Is there a way to protect oneself against such a thing? Apart from not connecting to the net...

    Try avast!

I think it works pretty well against viruses, and it's free.

Firefox with noscript helps.  Choose only the objects/plugins/code you want to run on each page you visit.  I dont even use an active AV program.  They don't always work anyway.

That really sucks by the way.  If I was gonna get sent to prison for child porn when I didn't even do it, I think i'd go apeshit and pull a stunt like that guy from georgia who jumped the bailiff and shot up the court room a few years back.  Going to prison for child porn is pretty much a death sentence and even if you do survive you will be financially ruined.

I also think they oughta loosen up on the law so it's not just about possession.  Puts the burden of proof on the accused and makes em guilty until innocent.  Prosecution needs to prove intent.

Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.

How do i set it to non-script? How will it affect the web site that i visit?
