I am sure many of you will continue to find many things to whine and complain about (because that is your nature), but at least this news shows that NCSoft is taking some actions (which some of you hyperbolized would never happen).
They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair. Played: UO, DAoC, AC, WoW, EVE, TR, WAR, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, GW2, TSW, ESO, Elite:D Play EVE for free for 21 days
Over a month ago they banned like 35k of course the next week i saw more gold spam and bots.

Every MMO has bots, and I mean EVERY one. There is no avoiding it. Its just that some MMO's hide it better then others. NCSoft has been known for being lax on bots and spammers etc, but with Aion I have at least seen an attempt to remove them. If you cant learn to ignore some things in a game then you will be looking for an MMO without bots for a very long time.

Eh, shouldn't have to learn to ignore things like that. Developers and Customer Service really need to prevent that sort of thing from happening as best they can so the player wont notice it as much as they do in a game like Aion. Seeing like one or two bots now and then is different from seeing a bot everytime you blink.
If the team is willing and able to combat this issue from the start and not let it grow unattended to become the visual problem that it is, then players will be less apt to complain about it.
Ostrich Syndrome is not something a consumer should learn to use. Burying your head in the sand and pretending its not there will only make a situation get worse as well as let a company become more lazy.
There are 3 types of people in the world. 1.) Those who make things happen 2.) Those who watch things happen 3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

Here is where i have to commend NCSoft for doing something about the bots etc, in Aion, so they banned 16k accounts, im pretty sure their still looking at any bots that are left, or people that look like they might be botts, with a view to future bannings. and fair play to them, as long as players keep reporting suspected bots too, that can only help. CCP also is a company keen on dealing with these players, or none players even, i would say, that its a sign of a companies continued interest in developing/protecting their game, and their playerbase, in continuing operations against RMT's and botters, so even if you dont like Aion, you kind of have to respect them for their efforts. and yeah, you dont have to learn to ignore these things
if people had given up wow because of the bots after the first few months it would have stayed at 500 k game . i remember them taking over whole areas of asteroth .how quickly people forget what other games were like upon releast or maybe they think every other game never had bots or gold sellers or rubberbanding or bugged quests . if anything aion is a smooth ish release compared to most mmos including warcraft . its quite simple dont buy the bloody game at release if you dont want problems because your never gonna get a perfect release wait 5-6 months then try it or wait for the free trial .

The only games I have played with lots of bots are the Korean games. My main game is LOTRO and bots are almost non-existant (as are the gold spammers) and are dealt with quickly. Two years ago I came from Maple Story to LOTRO thinking that gold buying was normal (as MS was my first MMO). So I bought some in game money from the company I did business with in MS and received it through the mail in LOTRO. The next day I got a nasty mail from a GM telling me that if I did that again I would be banned. Turbine takes gold selling seriously. NCSoft does not. That is the difference.
Thank you for telling us this story.
I'm really please to hear that Turbine have the right approach. Assuming I let my subscription to Aion die - due to lack of tangible action to solve this problem - I may well take a look at LOTRO.
I tried again last night to play this game but once again found myself levelling beside 6 bots and 2 real players.
I still really like the game but just cannot accept the community of cheats that have settled there.
One thing I find funny is no one at all its giving any credit to the bots! What I mean is if bots were only in Aion I would blame Ncsoft. But they are in every MMO that has a good enough economy to support them. So that tells me that none of these companies can stop them. So that means these guys are pretty darn good! We always blame NCsoft, or what ever company our games is connect to. When are we going to start looking at the real problem..the goldselling companies! They are the reason that you don't want to play Aion. I say we banned together and file a lawsuit against them or something that doesn't involve QQ on a forum. Its like if you got raped and blamed the police. You want to the bots gone?! Come up with a plan instead of dumbass stuff like " hire more GMs" " Banned them on the spot" these things are obvious temporary solutions that could never help the issue. The only real solution would be to ban the use of macros and this would piss everyone off. Its obvious that there is only so much these companies can do to stop these guys but instead of QQ start a thread on what WE can do!! Its your game do something about it or STFU!!!!

Well, some of those games have only bots for crafting or gathering. NC soft is famous for having most bots and the most advanced in their games.
Most games have a few bots that you easily can report in if you spot them and then they gets banned. L2 is quite the opposite where bots are openly accepted.
NC soft must learn that this might work well in Korea and China but in the west they will lose a lot of players unless they fix this. And there is probably none 100% fix but 99% or even 95% is good enough. Bots is a serious issue since they give an extreme advantage compared to non cheating and will mess up any game, particularly one with a lot of PvP.
The alternative would be making bots legal and put them in officially. That would at least be fair to everyone and make it hard for the goldsellers. I am not sure that it is a good idea however but it is still better than forbidding them but do nothing against them.

Lets be logical for a moment. I sure a hell believe that Ncsoft wants nothing to do with bots and they hae plagued their games because of the foriegn sister company in the east. So its not that Ncsoft wants to do nothing its that these botters are pros. MMO's make profit over time these bots all but destroy that profit. It would be ridiculous to believe NC wants to do nothing about it. Another reason NCsoft is plagued the most is that their games are played by a lot more people...more people equals more gold sold. This is the worst I have ever seen of bots but not the last. What they should do is get rid of macros..this would stop botting in its tracks!

Turbine also has a fraction of the servers that aion. Same with population. It is a lot harder to respond to situations and hand out bans when there is a higher volume of players.
Yes, that explains why WoW is overflowing with bots right?
I swear every time I come on this forum to see how the game is doing, the excuses for it's problems keep getting worse and worse.
The issue the bots are presenting is that it's destroying the economy. Usually a telling factor with how bad a game is with bots is look at the RL price of in-game money. If the price starts to fall, then that usually means there is way too much of it in the gameworld. This usually happens due to bots.
In Aion, the price of Kinah has significantly went down since launch. In fact it's gone down low enough where it's more economical (in terms of time) to buy kinah at the low price that it's at right now then to do the equivalent of 5 hours grinding to get the same amount.

Despite me thinking that quitting a game because of bots is just plain silly, here is some good news for you QQ quitters:

Just have to say that I have never seen a bot or gold farmer in Ryzom.
