I'm not sure whether you had to participate in beta, or preorder or what the conditions are, but my subscription runs out the 29th, exactly what the OP said.

I should know, I'm still logging on until my cancel takes effect and I'm still playing, leveling alts, so some of us have 29th cut offs.  I'm not sure why you got screwed.

I was in the beta as well. Only thing I can think of is if everyone else put in their CDkey when they got cut off. I put in mine as soon as I got it, and I could definitely see NCsoft saying 'well then screw your left over clemency days". I didn't play it for the last week anyway so no biggie.

When I preordered from D2D I was sent one key and once applied to my account I had beta access and headstart aswell.I never entered another key, when the game went live my acct said it expires 10/29.

D2D mentioned an additional 7 days was included with preorder.

I know many like me canceled (or plan to) over the bots, crashes...etc so don't lose another $15.
The final straw for me was seeing a bot named Hkgfhgnb along with several other similar named bots that I reported over a week ago. Canceling is the only (and I will admit totally ineffective, NCSOFT will not care) protest I have.
I will take a look again in about six months or so to see if the bot issue has been fixed (or at least been reduced greatly).
NSSOFT history says that it will not. They have enough Asian subs to not care how many western subs cancel.
Oh, by the way, when you cancel, they will not ask you the reason why. This should tell you something about how they feel about their customers.

Besides hating the grind, this was really one of the main reasons I quit.  It just seems like they don't care.  From this bot issue to little things like the main forums being sloppy and not working and having a dead link for a month to general discussion.  I've never seen a company so completely hands off during the release month on a successfully selling game.

Thanks for the heads-up.  I guess yesterday was my last day since I tried signing on today and the account had expired.

Goodbye bots, gold sellers, rubber-banding, client crashes, buggy or nonexistent official forums (depending on your definition) and the general 'we don't give a crap about our customers' attitude.

I have no regrets and certainly feel like I got my money's worth.  Nearly two months of play and a lot of time spent (wasted) that would have cost me more if I was doing anything else but drinking tap water.

So, my official comment on this game is that it is definitely better than drinking tap water.

I'll see you all when the next MMO comes out.  Until then it's back to FPS and RTS for me!

And no, you can't have my stuff, I deleted my characters along with the 2,000,000.00+ kinah I had accumulated.

    Felt good.

    Ciao

Actually no.  YOU are saying that.  I never said that.

If you can only argue by putting words in other's mouths then you should probably give that up.

Most people I know had similar amounts of Kinah at my level.  What are you doing wrong if you don't?  I do admit I have more than most since I had 5 different characters all above 20 and 2 above 30, so yeah, I gots lots of kinah.  Correct that, I HAD lots of kinah.  It's all in Kinah heaven now.  Heck, I should have taken your advice and sold my kinah.  (I know you didn't actually say that, but you made the rules.)

I could have used the $10.  Well, at least that's what the goldseller sitting RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BANK FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS was selling it for.

I don't even know what an MMO hopper is.  I've had many cars in my life, does that make me a car hopper?  lol.

You funny, little man.  Thanks for giving me the opportunity to quote myself and bump the thread.

Even if it goes F2P - which is all it's worth - I wouldn't bother with it.

hehe, an hour into a game and you quit, your opinion is certainly valuable for everyone of us.

You may want to read his entire post  before responding.  He stated he canceled his subscription after one hour, not that he quit playing.  He actually "forced" himself to play for a few weeks thereafter.  Like I said, it's usually a good idea to read a person's entire post before making a snarky, unfounded reply.

I wish I could be like you..play and not see any bots anywhere. Ignorance is bliss, I guess. There are so many bots in this game that it's beyond the point of being ridiculous.

Which is a huge shame to me because I really liked Aion. When I played the beta's, I could see myself playing for a long time. Because in beta, there were NO bots. I honestly don't remember seeing one, which makes sense of course..why would you bot in the cb/ob? You wouldn't. But they killed the game for me and I can never see myself going back now. And I blame NC for this of course, because if they had really wanted to do something about them, they could have.

Just wait, pretty soon the bots will outnumber the players on some of the servers. They already do in some areas (Go to Brusthonin or Theobomos, right now, and see yourself.)

    LOL!

What's interesting about this is that it's on ALL the servers. Same exact setup, dude selling gold in the main hub areas of the towns and also spams an emote that say "Hey hey hey" or just a single "Hey." And NC never does a damn thing about it. I can see why the conspiracy people think that it's actually NC selling the kinah themselves.

Not to mention that you can't report someone in Sanctum or Pandemonium..but it's not like reporting them would do anything either huh?

One thing I saw that was like a kick in the nuts to me, was a bot sitting in Pandemonium (on the Fregion server) and selling 8 pieces of level 40 gold gear. No, they weren't crafted, they were drops. That was pretty much the last straw for me heh.

The wife and I called it for now.

The bots were making it difficult for her and I to run up our toons (Morheim desert, right outside Bel fortress all the way into the mine areas}. I also found the bots in the Abyss farming shards right next to the towers, and the RMT AP farmers running around in gank squads just way too much to swallow. And don't get me started on all the AH gold items (Every one was posted by Fsfdgds and friends).

I'll check back when I'm bored of Borderlands and Dragon Age.

Your game account "------------- " for Aion has expired due to payment failure or cancellation.

I found out today that 90% of my legion bots ... so I'm done with this game.   the sad thing is I really liked this game.  I'd report my legion but I don't see any point because NCsoft will not do anything.

I don't see any point to play online games anymore.

I am not cancelling -- but thanks for the friendly reminder.

Some people's subscriptions renewed on 10/22, give a day or two.  Apparently, my account wasn't one of them, but I had already given in that I would pay for the first billing to give them time to fix some things before leaving.  The bots are completely out of control and until that issue is fixed, this will be the only payment they receive for my account or my husband's.

It's quite a disappointment to see the status on bots.  For those who truly enjoy the game and can tolerate them, best of luck to you.  I don't ever like to see games fail, but it is a reality of this industry.

my experience with the game so far -- bots are a non-factor.  I have seen very few so far.  Maybe I am not paying attention, maybe I am clueless, but I am not noticing them.  They have never affected my gameplay in any manner that has been noticeable to me.  I respect the fact that for you its a big issue -- I am just saying, I dont see it -- at all.

On the flip side, if the crashes are not fixed I will eventually cancel.  Now that, is something that I do notice -- that is something that affects my gameplay.  Bots ? -- nope, not at all.  In fact I think the problem with bots is being blown way out of proportion.\

To put this into some sort of perspective, at one point in the game I was not in a guild and had to level up extraction.  I found a node to harvest.  I received a phone call from a friend and stood by the node, talked on the phone and harvested when it respawned.  Over the course of about an hour of doing this, a player kept coming up to me, not saying a word, would watch me, run off, grind some mobs and come back.  Eventually they whispered me "Hi."  I responded with a hello and asked them how they were doing today...They never answered and I never saw them again.  So, basically think there are some bots out there, but its not as big of a problem as people think and many people think alot of legit players are bots.

While I respect your opinion, the bots are a HUGE issue. Allow me to explain why -

First off, bots ruin your gameplay experience. I dare you to go to Theobomos or Brusthonin right now, and then say to me that there aren't at least 100 bots there. And if you need a quest mob that's in a location that a bunch of bots are, good luck getting it done in an hour.

Second, they get massive amounts of drops. While most people are lucky to get a few blues as drops when they solo, bots will be selling 8 gold items that they got as drops. And they sell each one for millions and millions of kinah. Who can afford spending 10 mil for a gold cuirass at level 35? I'll tell you who can - someone who buys kinah with RL money. So the bots sell the item, get 10 mil kinah and then turn around and sell that kinah to some other cheater who buys it with rl money.

Lastly, a lot of the "top" legions botted their way to the top. So if you, a legit player, ever had any hopes of competing against them, then that chance is gone. They are already way ahead of you, and by the time you hit 50, they will be fully decked out in gold abyss gear and will destroy you in pvp. I've been wrecked by someone who bought a ton of gold items (obvious gold buyer) and let me tell you, its NOT fun when a cheater kills you so easily.

Aion could have been such a great game, that's the saddest part of all. I really loved the beta but the bots and excessive cheating in general totally killed the game already imo.

Apparently you need 40.000.000 experience points to level from 40 to 41 ...Is that true?

Is that the sign of a "great game"?

Just a question, but have you calculated once how many mobs you have to (slowly) kill to get those 40.000.000 points.

And after you go to 41, the next level is ... 44.000.000 something ?

It's not the "ultimate" to just have an extra level is it?

Just asking, because I wonder if ... that is fun?

Aren't you taking the bots as a scape goat to ignore rather more boring game designs underneath (like the terri bad drops of boss loot etc...).

As an outsider these above things don't look any good to have in " a great game". Who wants to bash the heads of 10.000 mobs to add just one more level? Of course having to endure this WITH an extra bot plague is very annoying, but is the game really that sound anyway?

Oh please, are you still posting?

You do realize that the exp needed to level is NOT a negative? In your opinion (and most of the WoW fanbois as well) it is, but opinion =/= truth. Aion was designed this way, it was never meant to be a WoW clone, if you want that then stick to WoW.

Believe it or not a lot of people actually enjoy grinding mobs much more than questing. They don't wanna insta-lvl50, but want the journey to take more time. This is not a negative, it's just different. Whereas WoW starts its instance-fest endgame... at endgame, it is not so in Aion.

Same with the boss loot drops. While you prefer to have loot drop on every single boss kill, others do NOT want that.

Sometimes you're just too full of yourself thinking your "opinion" is the be all end all. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it isn't.

i lol at everything in this thread.. 30 minutes wasted really but i feel i should give my oppion. BOTS are there yes.. but if your smart, youll move away from them and be laughing in ur head as they run back to the same spot OVER AND OVER again and sit down..  oh and if u want a real Good time. Roll a Sorc. find a bot. KS from that bot for an hour.. ITS ENDLESS FUN, i trolled this bot for over an hour the guy came back and flipped out on me for fucking up his botting. I just lold as i reported him a 2nd time. GUESS WHAT HE GOT BANNED... so i do believe that cancles ur arguments that NCsoft isnt doing shit cuz they are.. Triniel is the server im on and Reporting makes a difference... only problem is in main towns where u cant auto hunt ...

next issue.. the 40 million EXP ur talking about WTF DO U EXPECT YOUR NOW 4/5 OF CAP LEVEL IF U INSTA LEVEL ITS NOT A GOOD GAME... no final levels should be instant.. you should need to TRAIN, AND WORK for it..

srsly i just reached 35 and it was a breath of fresh air as i requiped my self with all my beautiful golds and blues and greens ive been working for in FT for those 5 levels.. it was such a reward for finaly making it to 35.. when i hit 37 its gonna be beautiful to.. and if ur dumb enough to GRIND 1 mob all day long.. ur ruining your own experience.. i have yet to be bored.. i have tons of stuff to do at 35.. Fort instances, sieges, Enemy gaurd killing, gank parties, normal instance, Quests, Crafting, Chilling with friend planning some diabolical scheme to piss of asmodians... OH and when i get start to feel like im doing something TEDIOUS... i go and do something new OR go play one of my fast Action games i have like S4 League. or CS:S seriously if ur gonna play a MMORPG u need a fast action game to go along with it IMO cause that will make the MMORPG feel fresh everytime.

now im not saying there arnt problems.. crashes( SOOOO ANNOYING) but will be fixed soon , gold spammers, which ALMOST dont exist any more in /3 or /1  or /2 or /4 or whaterver / u use, (atleast in triniel) bots they do exist but if ur smart u can turn them into a game ( get a group of 6 and troll his kills)  and this new reward system for playing longer is a beautiful Idea IMO if u have been playing for 6 months u should be rewarded as a faithful customer IMO

.... think i covered most, k im gonna go gank some asmodians have a good day

  • joker007mojoker007mo Member Posts: 712

amazing how you have all this money. im lvl 3o and ive had to scrimp and save everything just to even get my spellbooks drops are almost non existent if i make 100k im really lucky .cant even lvl my crafting skills death costs so much im actually almost a lvl behind cuz i cant afford to pay the soul healer anymore. all my armor is white what are blues and greens those things cost well more then what they are truly worth i feel. bots that wipe out everything leaving you trying to figure out how to complete a quest you have had since lvl 27 and even better gladiators that wait for you to start attacking a creature just to run up and snake it from you since he does more damage leaving you with little health and nothing to show for it . instances where you walk away empty handed and have to wait 17 hours to try again and i never even bothered with the abyss 5 mins out and your wiped  by 4-5 asmos before you even know what hit you sure thats going to happen but usually i like to be able to move and attack which when attacked gets so lagged up by the time you know what has happened your dead .so no canceled my sub and at the end of the month im going back to lotro i honestly tryed to enjoy the game but the many issues with it have made me not even want to bother and the fanboys act like nothing is wrong which is laughable at best since just cuz you act like nothings wrong doesnt mean there isnt anything wrong.

there thats as good as it gets i dont think in punctuation so i dont type that way either my bad

I too cancelled Aion recently. It just isn't fun. And for those of you who are dumb enough to actually downplay the existence of the bots, and say well, this and that, blah and blah, about them...

No. You're retarded. Bots are not in the design of this game, and they should under no circumstances be allowed to kill shit that people need for quests and ruin the game for other people. Period. And NCSoft's lack of action has caused people to cancel. It's as simple as that. Aion will turn into a niche game just like WAR, Age of Conan, etc.

It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. It had its chance, it's failed, time to move on.
