Graphics Card Choice

So I plan on purchasing a new computer fairly soon, I was dead set on the Radeon 5870 with a Intel® Core™ i7 920 2.66GHz (8MB Cache) Quad Core Processor. But I've been hearing that ATI doesn't run well Intel. Any truth to this?

Also, 5870 vs GTX 260. I'm fairly confident the 5870 is the better bargain, but not quite sure.

Thanks for the answers!

Edit *** Triple-Channel 1067MHz DDR3 vs 1333MHz DDR3. Is there any difference in these memory types or is the 1333 worth the extra money?

    No point in such rumors.

5870 is from another planet compared to 260.

Not much difference in memories, higher clocks make overclocking bit easier, performance difference is negligible.

I do plan to overclock the Processor, so would you say it's a better idea to go with the higher Mhz memory or no? 6gigs of 1067 = $50

    3gigs of 1333 = $50

With memory a higher clock affects how much data is transfered to and from memory.  With DDR3-1333 its about 14 GB/s, with DDR3-1067 its about 10GB/s  Chances are you won't be utilizing more data transfer/second then the size of your memory dimms.  Its better to go with more memory then more speed.

I run ati and nvidia cards in my intel based systems with no issues. The 5870 card is alot faster then the gtx 260 and gtx 280 cards. I think its the best bang for your buck at this time. I will be getting one myself here soon. Good luck on your build.

Hmm I figured the more memory would be the better deal. This solidifies it. Thanks for all the responses guys!
