Yo people, so me and my friends from school have been working on this little MMO made with a OE xtremeworld and vb scripts, not to hard to create. It's a 2d mmo and we're desperate for Open Beta players, we currently got 17/30 signed up.
The game is ofcourse online 24/7 and we will have a server located in Sweden (Europe) and America.
The max level you will be able to get will be 30 (On the beta) And about 100 in the finnished game, to gather experience you do that you usually do in the games - questing and killing mobs and maybe do a instance or two.
The first instance starts at lvl 5 and is called Rat Hell, you can be there and grind/quest with a 2-3 man group untill you turn lvl 10, then the next instance is available for you, Vampire Cathedral. It may be hard for a lvl 10 and i'd recommend getting to about 12 first, you can stay there untill your about 20, then you can just head to the Langura Sewers which is 20-30.
You will always have quests but it's not always the fastest way, we're working on not making it a grindgame exp wise.
At lvl 8 your PK cap goes away and players is free to attack you in certain zones, the penalty for dying is about 10% exp, but the penalty for the killer (If you don't fight back) will result in him getting a red name, he will get killed by city guards/outposts guards and by killers (Killers who play a PK won't get a penalty) he will then loose 30% exp and stuff from his inventory.
A player can own a house alredy from lvl 1, you can also create a guild from lvl 1 and if your rich enough you can purchase a guildhouse. Guilds can also gather and start a guild war and your then allowed to kill players of the other guild.
There is 6 classes:
Warrior (A warrior can specc either into Strength or Defense, a STR warrior will be pretty strong and dangerous if well played, a defense warrior will be a pain in the arse to take down. The mix of STR and DEF is a good way to go if your a casual player)
Cleric (A cleric is the healer of the game and should specc for Magic and Str, they don't very many attack spells but is strong as a warrior if they're str capped.)
Assassin/Rogue/Thief (NAME NOT DECIDED) (Is a typical DPS class, they can specc for the DEXterity and STR and are then very fatal if not noticed in the right time, they can buff themselves with alot of stuff and is a quickhitter, with a good weapon they are strong in both pvp and pve, but mostly wanted for PVP)
Wizard (Is the magic-class of the game they use all kind of magics to take down the monsters, they can buff alot and slow down they're foes to quickly run away and strike him again, they are the perfect class for a nice instance play or ranged Pvp)
Archer (Is the ranged class of the game, they use strong arrows and magics to slow down, paralize and kill the other player or monster, they are squishy if you get close to them but deadly if your far away)
Sangalock (Or the "lock" is a strong magician who uses dark and evil magics to sicken and kill the monsters, they are deadly but also very easy to kill as of their low defense, however they do get deadly wands they can use in close-quarters)
So that's alil about the classes. Btw, there will OFC be raids for all from 5 to 20 players and will drop very good loot for the players, and if you get bored from the guild wars random pking or chatting you could always go to the arena to slaugther some players; it's not like normal arenas when you just fight. In the middle of the arena there's a "Arena-Coin" that you need very much for getting PVPbased gear, and there will be alot of people there waiting for that special coin, so your gonna have to fight your way through.
And about the creators, we're 3 teenagers from Sweden who is 14 15 and 17 years old. If you have any stupid or meaningless flaming comments about this, i won't read em. If you wanna be a beta tester check out lightshadeonline.tk . It's a bad webs site atm and we're working on something better Sorry if i had bad english or something like that, as i am swedish.. ))
And sorry for the wall of text, cya all

“Epic Tale of Fail” by Granite
I remember my first days of creating online games using the Playerworlds Engine, as they were filled with times of joy and self accomplishment. Although I picked up really quickly on the engine and how to use it, I was still new to the whole game making scene. I had my mistakes, I was young, but I was humble about the way I made my games. I took the advice of my experienced community I joined to better my game, myself and the way I brought fun to the online community experience. Even though I am still making games today, I have decided to start doing reviews on games made the same way mine was made. This is my first review entitled “Epic Tale of Fail”.
Game: Light Shade Online
Website: www.lightshadeonline.tk
Owner: As I can tell it isn’t really made clear through the site, but the contact GM was named Admin Sid.
{Note: First I will be reviewing the Website for the game.}
I found this game through the www.onrpg.com forums for free online games. Through the post people were already ripping the game to shreds due to the way the website was made. Although I quite agree the website was horrendous, I still viewed this as this person’s first game. So I will look past the type of site used but I will say the way the site was set up was still horrendous through the way it looked. The site uses the website making applications forums instead of something a whole lot better that can be used (I prefer Phpbb or even proboards if you can’t work phpbb). I decided to check out the screenshots of the game to get a good look what I was getting myself into. There were no screenshots in the game and that told me only one thing. That told me the people on this game were too lazy to take a screenshot, edit it all nice and stuff in Photoshop and present it on their site. When People come to your site, 9 times out of 10 they are going to look at the screenshots you got on your site. This game is really losing about half of its possible player’s base with this mistake. The reason being is no one is going to download a game they cannot take a gander at before playing. The game download even though fast and quick, does not save this game in the game review.
Game Review
When starting up the Client I viewed this very nice, very clean Account Screen. Then after creating an account I found all the other screens to be generic bland boring GUI. When choosing classes I will note that the class builds are very wrong indeed, the stats do not meet what that class would regularly use. Like a warriors speed being higher than an Assassin. The build was not a good eye sight at all and this point I was really starting to not want play the game.
When first logging in the starting map is cluttered with NPC’s (even lvl 1 Rats to kill). There were some NPC’s to get quests from, but due to the poor site of the starting area I decided to go over to the next map. When on the next map I discovered a RARE NPC called the albino bat. I decided “Since this is the only one and its rare let me see if I can kill it.” I started to attack the bat and discovered I could damage it. When starting out you do not lose exp when you die so after dying after the bat killed, I walked back over and started going at him again. After 4 tries I was able to kill the bat and not only get some good exp, but enough to level up to level 2. Then I discovered it had some item drops, which was a sword and piece of equipment. The equipment was so good it prevented mobs 15 levels higher to hurt me. So now I am going around and leveling up fast on the albino bats (which I could kill without getting hurt now) and other mobs that gave a good bit of exp. So now I am just searching the maps and exploring the mapping work of the developers. The maps were all together to tightly, meaning that there would be a map and an instance change of scenery. You would be on one map and a Line would separate the snowy area from the desert area. There were so many different types of places that only had 1 – 3 maps of it. Then the mapping itself was not even professional at all. They were simple maps with no depth or creativity added to the mapping. This game was not scrolling so the developers where already limited with space on the map. When a map is mostly 1 ground layer with ground it turns players away quickly. They love playing games that are well thought out, well planned with nice graphics, maps, and mapping that shows creativity and uniqueness.
Also when collecting items, all over the surround beginners area where maps that already had items on them which other players had left I take it. So quickly my inventory was filled with all kinds of items, keys, equips, and other misc. objects.
Just as I was about to log out and start writing this review the in game admin sent me a message that said “How are you able to kill all these high level mobs?”, at this I was stunned that was the first thing he said to the only player playing his game at that time. I have been around these communities for a very long time so I seen cases where administrators develop a game so poorly unbalanced that players level up quick and can take out stronger mobs. This game owner not actually knowing probably how horribly unbalanced his game his is probably going to want to ban me because he believes I was “Hacking” his game. So I replied to him “Basically, you guys developed this game really poorly game that is why.” Then I began to explain to him why his game was poorly developed to maybe help him out and give a few pointers until the game window disappeared and a little box popped up saying “You are banned yada yada yada, if you don’t like it don’t play?” So I closed the window and opened up Microsoft word and we are here now.

Final Thoughts
My final Thoughts to this game and its maker(s) are simply this. Firstly you got to put your ego behind you, or you are not going to go anywhere making an online game. When other people are actually telling you things are wrong with your game, then ask them why they think that. Then you might get some good insight on how to make your game better, on how to make your game actually playable. You would even actually be able to keep players playing. If you need help ask for help, let people give their opinions and criticism because that is what this is all about, you are trying to work at get better at doing something you like. Who better to tell you things like this than your players, because obviously you don’t listen to them if you just ban them from the game with an attitude like you did to me. Fix your mistakes before you jump the gun to assume someone hacked a game that simply does not need hacking to begin it.

I read your wall of text.
I played this game and hated pretty much every second. I expected something just a little more refined.

Thank you for the review
I love Free MMORPG
I agree completely with you. The game is very poor in every aspect, I've played the game a few hours and checked out the forums, and I have to say your review is very, very flawed.
Although it is really mostly Dev incompetence for leaking the download link on the website, only certain closed beta players labeled "Headstarters" were allowed to play. You actually weren't one of them, the evidence presents itself in your post. I didn't create any account, mine was given to me by emailing their dev team. Secondly, you jumped at the conclusion the GM thought you were hacking. He never said you were hacking, he was simply asking you how you were able to kill high leveled mobs, probably knowing that there are bugged, design flawed monsters like the RARE bird you stated. You assumed, and blew up in the GMs face, no wonder you got banned.
Now I'm not saying this is a great game, actually it sucks pretty bad. BUT Zanpher, your review is invalid and flawed.
