I too have been playing AION. Before that I was on LOTRO for 1 and a half years.  Logged on last night and it was like going home after the mess that AION is.  The population will be big again after the release of SoM.

I am level 57 and level 31, I left the game about 6 months in and then rejoined about 4 or so months ago and am loving it. The population on Landroval seems very healthy to me. This is supposed to be the RP server but I rarely role play. It just seems more of a mature server. Anyway, I can't speak much to the starter areas because I havent been there much, but in Bree it is VERY busy where all the starter areas meet anyway. I also tried Aion and quickly left. The botters were HORRIBLE. I havent seen that in this game since I came back.  Not sure if others are seeing botters. I never really care what server I am on as long as the server seems relatively mature and there is a good guild that seems helpful.

    There Is Always Hope!

I am currently at level 26 and have been playing for a few weeks.  I play on Brandywine which is supposed to be the most populated server (Landroval, RP server, is supposed to be 2nd).

Community is a great (I actually had a conversation about opera in my kin the other day -- but don't let that scare you off).  There are some idiots on the global glff channel -- but these people are universally ignored to the point where they can't actually raid because too many people have them on the ignore list.  Also make sure you join a good kin as soon as possible.

I haven't seen a botter or gold spammer yet.

So far I have had no problems doing group quests.  Make sure you are pro-active though and use the social panel (O key) to find people you can send tells to in your area.  I find in LotRO if you are friendly and treat people well it comes back tenfold.

Well that is cool...Im looking forward to it ...ya the botters in AION is really a big turn off for that game ...i wont be resubbing after my month runs out ...im at the moment loading LOTRO onto my computer you guys seem really cool hopefully i can meet people like you al lthat posted this thread i was kinda weird about posting on these forums being that people tend to flame and troll on this website like no tomarrow but i found that the LOTRO boards dont seem to bad ....So wich server should i pick ?And what are some easy soloing classes i was thinking of a Lore Master Or a captain

why must you QQ so much ...

I would recommend the Warden class. It is a bit more involved to play than some other classes but the solo survivability seems to be high with them.

I just started playing the 14-day trial the other night, and loved what I intially saw - enough to buy a cheap copy of the compliation pack.

At first I rolled on a PVE server (Snowbourn), but had second thoughts and I'm now planning a character for the EU Laurelin server. (which is fun, since I haven't role-played since the launch of EQ2). Brushing up on Hobbit lore has been really fun, and the relaxed nature of the game is very refreshing.

The graphics are surprisingly gorgeous in places, too.

You can go there, Arkenstone or Landroval. I have played on them all (have a lvl 60 on Arkenstone and a 20ish on Landroval and did beta on Brandywyne for a bit). I personally think that Arkenstone has one of the best communities i have ever played in. The general is always amusing and doesnt turn into mindless babble from idiots that are bored. Everyone is very helpful and will make sure that everyone gets thier fair share. Its really a great place. Its almost as good as the EQ community back in the day. The only reason i say it isnt is because of preference. As for Landroval, its the unofficial RP server. That means you will find people running around RPing and such but they go in and out of character and its a really fun server because of this.

    Sounds good!

I'll have to stop lurking and introduce myself at some point over on the official forums.

Edit - looking over at the Laurelin Archives has been a good read. Seems to be a lot of imaginative / humorous folk on the server.
