What a surprise. More battle scenes.

The last screenshot is Earth. I can see the Great Lakes, the St. Lawerence, and Newfoundland.

Indeed.  I wouldn't have known that our star system has a clearly visible blue cloud around it!    I realize it's just a video game but for crying out loud, not all space needs LSD inspired backgrounds, particularly not the space around our system...

I agree. It looks an awful lot like SWG: Jump to Lightspeed.  Wonder if those Devs were hired by Cryptic.

but at the same time seeing black back ground and white dots the whole time would get boaring as hell

    Goddamn that looks boring.

Slow moving spaceships with little beams appearing randomly, fun.

Star Wars space combat is actually interesting to watch, just saying.

Id have to say there 2 distinct styles of Space combat, if trek combat looked like star wars combat...well then it would not be Star trek. I think both have good aspects to them.

This game better be as good as they make it out to be.  Still no official videos and information like SW:TOR.  They had a bad start with the closed beta promises and subscription thing.  I can wait for open beta or release but they better make it good :)

Brings to mind playing elite many years ago. Cant say I ever got bored. Seems like gamers today require good graphics for a game to be good and fail to see the actual game play of a game. I for one am looking forward to this as I want to boss around my bridge officers :)

The only thing they have shown is some space and ground combat. Nothing else.

Nothing new we had already seen before from earlier trailers.

They haven't shown anything non-combat related. Nothing is known on that front.

Hence, we don't even know if we will even be able to walk around on Start Fleet Headquarters (both the space station and ground station on earth). Or that we just dock with our ships and staring at a EVE Online like User interface lol.

And seeing that so far no one from the Champions Online Lifetime subs / 6 month offer have gotten into Closed Beta yet. And I doubt they will lol.  So I am getting a feeling we won't be expecting any beta leaks any time soon either.

    Cheers

Yeah some of you guys really complain about totally insignifigant shit wow what kind of screens are you expecting in a freakin video game most of what you do is move around and fight.  And if they just put pics up of people/ships with no action you'd be complaining about that too.  And talk about nitpicky I watch the Universe every week and DVR every episode but I couldn't under any circumstances see myself trying to ride out on a game because the solar system doesn't look just like it looks on all the pretty computer models.  Which is all any of you have to base what space looks like on unless of course you're and astronaut which I highly doubt and isn't the game set some three hundred years in our future there could be countless reasons the galaxy wouldn't look the exact same.  Alot of you have made it plainly obvious you won't like the game do you really think you need to try to "create" more reasons?

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

They may not have released any "new" gameplay footage but his response was to someone who said they wanted to see some so he pointed them to some in existence.  I don't know why we are downing a game for not releasing game play footage.  I usually don't go all crazy for that type of stuff as it just sets you up for the fall but I think the game seems to be moving along at a greater than average pace.  EVE is a much loved game so though I would be disappointed if they did not include hubs like space stations it wouldn't be a deal breaker.  But even more important this game is being made with an avatar component which EVE was not why assume there won't be a hub, I can see assuming you won't be impressed by what they offer but it would be pretty dumb of them not to include it when they already have everything they need to do it in game.

I love how many people talk so much about "non combat related" aspects of video games.  Honestly what am I doing wrong?  I've played a good eight to nine mmo's and can quite honestly say combat accounts for more than fifty percent of what you do in a video game.  How many games with awesome crafting but sucky combat survived?  combat is the meat of the game guys like you I like bells and whistles too but alot of folks on here talk as if they never fight in an mmo when I've never met an mmo player who spends more time doing anything else in (most) games.

SWG and a few other games are designed as to be able to avoid combat but those kinds of games are exceptions and not the rule.  A screen shot of you "discovering" some new system would I'd think be highly less inspiring than a combat screen so no surprise there.  And while there are I'm sure some folks who would love to spend there entire gameplay time as the "Ferengi cook" and never see combat those ten people aren't going to be able to sell a game guys.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

It is also nitpicky to dislike if a species with green skin, horns, pincers, seven eyes, a prehensile tail and thirteen sexes is called 'human,' I am sure.

A bright blue nebula surrounding a star system that is supposed to be ours, when we know perfectly well what is seen from our star system, is not exactly a minor detail. Just saying, Mr. I DVR a TV Show About It.
