[NEW] Invites new players to Darkfall for 30 days to Lean the Game

FuryMortisFuryMortis Member Posts: 5

MMORPG wrote a story about NEW, I thought I'd come here and make a post to clarify what NEW is and if anyone is interested in trying Darkfall, invite people to look NEW up to learn the game and start having fun quickly.

Newborn on Agon [NEW] is a clan on the North American server that was formed to aid the new player experience. The NEW goal is to grow the game of Darkfall, and we are happy that you have taken your first steps into the most intense MMORPG currently on the market.

The website is newbornonagon.guildplex.com/. Even if you choose not to join NEW, the website provides helpful links and training videos. Ask a question, introduce yourself, or look up the list of Counselors and Supporters to talk to in-game about how to do well in Darkfall.

NEW has been profiled by Aventurine in the Spotlight Forums and stories about NEW is on a number of websites:

www.onigamez.com/forum/showthread.php

And a bunch more!!!!

This clan is supported by almost all the major clans and alliances, but is 100% neutral in all actions. So if you are just joining Darkfall Online and want a chance to learn the game and get acclimated to a different type of gaming, you have come to the right place.

* NEW is a guild unlike any other guild that you will ever encounter in Darkfall Online.

* We are not a PvP guild, we are not a PvM guild.

* We do not roleplay - although there is no rule against it either.

* We do not form alliances, or take part in any wars with other guilds.

We offer a wide variety of help to newcomers, including things like:

  • * Armor
  • * Weapons
  • * Tools
  • * Information about Dakfall
  • * Ways to make gold in Darkfall
  • * Information about the various guilds
  • * Training assistance and techniques
  • * An introduction to the Agon community
  • * and a lot more besides!

If you are interested in joining, simply go to the forums on this site, read the rules and follow the directions on the forums to apply in-game. Directions are on the forums. No application is refused but all members are limited to 30 days in the guild. After 30 days, we hope you enjoyed your NEW Darkfall experience enough and met some friends along the way. There is probably a clan somewhere just for you!

We offer help for all templates, and all play styles. It doesn't matter if you want to be a player killer, a crafter, a gold farmer, or a murderous dictator with an army of minions at your beck and call - we can help start you on your way!

Even if you'd prefer to go it alone, feel free to ask for advice and information about Agon.

We're here to help!

We have a Mumble voice server with directions that you can find on the website.

You know, I really dont like Darkfall, but I have to say the idea of this guild is probably one of the best ideas ever.

This shows that there is a community within the game that really wants people to get the hang of the game and figure out the ins and outs.

In AO our guild along with 3 others had a single Omni alt guild that was designed to keep the main roster clean as well as to help people who were new to the game learn how to play and a chance to advance to the ranks of one of the three guilds in the alliance. Even if they chose to move onto another guild that was not part of the alliance more power to them.

The alts would mainly act as instructors and we would also run them through missions and pvp to help them learn.

Again, great idea and hope it all works out for you :)

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

These NEW guys got started up about a month after I joined. I'm sorry I missed out.

Kinda reminds me of EVE University.

When players care about a game to this degree and take the initiative to aid new players in getting acquainted with how things work, I think it's a good sign.

So far its working out great.  We have 140 members all within the 30 day limit, there are 20 people on the Mumble server pretty much all the time, and about 30-40 members online learning the game during peak times.

We also have support of nearly ever major alliance and clan in the game.  Some people stay Hammerdale is the most secure city on the server because everyone that really loves this game understands its steep learning curve.

    =)

Thanks for the compliment.  It's actually modeled after a clan that existed on Siege Perilous called "Newborn on Siege".  You can find the old site here:  siegeperilous.net

Very good idea and implementation.  This game is so unforgiving and outside the mainstream of what the vast majority have experienced in mmorpgs for the last 10 years, that a support group like this for guidance is helpful.

People tend to judge a book by it's cover a bit too much. Sad but true. And yeah, if you do judge a book by it's cover, DarkFall is a terrible game filled with immature player. Though once you open the book for the first time, you realise it's actually not that bad.
