Because, this is how it will start. Just like WoW and every other game that abandoned their core player base. At first it will be just separate servers. Then the non pvpers will outnumber the pvper and ask to play side by side with pvpers and etc etc. This will also split development between casuals and hardcores, pvers and pvpers, whatever you want to call the different groups. I know it's just an idea, but it is a terrible one.
I hate darkfall the game, I am in no way a fan of the game. However, I am an extreme hater of developers who abandon their player base. They should keep to making the game better for the niche they are trying to capture. I am not in that niche, but a lot of people are.

Something along the lines of both parties would need to accept an invite to enter into combat with each other.
For example, player one would target player two and select 'invite to pvp'. Please keep the number of threads regarding this down to a manageable number as we will be moderating this subject fairly heavily. We must stress though that at this stage, this is just an idea, but we do need to cater for all tastes, even non violent ones.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It would be sweet if it was done up sort of like SWG and you could PvP at towns and such that are controlled by other guilds. In fact, I am sure if they did decide to go with a server like the one mentioned that this game might actually grab a LOT of people that miss the old SWG days, although from the posts on this site I would hope half of their computers would just self-destruct. But it is obvious that AV has a PvP game from the get go and I do not think that if they DID open a server like this that they would abandon the people that that has supported them from the start. I would hope so anyway...

Because a server like that would kill the pvp servers. Imo they should restructure the world map and give DF a Empire space type continent in the middle of the map. Then you would have pve guys playing the way they want yet still keeping the pvp server pop decent. Eve does this and has a very nice population numbers wise. It would have 20k people playing without empire space.
This would be better then a completely new server imo. They should work with what they got, instead of splitting up the population.

I mean i hate Darkfall but just because there pvp imo is laughable (we are all entitled by our own opinion) But wow yeah that caught me off guard i mean i wouldnt dought it coming from Tasos and his money but still thats almost like admiting defeat if you put this post side by side with post he made before launch about never changing DF's idea's for no one and how it will be hard place to live and violent for everyone to this Carebear shit.
