I know this isn't the right board but the real AO doesn't get much replies well none at all and alot of people look here so I was wondering if people could recommend AO for someone who was new at gaming. I mean, is it a fun game with a decent community, okay graphics, non repetitive?

Well, it's a pretty decent game. The graphics are a bit outdated now but still playable indeed. As for repetative...most MMOs are in one sort or another. The measure of which is soley up to your standards. Overall, it's free now. Give it a shot.
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."
AO is a bit dated.I think they are doing a graphics overhaul soon but it wont help a lot.For a person "new" to the genre its ok.Its not exactly scifi but more of a mix of scifi and fantasy.
Good points to it?:
1.For what it is not bad
2.Graphics showing some age
3.commuinity?Well every mmo claims to have the best one.
4.Repetitive?Yes and most every mmo is repetitive i cant think of one that isnt.
5.200 or so levels
The bad?:
1.After your umpteenth millionth mission in a building you realize it is the same as any of the others.
2.The high drama in it is ridiculous. This is one community that takes its game waaayy to serious.
3.Limited PvP if your into that.
If your new to this i would recommend City of Heroes instead. It is a great game to get into the genre and get a feel for an mmo.Not too complicated and quite addicting as well.the difference in AO and CoH missions?Well in CoH the missions have a story arc.Ao missions do not.BTW CoH has 50 levels currently its just a bit more relaxed of agameas far as levels go.
Want to ENJOY an mmo?
Dont start a guild and dont be a leader or volunteer to be coleader or captain.
Just play the damn game:)

There are so many other ways to level besides missions though. So if you don't feel like doing missions you really don't have to. So i'd say thats not really a bad thing about the game. Just a quick easy way to get xp/items if you don't feel like venturing out.
There are two kinds of people in this world. People who pick their nose.. and liars.

AO is worth it's price. FREE. Even the expansions with the montly fee is worth it if you pay by the year (about 45% off the normal price). Solid game, especially for noobs. 7/10
