Please join me in letting cryptic know en masse at 6pm EST and for the rest of the night how disappointed we are with the treatment we received with regard to the STO closed beta.
Post this message:
We demand you allow those who paid priority into the closed beta & that Cryptic reveals what will be the min beta access for us!
Post this or something like it to the following people on twitter:
http://twitter.com/Cryptic_Stormy
http://twitter.com/champsonline
http://twitter.com/CrypticIrnAngel
http://twitter.com/CrypticAlivet
http://twitter.com/CrypticDiamonds
Also we should all try and create new threads on the STO and CO boards demanding answers.
The issues:
Contest winners getting in before those who paid.
Regular applicants getting in before those who paid.
No clear answer as to whether those who paid will be guaranteed a minimum amount of closed beta access.
The censorship, deletion and moving of posts on their forums so that we can be easily ignored.
Comments
no idea about the censorship issue but i am pissed off about everything else. I think it's the lack of information from Cryptic that really seals the deal. Why the hell can't they just release a statement explaining why we havent got the beta yet or when we will be admitted in.
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
They never said when you will get into the Beta when you bought the 6 months or Lifetime subs. They have until the last day of close beta to give you access.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!
I am thinking that a lot of people just plain don't understand what 'closed beta' means as part of the development cycle of a product. I got a 6-month as well and am waiting for my STO invite, but this rage from people like loban is just idiotic.
I have no idea what your complaints are. I am in the beta for STO. I got it from my Champions account. I log into STO's website and it tells me all i need to know about the beta. I am very happy with STO and Champions.
If you bought Champions just to get in on the STO beta, then that was your first mistake. Honestly, even if (for the sake of argument) they DID shaft people, it's still BETA...buggy, laggy, forum b*tchfest-filled beta. I'd be more pissed if they were shafting people out of a subscription discount or a pre-order...but beta?

Wish List: Jumpgate Evolution, Star Wars: TOR, Star Trek
On top of that the people demanding to get in now will probably be highly dissapointed with how buggy the game is and rage about that too. There is generally a reason they limit how many and who to let into a beta at any given stage. There are probably multiple thousands who got the 6 month and lifetime subs to champions and their servers and code just cant handle that many people at this time. One of the 2nd to last things dev teams usually work on is optimization code and server stability type code to expand the #'s of players in a beta. So in all likelyhood you will be invited in the 2nd to last stage of beta. All your preorder did was gaurentee at some point you would get into beta....not when you would get into beta. On the other hand those with fileplanet accounts will probably be just as likely to get into the beta at about the same time you get in.
A shaft is a shaft, and when you take money for it, it's called "fraud".

If you bought the lifetime or 6 month sub for STO beta then you bought it for the wrong reasons and you deserve what you get. Its the same with with Mortal Online players right now paying to get into the beta, its ridiculous, and when they turn around and have issue because the game isn't up to par, they try and get their money back.
Listen, know what you're paying for, if there was any doubt in your mind that this was even in the realm of possibility and you went through with it, then its your fault, not theirs, and if you didn't think before spending the cash, then I guess this is your reward.
Supposed players defending shady practices by the game companies is disgusting and suspicious.

wow how silly can a person be. I paid too and i actually understand that beta access comes in stages and groups. My guess is that us lifetime and 6 monthers will get in on the last closed stress test before going to open beta. Here is the shocker, thye allow us access to beta on Their schedule, not Loban's schedule, get used to it and over yourself
Legaly you are correct. Of course that doesn't mean customers will be happy about it. In any case, Cryptic seems to enjoy flaunting the fact that they lack any buisness sense. This was simply one more means for them to do so.
Before anyone jumps on me for my belief that Cryptic is clueless and incompetent, remember this.
When the Devs were asked when we would have the ability to purchase additional bank space there response was........
"We thought you already could..."
This was of course a while after launch.
i would probably think all the people that are crying about not getting access are the exact people you dont want to have access. all they want is a free preview of the game and thats about it. i dont see these people contributing to the benefit of the game.
also cryptic never said the lifetime or 6mo people would get preferential access. they only said it would get you access. if you couldnt understand that simple concept, then thats your own fault and you have noone to blame but yourself.

You can already buy bank space, from the start, but only the Supergroup additional bank space.

If extra SG bank space was what was asked for or if the devs thought thats what players were reffering to you may have had a point.
Sadly this is not the case, it was specificaly individual banks and the devs thought you already could.
Correction, they retracted saying that Life time and 6 monthers would get priority access.
If you couldn't understand that simple concept then thats your own fault and you have no one to blame but yourself.
Daeke and Customer service both were informing players that lifers and 6 monthers did in fact have priority access. This was later retracted.
