These girls are nearly all unbelievably attractive... but there is something about costumes, especially the anime-based ones, that just don't really do it for me. Not to say they don't look great in the costumes, but it kind of weirds me out and always has.
Those are some nice ones, but sometimes I don't understand the way some ppl look at cosplay. Everything that is sexy is almost always posted and honored REGUARDLESS if they look like the person or not. You can tell as you go down the list the shift changes.
lol what is the deal with all the BIG TITS? not that I'm complaining!! But it's kind of funny how females in fantasy and games always have such huge knockers. no wonder many women do not play video games, they are probably offended haha
Tifa, Laura Croft, that Jessica chick. Even in the games they are animated to bounce all over the place haha. Half of the armor available for Jessica in DQVIII consist of bunny suits, dancer suits, and even one called a dangerous bustier that looks like lingerie.
heremypet, reason is because it brings out a character. I can't speak much for the asisn games, but in US games and culture I can bring out the perfect example....ok lets bring in asian games too lol. Your character is either crazy, sexy or cool. Chris Redfield is a man of fantasy. A high number of girls would drop to their knees (including my own sister) if that was real. In our eyes we see that as cool. In the ladies that is sexy. Same goes for Duke Nukem. Now let's take a look on Chun Li. My sister likes Chun Li. She is female and she is not a joke, an add for female appeal, or a weak link. You play Chun Li good she is a beast. To us we see that too and Chun Li is pretty damn fine if that was real. To the ladies that is cool. Same goes for Lara Croft.
Big Boobs are the equivilance to Big Muscle. It's highly hipporcital for anybody to be offended when we have grown up, lived and breathed this type entertainment though our lives. Novels, Gaming, Movies, Mags, Life, Toys, TV, Cartoons, etc. Even down to G.I. Joe and Barbie it's been like a princible. Also yeah I read one of those Fantasy Novels that are popular with the ladies. The covers of those explains my whole theory above.

so, basically you're saying that a womans boobs are symbolic of their strength? Hmm.. well I'll agree with you on that, just dont know how the ladies will feel about that
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
It depends on the cosplayer, but at least for female cosplayers, they do it for two reasons... they want the attention, or they just love the character (and yes, you can do it for both reasons). Society also doesn't let women dress skimpy without calling them nasty things, so its a chance to show off what they have (basically like Halloween).
I've cosplayed several times before, though never in skimpy costumes. Guess what? You still get lots of attention (especially if you look a lot like the character). The nice thing is that its the good type of attention... regardless of what assets you have, it's never worth it you attract the bad, creepy attention.

LOL, I'm saying sex appeal goes both ways. 80% of the games we own that stars a male character has sex appeal....unless you got a Wii or somethin.

I think Cosplay is all about details.
