I was a pre-order, played vanguard since beta, but then the game was running very bad on my pc, the history we all are used to. I used to play on what now is Halgar, got two 25 toons there (cleric and shaman) how is the population at Halgar? I can still play there, or is best for me to start all over again in a new server? In this case, what server?
Comments
Server population is "medium", what ever the hell that actually means.
Realistically, it's probably what most people would call "low". However, having said that. The population on Halgar is excellent. Quality over quantity.
Try it, you might like it.
Currently playing: Vanguard: SOH
Lets just say the server population peaks out at about 500 on the busiest time of the busiest day. I still raid with my guild during the scheduled times, but theres not much going on elsewhere.

Actually, also let me say that the community in this game, among the players left, is incredible. Everyones helpful, and you don't run into ANY annoying children.... Well, very very few.

I was going to fire up my old account last night, but said screw it. I will just run a free trial. I played at 10pm central and the all the servers were normal but the pvp server.
The trial island was packed full of people at that time, im kinda debating on firing up my old account. But my concerns depend on performance in areas other then the trial island
For example, there is some group dungeon called something keep I could always get a group for it with my 28 paladin but everytime I would get near the entrance to the keep my computer would just crap out. There was alot of places like that in vg and I have upgraded my computer since, so really hoping all those problems are gone before starting up my old account.
Has there been any performance patches lately?
The game is running a lot better than it did at launch. There has been many fixes to optimize performances within the game. I would give it a go if i were you. I'm sure you will see noticable improvements
The game is running MUCH better nowadays.
I retired my 50 necro 2 months after release due to VGs many issues but i'm pleased to say that having started a Dwarf Cleric on a fresh account recently i am loving it.
I recommend you give it another go. The game is fantastic. Its what i hoped EQ2 would have been back when i was playing EQ1. The world is massive, loads of races and classes with great lore. Can build houses, ships etc... .
As long as your not a PvPer, you'll love it
