Just confirmed with a good friend of AC(1) who got some inside feedback from a member of the dev team.......
While they promised a spring 2005 release, now it's way too little time to release "everything" they want to include in the long awaited expansion. He told my friend simply "Don't look for it anytime before 2006.
Sheesh. And with D&D online "supposed" to be released this fall by Turbine as well, will this release date also fall by the wayside... and even if it does, I'm betting that D&D online would be a LOT higher priority to Turbine then would be the AC expansion.
Wouldn't be surprised to see AC canned soon myself. Who knows.

Yeah if its true and the expansion dont come out til 2006 then AC will probaly go down the drain. But on a good note it had a good run was my first MMORPG and still one of my favorites.
I believe AC will have to throw in the towel soon, not many people playing anymore and even with an expansion the new content can only last so long

Yes, all I can say is this is coming from a very reliable source.
AC has had a good run, but it's too bad, cuz I still think that if they could get a new updated graphics expansion out really soon and open up several new servers, and put it out on the store shelves (which it hasn't been there for several years now)... I still think that Asheron's Call would be the BEST MMO out there, period. They just need some updated graphics.. and most of all new servers so all the new ppl could start fresh and not be overwhelmed. I could almost guarantee it would sell very well. It's a great game. One of the best ever, and anyone who says differently obviosly hasn't ever played or didn't play enough to figure it out.
It will be sad to see this one die... if it does.

Until the developers themselves say this, I doubt it.

Is this the expansion that they have been talking about that's supposed to re-vamp all of the graphics in the game? If so, I could see them pushing it back.. Maybe they want more time to get a "next-gen" graphics engine in as opposed to just bringing it up to current standards.
I think this is the most reliable souce, recently posted TODAY on Turbines official forums

Where did you get this information?
Just today an article was posted at the official AC1 site and states the opposite.

"Asheron's Call: Throne of Destiny and Asheron's Call 2: Legions are scheduled to hit retail shelves in the first half of 2005."
