Ok, what the heck, I'll reply.

If they relaunched vanilla EQ as it was in 1999 except for bug fixes and with no damn raiding.  Instead of having raiding as an endgame instead just keep the normal grouping game going.

I'm already playing, but I often hear from my friends that they want to see better character graphics & armor graphics.  That imo is the weakest point of EQ1.  EQ1 doesn't have content issues, it's got 10 years worth of content.  EQ1 doesn't really have feature issues, most features you see in modern MMO's you can find in EQ1, plus more.  EQ1 definitely does not have lore issues.  They have improved on the npc models and zone/environmental graphics, it's time they spend the money and time to upgrade character graphics imo.

I'm with Neanderthal.  The only thing that would make me come back would be a classic server, starting with Vanilla EQ and working to Velious over a year or two.  Realistically, it will never happen.  I will, therefore, never be coming back.  *sad face*

everquest 1 cataclysm          (you get the idea)

and making it avail again in ebgame and walmart store since they havent been avail there or their time card since 1999

  • drbaltazardrbaltazar Member UncommonPosts: 7,856

what i dont get is why they never made it avail for psp or psp go

it would be a perfect game to convert for massive multiplayer online on the go

i like the sound of that

the PSP GO only has 16gb of memory, thats not enought for EQ.

and then what about a keyboard for typing? How am I supposed to talk to other players?

A new free expansion based at low-levellers(less than 70)

thought they might have been more popular. That would have incented me perhaps- shove a whole new continent for level 1-60 or 70 and based on the appeal of the original with dungeons, and the standard fantasy mobs type of thing, and refill with new lore etc.

I voted other because it would take all the choices (all of the above) plus be free to play for me to come back and play.

I wouldn't, except for the occasional visit to wallow in nostalgia. The game mechanics are too restrictive, there are too few players on what ever server my account's been merged with (Maelin, I think), the dated graphics make it just that much harder to get back into it. Even if they made it free-to-play I can't see myself devoting much time to the game. What's really sad is there isn't another game that I don't feel the same way about. I'm beginning to think MMO's are doomed sink in their own suckiness.

It would take getting rid of Smedley and all of his money grubbing schemes.

FUncom putting the FU in fun since 1993.

I have all but last 4 expansions. I cant bring myself to play without all the expansions but the costs to get each one is beyond what I could justify. If they made an affordable way to get all the expansions in one bundle I would come back and give it a try.

With EQ2 whenever you buy the current expansion it comes with all the previous expansions also. I would think original EQ would have the same set up.

  • neschrianeschria Member UncommonPosts: 1,406

Yes, it is also the case with EQ1 that all previous expansions are included with the latest expansion.

I would come back if they update the graphics.........they are just too ancient.

And obviously they need to scrap the RMT and the Card game connected with the game loot.

I already did come back  and it didn't take anything on your list. It just took 6 years of me looking for eq in all the newer mmos.  Of course I didn't find it, and it's just as well. Back and having fun, so don't go changing to try and please me.

  • SwampRobSwampRob Member UncommonPosts: 1,003

    Soloable end-game perhaps.   Raiding sucks.

I already tried to come back about 8 months ago. They had a campaign where by i resubbed before the free 30 days were up i got all the expansions i think except what was the newest one at time.Well after about 2 weeks i decided i'd go for it and resub, well every single day i tired the accounts system would not let me.I figured maybe accounts were down whatever i kept trying, until about 5 days left.

I sent them emails no response.then of course on the last day to resub i finally get an email, and of course now i can re sub,but now it says i can no longer get the free expansions,,i was like wtf, what a scam,i gave up on their little scam and never tried to re sub since.

So i don't know if it was some glitch in their accounts system that figured because i was on a free 30 day trial i could not re sub,or they were just leading me on with a scam, telling me i will get the free expansions and other gifts, but never planned on following through, either way they messed up and never got my sub.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Classic server PLUS fix the most broken class in all MMO's the Everquest Warrior In fact FIX ALL THE CLASSES MORONS!

    Warrior (Everquest)

I had a level Warrior in Everquest and you know what I remember most? Pressing ‘1′ to initiate auto attack then alternating the pressing ‘2′ to Taunt and ‘3′ to Kick. Exciiiiiiting. Who thought it would be fun to create a class that has access to absolutely zero abilities whilist everyone else runs around shooting lighting bolts or fly kicking mobs in the face. I had a freaking /sit macro - a /sit macro - on my hotkey panel just to use up space. /palmface

    Druid (Everquest)

You know what absolutely drove me mad? Spending hours getting a full six man group together, holy trinity of classes included, to camp one of the spires surrounding the entrance to Splitpaw in South Karana only to find that a single Druid was already camping the whole damn place. Kiting everything that moves to earn himself a ton of exp and plat. Bastards

I personally preferred EQ's style on Druids and Warriors.  In terms of Warriors, I did like how they were more "simple" in terms of actual usable skills.  Reason being, is look at MMOs these days.  Every Warrior class has dozens of abilities, which are all flashy and what not.  To me, it really takes away from the immersion of a Warrior class, and turns it into a hotkey button mash spam.  Almost every MMO is a hotkey/special button mashing game.  Its disgusting.

I would say if Sony gave it up and a good company took up the game.  Might come back if they dumped Smed and got a professional CEO.

A new progression server would have made me resub this past summer. It worked in '06. Unfortunately, they decided to appease the few players they have left with 51/50. Whether or not that was the "correct" decision, I don't know.

I missed out on EQ. I tried to get into EQ after getting into EQ2 and playing it for a few years. However, the controls are just too foreign to me in EQ. I hate them! I would play the game if it had better controls or templates for those of us who are use to the W,A,S,D way of doing things. I know that you can use w,a,s,d in the game - it just does not feel right. So i guess, modernized controls would give me a reason to start playing.

I am currently playing Eq after having not played since WoW launched. It is a good game. a real good game I am once again engrossed maybe more so than I was way back when.

That being said it is an old game. A Very old game. The UI is atrocious the graphics pretty bad but not as much as I thought they would have been. The mechanics of the game like Mob reactions and pathing are really terrible. I can not understand why these things after all these years have not been re done.

The game is waaay too large and travel is very confusing to an absurd state. The many many many expansions were all just stuck on to the end of existing zones instead of making new landmasses like Kunark and Velious were. Its just way too many zones. Zones after Zones after Zones and ghost towns in all of them where once was a glorious new expansion zone is just nothingness and barren.

My answer would really be to STOP MAKING EXPANSIONS on top of more and more and more. Its just a massive cluttered mess and a new player could seriously get extremely frustrated attempting to find information about all of the millions of game mechanics that have been changed and introduced and etc etc.

It is really just too much stuff in this game. They continue to just pile on more and more expansions and never fixing the game properly to make them be a part of the game. They could spend the next ten years just re vamping the game and would never be able to do it. Yet they keep making new stuff and tossing it in with the hope of box sales. They are horribly mis ran and they really dont seem to care.. They dont even try to bring the game up to modern standards. It is all a money grab now and I would guess the expansions are created very very cheaply and not much money is ever put into the game.

It is still the same EQ that it ever was. Just like the first day , just with tons and tons of stuff tossed in everywhere and completely vacant  massive  zones with mobs and npc just standing their waiting for someone to come by.
