Cryptic Studios has announced today the addition of a new lair to the game called "Nemesis Confrontation". Nemesis Confrontation is a new five man lair for UNITY members (Level 40) that will see players confront the nemeses of all five members of their team, and should the heroes prevail, will lead to a final confrontation with a new evil: the Shadow Destroyer!
The lair will be introduced to the game in an update scheduled to launch on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009. The update will also contain an additional two costume sets, the Gladiatorial and Shadow Destroyer sets. These sets will be unlockable to players through certain achievements attainable within the Nemesis Confrontation lair, and will also be available for purchase at the C-Store.
And what's a lair without loot? There will be a number of rewards for players to earn, which you can read about at the official Nemesis Confrontation update page here.
A number of new screenshots from the Nemesis Confrontation update were also released, and you can view them in our Champions Online gallery.

Now the world can tremble before the might of Doctor Fancy Pants the Third! And his leigon of duckies and Bunnies!
no they will face the dreaded Bogan with his mighty VB powers, rat tail hairstyle and his pitbull terrier named muffins
on a more serious note. This is a very good idea for a dungeon/lair
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
So, instead of adding more content to reach 40, which is sorely needed. They add content at 40. This reaffirms my belief that the devs have no clue how to run an MMO. Hope they have better devs working on STO.
wow do you haters complain about everything first you complain theres no endgame then they add new endgame and now you complain theres not enough content to lvl to 40... idk if you just complain cause your a hater but wtf have you been they added tons of missions to help lvl up .. If you are here just to dawg at a game i suggest you look for a new hobby.. 10 bucks you play wow and are a 360 fan boy/girl
lol...you just lost 10 bucks. I don't even own a 360. I have a 6 month sub to this horrible game. I came back to try bloodmoon, only to realize how terrible they flubbed up that event.. I have lost all respect for Cryptic and the way they handle their MMO's.
If someone is too lazy to play the game to earn the costume pieces they can buy them in the store? Why bother even playing this game then?
Allow me to translate: "This game was not created by telepathically pulling stuff out of my head, and so therefore, I'm going to spend time online barking like a dog about it instead of shutting up, which is what real people do, and just finding another game to play."
Your beliefs, and your boundless expertise in the field of MMOs are of zero interest to me. Moreover, your posts, in this comment thread, have only convinced me that I like the game that much more. Feel free to peddle your ducks elsewhere. This is not a news feed you even need to be following. Save your scorn for your Twitter friends.

So, because you can't seem to come up with a rebuttal of why the devs ignore the complaints of the player base of their game, you decide to be negative? Your translation is a bit off, though. Actual translation:
"I can't believe I paid for a six month sub to a game where the dev team has no freaking idea what their doing. They ignore the numerous complaints on the forums, and continue to loose what's left of their population."
You were close though....lol. By the way, would you like to buy a duck?

Looks good to me, cannot wait to try this out once it hits live!

I might even have some respect for this opinion if it wasn't patently untrue.
They ran a poll about what content people wanted to see. 30-31 level band was one area, which has some generic content added. I think low 20's was another that got attention. However, the winner of that poll question was things to do at 40 or beyond. Well, they directly answered with the response that the majority of the players choose.
Here is the link to the poll:
http://www.champions-online.com/node/594618
18% want more 40s content and 51% want post 40s content. That's a pretty sizeable portion of the population that want endgame content. In fact, most people didn't want 1-20 content, and were happy to see 21+ stuff added. Contrary to your miguided opinion, they do listen to the players and address content at the levels the players have asked for. Now you can complain about what they added and how much they added, but they are only 2 months into their game. However, in those two months they have added far more content than most games do in a significantly longer time period.
If you want to complain about Champions, there are plently of things to complain about. However, listening to players and addressing wanted content gaps is not one of them. Oh, they have a pretty good idea on how to run a MMO too.

I must disagree. I think a lot of people left because of the content pre-40'. In fact, the major complaint when the game was released was lack of content. MANY people left because of it and the multitude of nerfs and bugs. Go back and read the forums from the beginning of September. There were a lot fewer "We need end-game content" threads, than the "We need content in the 30's". Unfortunately, I think the poll is flawed.
I'm glad they are finally adding fresh content. We all know the instances they added on MI were crap. If you are happy with the game, fine. I'm not. The complaints on the forums were left unaddressed. The population of the game dwindled. I would be surprised if the game had half the population of CoX.
My first thought exactly. Oh well.
People don't ask questions to get answers - they ask questions to show how smart they are. - Dogbert
We must be playing entirely different games then .. I've made it to 40 without any content problems. They filled in the gaps and if you do any pvp, use the new quest sharing system, use the nemesis system, or even played during the halloween event your pretty much ahead. Hell my current character is 34 and she still has like 8 level 33 quests to do and thats DURING the actual content gap. There is no low level content gap just some mission chains that are easy to miss.
They're missing variety of chains yes but there ARE currently enough to get to 40....but getting to 40 and having something to do everyday is the most lacking part of the game. We've had Low level Content and Mid level content released and a new PVP map..its only fair High Level content gets a bit of love too.
When people complain of 'lack' of content they're talking about a large variety like say in WoW where there's so much content you only need to do a select few chains to level. Champions has enough content to get you to 40 but its pretty much the same content over and over again for now.
Its about choice...If you'd rather have the peices right away for a new alt...you can 'choose' to buy it. If you'd like te peices for just the sake of having them then you can for no extra cost just earn them in game. People have been begging for content like this since the C Store opened. Now we're going to have bitchers that they do have it? Honestly they can't Win with some of you haters no matter what they do.
If there's no reasonable way to please you then don't Bother Posting at all your critisism means pretty much Nada to those of us that Like the game or have some reasonable expectations.
For the same reason everyone kept playing games legit whenever the Game Genie and Game Sharks were released...

Well lack of things to do at 40 is obviously the largest problem the game is facing right now. Tons of people are 40 now so it must not be too difficult. Problem is once you're 40 the game slows down completely and there is a complete lack of anything to do on most nights. We need this content more than anything else in the game period, anyone playing the game with a high level and has any common sense knows what i mean.

Flawed or not, it was a direct question of the forum base. It was answered in a fashion that clearly shows that people did in fact want to see end game content. Cryptic listened and here you have some content expressing a very clear customer request. There is no other conclusion to be drawn.
Do they need more content? Yes. The game shipped light.
Have the responded to areas that people are asking for? Yes. How much and how good can be debated. That they did so, can not.
Like any other game forum, CO has a small percentage of squeaky wheels which generate far more threads/comments than the so called "general population". Each of them has some kind of issue that is central to them, and they tend to spam the forums over and over with threads and comments. The poll I referenced is far more accurate a barometer than pointing to a bunch of threads without any indication of who started them, and how many people even agreed with them.
For the record, I do think that Cryptic has done an admirable job managing a game that needs both additional content, and had some balance issues early on. I'm glad they fixed hard and early and hope that it sets them up for a nice long run as a niche game; much like CoX. This does not mean that I think they don't have problems. They do. However, I'm happy with how they've gone about resolving those problems and it gives me hope that the title will mature into a very good diverse game.
