    From www.myextralife.com:

Today's comic is meant to be a poke in the eye of EQII players.

    Scott - Mon Jan 24 11:08:52 EST 2005

I have a pretty friendly rivalry going with my brother in law, who is currently playing EQII. There is a bit of a feeling in the EQII community that WoW is for babies and immature wieners. I am at a loss for why they think this way. Simply put, WoW is far more fun that any MOG has a right to be, and much less of a chore to play. Heaven forbid the game a game is FUN anymore. And hey, 600k players can’t be all idiots. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

If you have to compare MMORPGs (which people compare, then play for months) with pop music (which is throwaway) then you don't really have much of an "arguement" (learn to spell) in the first place.

And if you really need to bring Britney Spears into it, you're probably better off giving up and climbing back into the incredible online world of The Matrix Online.

I really wish I was in the same MxO beta as you are though. The one you're in sounds awesome.

It's both :)  I love ExtraLife, the guy is a genius!

He's making fun of both WoW and EQ2.

If you don't get it, well... you're just gonna have to think a bit harder.  ExtraLife's comics are a bit more intellectual compared to GUComics... not that I hate GUComics... I tend to laugh more at GUComics lately considering ExtraLife has been going on and off the MMORPG jokes lately.  Like that whole Half-Life skit with the robot... oh god how I wanted that series to end and go over to something new.

Well lets see here, which game shall I play....  WoW, where the servers constanly crash or have 16 hours of downtime, lots of unscheduled maintenance, 131 errors, 132 errors or EQ2 which doesnt have nearly the server problems but isnt as good a game.  Hmm.   I'd go with EQ2, at least you can actually play.

yet, the game sold out in every store in my city, on the release after the recall. And you're smart, you can always go on lower pop servers.

Firemagic, please don't resort to bashing peoples spelling. Not everyone spends fifteen minutes looking over their posts for errors.

Not everyone here has english as their native language, it doesn't mean we are badly schooled idiots who could never learn how to spell. How good are you at dutch or swedish? Just because someone tend to spell a few words incorrectly, I still think he or she has as much right to be here as you do, so please stop attacking people's spelling, it's totally irrelevant and uncalled for, regardless where they're from.

Funny how people jump on the tiny three-word part of my post that has nothing to do with the discussion.

First off, the guy is from NY, and judging by the rest of his posts he is articulate and intelligent and his English is very good. He messed up the spelling of one word, and I corrected him. It wasn't meant to be the big deal that crybabies like you are making of it.

If me correcting people's spelling really makes you hurt inside just ignore it, or seek counselling or whatever. If you can't do any of the above, just get over it.

    Fire,

I know what you are saying.

I played Earth and Beyond- liked it... but got bored.

I played DAoC, really tried to like it, was bored, stayed bored, even went back before the WoW release just to make sure I would still be bored.

I played EVE. I liked it. It's a gankfest modeled on the corporate world. I wasn't bored.... but I wasn't happy.

    Then there is WoW....

I swore up and down I would NEVER kill another forest creature ever again in a newbie area. No not me... never never never.

WoW made me a liar- and damned I'm having a good time.

Yeah, and of course you checked to make sure he was american before you started bashing? RIGHT! image

LOL, Pretentious people are so funny, I really love your "Mr. Perfect" attitude. The only pain I feel right now is from laughing. I don't think it's me who needs counselling, if people's spelling is such a big issue for you, I think it's YOU who has a problem.image

You may or may not have noticed that Sygmas posts on these forums quite a lot, as do I. I make a habit of reading people's profiles and as a matter of fact I had previously read Sygmas' profile, learning of his status as an American.

If you need to tell yourself that I'm lying with absolutely no evidence and contrary to the factors I've outlined, then please go ahead with your self-delusion.

I'm sorry that three trivial words in my post have caused you so much heartache and I hope you can make a full recovery in the near future.

You are judging all server based on the people bitching about 20 of them (out of 80). You CAN play the game if you are smart enough to switch servers. Ive been saying it everywhere I could, Magtheridon has no problems. 3/4 of servers have no problems.

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

    I'll try a different approach:

Of course it's kind of you to bring to people's attention, when your superior intellect encounters a huge obstacle in the texts they formulate, but a little politeness never hurt anyone, and I'll be damned if it'll hurt you, even though you are image

I find it funny when people like Firemagic take on the role of being english school teachers and Mr. Know It All's.  Since when is it a crime that somebody made a spelling mistake?  Good god it ticks me off.  Im so sorry Firemagic that everybody on these forums might make a mistake and upset you enough to tell them to learn to spell.  (I find it even more hilarious when people criticize spelling, and then make their own mistake-Firemagic you forgot to put a space in between 2 words image)

Then I see that you try and make your defense by saying that nobody should be discussing those "three" little words that you said about spelling mistakes.  Why the hell did you put them in your post in the first place?  Of course it was your intention to make people want to discuss it, get upset over how perfect you think you are, and have the attention centered around you.  How can you call us "crybabies" when you where the one being a total immature cry baby crying about one spelling mistake? Get over yourself.

Just to tell you and irritate your perfect-ness, I found several grammatical errors throughout your posts.  I dont see why you had to come into this thread and start trolling to start a flame war.  You may say that it was not your intention with your "three little words" to take over this thread, but it was indeed.  If you hadnt intended to do it then you wouldnt have put them in in the first place.

ROFL. This has gone far beyond hilarious. Does anyone even remember what this thread was about? Oh yes, that's right.... A CARTOON!!! ROFLMFAO!!!!

Seriously though this has gone too far. Thanks to your post I've finally realised how simple words can actually wreck people's lives. I sincerely hope you can start to pick up the pieces and move on soon.

I hereby solemnly vow to be as polite as possible when correcting people's spelling.
