By the way, the quality of the translation is lackluster to put it mildly. I recall a post on Russian official forums where Nival tech support claimed that all game text was initially written in English. If that's true I wonder why so many issues made it into this CBT. They had an eternity to pass their internal build to QA.

Last names were translated inconsistently, especially meaningful ones. Sometimes they tried to keep meaning or reference and sometimes it's just transcription. (I think they'd better stick to transcriptions because they don't 'feel' English well enough anyway.)

Additionally, mob conversations make even less sense now.

P.S. I know and I used it. ;-) Actually for me, playing a mage, ganking was hardly a problem even when I was L23 and almost everyone around else was L24+. Mage can run away easily. You just need to know how to use terrain to your advantage.

MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

It's Not in op[en beta yet. This is closed beta. They have a lot of time to fix these things. The combat system isn't really broken, just needs more indicators to tell you that you did activate the skill.

I wouldn't know about luck yet.

I haven't run into that "even-leveled mobs killing you" thing that you talked about. Maybe you just go about the wrong strategy? Usually if I cycle through my skills I can kill one fairly easily. 5% of my health gone or less.

I've seen much worse. I can very clearly understand just about everything said and only spotted about 3 typos in the first 4 hours of play. They weren't big either. Things like putting an "of" where a "for" should have been. And last names aren't translated. In any language. That was one of the first things they told me in every language class I ever took. Also, it's a fantasy world. They don't have to sound or feel "English" in a world that doesn't exist.

That's like complaining that Frodo Baggins doesn't sound like a realistic name. Sorry for the rant.

It's called "monopoly". :-) Well, seriously speaking, I agree with you. Blizzard is charging more and more for less and less - an alarming trend. But they are only able to do so because other developers fail to deliver. Lack of serious competition encourages corporate greed like nothing else.

first of all, on the $10 pet, it is a retarded vanity item that simply adds to the 800 vanity pets most people already have, so if you somehow feel like you really NEED this thing and are therefore being forced to fork over another $10, maybe you should consider the fact that blizzard has you addicted to retarded vanity pets before you start worrying about your money.

second, i totally agree that blizzard has been getting more and more money and has been producing a crappier and crappier product, but you are exactly right about it being a monopoly. blizzard doesn't owe you anything, if you dislike their greed, stop playing their game. Of course, if there are no other decent games to play, then that blame falls on all the other terrible game studios, not blizzard.

i guess the point is that blizzard has a good product, but they are greedy bitches. if nobody else is capable of making a good product, then as a customer you are going to be stuck with either a bad product or with the greedy bitches. you still vote with your dollars, it just sucks that there is nothing good on the ballot.

Some people defend corporate greed to the grave, it's almost as if they have a stake in it .. hmmm

Or like NCSoft, putting out a 'special' boxed version of their asian grinder months after launch, that comes with items only someone who'd been playing for awhile would want?  Yeah, two vanity pets...that's just *vile*....

I think it launched almost a year before it did over hear. I'm not sure though. Just thought that it did.

I been having trouble just getting in. I really want to be a cute little fluffy char but I can't make any chars right now. it is annoying. I wish they would fix the servers and theres to many people playing it seem so it blocks people that really want to play.
