CUSTOMER SERVICE - or rather Lack of Customer Service.
SOE is horrible with every game they run. Everything is fine until you have a problem. Then of course you can get in touch with email and maybe a phone call .. but the answer is usually "sorry nothing we can do to help".
Today i experienced something even more shocking - after doing the subscription ... the Online game does not allow you to play!?? Guess what game this is? .... its WoW. First time i ever came across a service that refuses to let you log in. They have implemented a "Server Que". you put your name into the que and have to wait (i am waiting now btw - for nearly 110 minutes, but tghe que says i only have 44 mins to wait ... its been jumping from 20 mins to 55 mins for the last half hour).
This is the most bizzar thing i have ever run across ... i wonder if it is even legal?? Can a company charge you money then NOT deliver?
Oh well ... Blizzard does not even provide any Message or Customer Service to explain the strangeness of it all ... you see ... most have already paid and are now screwed.
Great Customer Service - What ever happened to Customer Service anyway ... this world is sure changing - not sure its all that much better.

SOE isnt the worst Project Entropia is, everyone knows that. SOE is a 50/50 type scenario. The CSR support is either insanely excellent or insanely bad. I've found City of Heroes support to be the best thus far. WoW support likely sucks due to the volume of players, dunno if I'd blame them :P
Well, its YOUR choice to play on a highly populated server. Even if youre only trying to log in, it automatically logs you into the last server you chose. Blizzard warns you by showing you which servers have "high", "low", or "medium" population. If you choose to play on an already horribly overpopulated server, it's your choice.
At least you have the choice. Other games will usually force you into the least populated server, or make it really hard for you to get into a server that your friends are playing it. Would you rather have that?
Personally, Id rather have a choice. I have 2 characters on a horribly overpopulated server, but I got annoyed with that (the waiting, n the unbelievable lag spikes in populated areas). So you kno wat I did? I moved to a "medium" populated server.. Isnt that amazing?^^ Since then Ive never had to wait, and the lag isnt so noticable anymore.
I guess Blizzard didnt make this game as idiot-proof as I thought, when morons cant figure out that "high" means "highly populated". Anyways..
Use some common sense and accept that Blizzard's intial servers were not enough for the intial demand thus have way too many people then what the servers were tested/programmed for.
Go play on a medium-low server and problem solved.

I have to completely agree with that. Just hope you don't ever have to actually email the gm staff for help. I have gone through that nightmare, ended up having to talk to the Head GM after one of the other GM's tried running me around for 2 emails and then was trying to sluff me off. By time I had finally gotten to her I had already resolved the problem in game myself. Overall it took me 3 weeks to actually get to a "helpful" person. And this was solely contacting the gm staff through the form and email address's they provide to get assistance with an in game issue.
Mostly I don't bother now because I just get form emails and closed tickets you can't reply to, so you can better explain the problem that they obviously missed the first time around. Other times I have gotten a very skilled person that hooked me right up, but that is almost impossible now since guides are no longer allowed to answer petitions at all.

And the people that started on that server, before it was a high population server? I think it was pretty thoughtless to sit and call then all morons. A server DOES start empty the last time I checked. And not everyone wants to say goodbye to their guild, friends, and levels to go move to another server. I think who the moron is at this point is rather obvious.

The server you are on cannot support the number of people trying to get on it, hence you have a queue.
Get off the server, and you'll be able to play.
