So I was looking into Aion and I have a few questions:
I cant seem to find a solid answer on this but how much of a grind is it? Is it more akin to Everquest or FFXI in leveling or is it like WoW, AoC, or WAR ? As in is it a solo leveling system or does it require a balanced group to accomplish anything in the game?
Also how much of a grind is it to level, I have played several NCsoft games in the past and they seem to vary wildly on the speed of leveling from grueling to incredibly fast? I dont mind grinding mobs to level as long as it doesnt require a full group at all times and takes 7-8 hours to gain almost every level. At this point in my MMO career I am pretty much done waiting several hours to find a balanced group so that I can farm the same 3 mobs for 9 hours straight to gain 1 level.
I dont mind balance issues, and things of that sort because I know these are things that change constantly in the MMO realm so I am mainly looking to make sure that gameplay is fun and enjoyable and that the core is solid, the frills and extras come later.
Oh, also is PvP finished? As in is it working properly, im not talking balance, but I mean early WAR style problems with sieges and whatnot.
Thanks in advance for the responses.

I do not have any feelings or emotions invested in this either way but I wanted to answer your question honestly and without Troll or Fanboi bias. I hope this helps you.
If you want a game that you can level up fast. This is NOT the game for you.
If you want a game where you enjoy slowly leveling up over time and repeptitive quests then this is the game for you.
The leveling is more along the lines of Lineage 2 or EQ.
Grinding is generally grueling and doesn't necessarily require groups, sometimes you get better XP when you solo. Other times you get better XP when you group. It all just depends on your level, where you are grinding at and the levels of the people in your party.

I know threes been alot of posts about aion being associated with grind. So far from what Iv experienced this is far from actuality. Yes there are quests that are go to X and kill mobs, but the story is developed enough to where you wont even notice it and before you know it you will be emersed into the game deep into the story before you may encounter anything similar to straight grinding. Theres alot of cutscenes that ncsoft does well, that enhances alot of the quests...Iv been telling everyone that asks i think its the best mmo thats been released since Wow, and i new it the second i loged in to a trial chinese account months ago before i actualy bought the north american version of it. There is no learning curve, its a get in do your thing, and not have to wait for anything or not have anything to do, there is a billgillion things to do, and when you get done with your ascension quest and into the main part of aion is when everything comes togather. Aion is a win win kinda game, if its not your cup of tea you wont be dealt a blow, and if you think its the greatest thing since wow, then thats what it will be and you wont lose that feeling.
If AION call your attention, just try it, its the only way to you know if its "your" game or not.
If someone convince you NOT to play the game, you might never know how this game can be great for you.
If someone convince you TO play the game, you might end curse him cause u waste your money.
Im loving this game so far, having fun every single night i play it, but thats me, you need to check for yourself
