I agree! You will have like 1,000 PRETEND females and few real ones. Good luck though.

Why do you want a girls only guild when you can be in a guild with the big boys, is that not why you started playing videogames in the first place? To compete with the boys and put our head's in the trash along with our chauvinistic ego's?

I think the replies to the OP are a pretty good reason to want an all female guild. Good luck.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

I started playing videogames to have fun. To complete with the boys, as you put it, is part of it but not the main reason.

I don't see any problem with someone wanting an All IRL Girls Guild. To each his own.

The OP wants a female player guild, not female characters.

There was one on the cenarion cirle server called "the Girls". Not sure they are still around I have not played wow in some time.

I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete.

There are quite a few females playing WoW so I actually can't see why this physically couldn't work. The question in my opinion is why you'd want it though.

The success of any group is dependent on the group having the same goals. A good guild is a subjective matter that follows this basic rule (and many others of course). If you want it to be a place where you hang out, make friends and talk to people you need to find people that want the same. If you don't care about the people around you and want to play the game for achievement, challenges etc. only you also wouldn't find people that in a lean-back fashion use the majority of their time chatting semi-afk. Then there's everything in between and all the other aspects you care about of course.

To be quite honest I don't see the point of setting up selection criteria for a guild that haven't got anything to do with the goal of the game itself. Whether people all speak same language, have the same color/sex/whatever doesn't really matter if they're morons or don't want the same with the game as you. If your goals is to prove a girl-only guild can go out and achieve/outperform the man dominated ones or there's some other kind of clear goal that has broad appeal, I could see you having an endeavor here that could lead to something big. If the goal is merely to get girls together and see what would become of it, it'll fail just like any other group that puts too different people together fails.

Because all women are cooperative, extremely intelligent, friendly and never result to such immature tomfoolery. Oh wait, they are sometimes even worse.

Girls Gone Feral on Farstriders is still around, I think (at least it was a few months back when I quit).  Female-only and great people too (at least all the ones I interacted with were friendly).

Hey, if all the man-haters from Women's Studies want to form a sexist and exclusionary clique, go right ahead. You'll be doing the guys a favour by not hanging with them.

Are you somehow unfamiliar with how a lot of guys seem to treat women who game?  Wanting a break from that doesn't mean they hate men.  What it might mean is that they don't have many male friends who play on the same server and if they do then the guilds those male friends are in don't do what these ladies in particular want or they don't treat them well.  Maybe your guild has guys that wouldn't think of acting like immature jerks to women if they joined (certainly every guild I have been in has been mature in this manner), but you have to bear in mind this isn't the case for MMO gamers in general.

I don't know what kind of answer you expect now.

After all it's just a guild and will have to deal with issues every guild will face at some time or the other. Like some other poster already said it's important that the members share a common goal.

In my time playing wow (as well as other MMORPGS) I met quite a few female players. Some played with their partner/husband. Some with their relatives/friends. Some looked for a relaxed and mature company. Some looked for high end raiding. And quite a few were somewhere in between the two extremes.

The danger in having a guild with a very exclusive membership is that it could degrade to "log in once a month/week" and the rest of the time play with your friends (no matter the gender).

I hate this know it all mentality about females and games.  If you didn't treat it the way you do, you would be shocked how many girls play games.  All you have to do is treat them like people *gasp*, or in your terms, all you have to do is treat them like another guy.

Grow up IMO, get laid, and move on.

Getting laid is not a requirement for treating women like human beings.

1 - the male harassment excuse is a myth. I have played many female characters in various games, and have experienced virtually no harassment. It's almost always equal treatment.

2 - If your guild has rules WRT fair and respectful treatment of all members, there is no need to segregate the sexes. Grow up.

Women are people, and so are men. Learn to deal.

Guilds excluding other players from joining based on gender, sexual orientation, race or religion, are not allowed in WOW.

But i suppose you could get round this by naming your guild in a very non-masculine way, and maybe make your tabard bright pink or something. That way no males would want to join your guild, even though you officially allow them ;)

-You may get a few gay people though, but at least you could talk about make-up and stuff with them :D

An all girls guild is a step backwards.

He probably means because sex is a strange thing to segregate gamers by. We'd collectively shout down male-only guilds as misogynistic, so....

Anyway, I don't personally have a problem with it. If I played World of WarCraft, I might even encourage my girlfriend to join such a guild, as male gamers aware of her sex seldom treat her in a way that is conducive to teamwork. Ventrilo is particularly fun:

    'Hello, people!'

    'What? Whose girl is that?'

Not 'Hey, who are you?' Not even, 'Who's the girl?' but, 'Whose girl is that?' Good times.
