Cause bots can emulate a mouse click or a key stroke.

I was talking for macro botting. If they use a third party program than shouldn't it be just easier? Anti 3rd party program.

NCsoft already has one.. but its currently disabled, the madness called Gameguard, that caused more problems then it solved..

The only true answer to the issue of bots being so rife in this game: a sufficient, petition-reactive number of GM's per server to flush them out and deal with them in a timely basis. Since this doesn't appear to be an option NCSoft plans to incorporate any time soon, I have little doubt they'll try to code their way our of the problem or give up on dealing with it altogether.

Of course if the lazy idiots who buy into gold spamming sites or bot for levels would drop into a deep, dark chasm and die, the problem would alleviate itself as well.

    Ah, well.

I've seen something along these lines in some f2p's.

There was a few (the names escape me) where there were these invisible, super-elite mobs that would only attack you if you hit them. The trick here was that the only way to hit them was to target them directly. Of course since, to a normal client, they didn't exist this never happened to a real player. Bots on the other hand target everything and the devs in these games made these mobs have hp/mp stats and names similar to those around them. These mobs just happened to do insane damage at insane rates and could not be killed.

Of course there were some instances where sometimes an aoe or two would hit these invisible monstrosities resulting in a death for a legit player. Though in my experience this was fairly rare and usually bots suffered from this more than anything.

I don't know why more of the mainstream mmo's don't use more inventive tools to put a stop on botting.
