It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
I wish i knew why, the gameplay seems fun, it just appears to be a little things that i cant get into. The fact that theres no easy way to find out where your going for a quest other then clicking on the mob then locate, then after clicking on the NPC who gave you the quest and clicking locate. The fact that the interface is just so different to WoW (Other then War the only mmo i have played). These among many other things are just nitpicks, tennie tiny nitpicks which shouldnt really bother me but it does. I dont know when im leveling up, i have leveled up 2 times and i didnt even know i did other then my level name, i dont seem to be getting any indication of when i level, no light around my character or anything, again a nitpick but they are all adding up and really making it hard for me to get into the game.
I guess the point of this post is to ask you guys for help, maybe there is somethings you can say that will keep my intreast and keep me playin. I want to get into this game, its pretty, theres some nice details init, its just not happening for me at the minute

This is all just my opinion, but I was hoping to help out a little here.
Since you don't have very many MMOs under your belt, so to speak, it will be difficult for you at first when trying a new game. I remember my transistion from EQ to DAoC (which was the first time I tried another MMO after playing my first one)- I had to stick with it.
The reason is, once you get used to this new style, it will be great for you. Also, this will not cause you to forget your previous game's way either - so all of a sudden you are comfortable with multiple games.
The most important thing here at this point, after getting used to your new game, is that you can base an opinion solely on the game itself now - and not just the differences between it and what you're used to. I encourage you to keep at it for a while. Then, and only then, can you decide if your new game is right for you. This is true of *any* game.
As for Aion specifically, it's not a bad game. I'm having a difficult time st aying into it myself, but due to having a RL friend that's really into it, I keep going. It's not that I'm not having fun mind you. I've only hit level 30 so far, but have two tradeskills fairly high, which have been funding our characters.
There is, actually, a glow/sparkle when you level. The problem is it's a *very* quick animation. So if you're not watching, or even in bright lighting at the time, I suppose it's possible to miss it. Keep watching as you level.
When you begin to branch out, it's important to give your new game a lot of time. this is for your self-adjustment. If you quit a game based on the fact that it's different than you're used to - you may just quit a game that would have gone on to be your favorite MMO to date.
This is just some advice based on my experiences. Best of luck to you,
Acidon
I think it's a cute troll who likes to believe he's not playing a wow-clone.
I fail to realize how anyone else is going to be able to say anything to you that will change your perspective and make you enjoy the MMO. If you like it, you like it. If you don't then you don't. But there's not anything anyone can try to say to you that's going to switch on your Aion Enjoyment Switch.
Dear God...
for those of us who have a little more experience to MMOs then people like you who only know wow -- I can assure you AION has gameplay elements and influences and similarities to EQ, L2, DAOC, and yes wow.
Also, Blizz doesnt nor have they ever hidden the fact, that they take existing, successful games and integrate and improve on what is already out there. wow did this to EQ big time.
At the end of the day, you are another wow fanboi who lacks the ability to step out from the wow box and continue on that boring road chasing that carrot on a stick game blizz calls an MMO.
lol jesus, gfaqs are more friendler then you peopl, i need to make sure i and the people i know stay away from these forums.
Remember; these are the people you'll be grouping with in Aion. Keep that in mind, and don't try to force yourself to play a garbage game you don't enjoy.
Dear God........
This guy is like those girls that cant cook a thing unless it is a ready meal....hes like those blokes that cry when they get into a fight and drink alcopops and cider...
Caveat Emptor
LOL! How can you not see when you lvl up?! you bloody get laser gold and light blue wings out of your back and a loud sound...wow...
Leveling up is pretty noticeable - large sound effects and all kinds of graphical bells and whistles. Maybe your graphics card/settings are messed up.
