Are you surprised with GM support? Bots and goldsellers? Look at Lineage 2. I can't believe people are actually surprised botters and farmers/sellers are running rampant.
You know... it may be possible that most of the AION players were not former Lineage 2 players? I for one never played L2 and only 10 or so of the 130 guild apps i've went through since launch indicated they had played L2.

There is a definitely a cultural divide - what people expect a company to do.
NA is probably home to an audience that is most demanding towards what they want to have - and I am not saying this is right or wrong - it is simply different from how other cultures deal with matters.
For example it could be that asians are less sensitive to someone getting ahead purely by buying their way to better gear - the are probably laughing at those who do this. There is a stronger sense of honor - getting the good because you deserve rather than buying them with real cash,
But in the US people are more sensitive to social status being bought via real cash as every day you can see someone flauting it, living in huge mansions, yachts etc. For a while games seemed like the last refuge that is isolated from money - but as money makes its way into the game there is a bigger backslash.
There are tons of bots because there are tons of players who buy the gold. It is that simple. You need to look at the gaming audience as a whole for answers.

You should actually be happy you didn't play L2 - chances are if you had, these bots would be driving you as mad as it is all those who had. I for one have recently stopped playing Aion as a direct result of the bots. Not that they effect me much in Aion, they just remind me of the ugliness they brought to L2. I just can't seem to play Aion without remembering L2 when I see the bots around, and thats enough to make me not even want to play it anymore.

lol u want an example of how bad this games customer support is go look at its general board on the official site.
Never played an NCSoft game before (well with the exception of GW and that hardly counts) and never will play one again.
