I am really thinking about returning to FFXI it is the most fun I have ever had on an mmorpg the only thing that pissed me of so much was that I could never get the right amount of money to keep my chars updated. Anyone know of any ways I can stay up on money if I play Final fantasy again? AI crafting tips, farming tips and so on.

Well you will never have enough money iun this game, because the gill sellers raise the prices so much on items that people end up having to buy gil from them to afford the items they need...
However, start a new sub... and collect everything that you kill, be it crystals, or hides, or whatever, sell them.. and once you hit 10, start on another sub, and another and another.
now you should be making at least 20k from one lvl 1-10, and with all the subs you can do you can get alot more. With this cash you can buy yourself some mining equipment, or fishin equipment.
You then make lots of money doing this... lots and lots and lots.. and you can start crafting.. which takes a shite load of cash. Once you are really good at crafting however you have an almost unlimited supply of cash.. even more than the fishers and miners...
either way.. its a long process i couldn't be bothered to compolete and quit the gaem hehe.
Was that a thought I just had, or and echo of a thought I was thinking of having?

at higher lvls u can start to go NM hunting or do BCNM's.
most people hate to camp NM cause of the high competition and long wait for a spawn but its rewarding IF u get the drop.
BCNM is also good. finding a party for it is fairly easy but the monsters u fight are gonna b hard and finding good members to help fight is also hard. ive partied with a 40 RDM for BCNM 40 and she didnt have refresh...........
i prefer the NM (im another high lvl person who camps NM constantly and pisses people off wen i get the spawn and they dont, so u will always see me in valkurm dunes ^^)
i also go to gusgen mines to get some ore (i rarely go anymore)
and SOMETIMES ifrits couldren.
