Ok, what the hell? Something's going on. This game may have a patch coming...

First the visits to darkfall spiked to a rediculous level (over 2 million unique users over the year or whatever), then the user rating within a months time went from like a 4.5 to a 7, and then all the posts turned positive.

Yet nothing about the game has changed.  The patch hasn't come yet.  The game is still in it's crappy state, that countless posts on this forum have noted.

So there's something fishy going on here.  They must be posting positive posts, creating new users and rating it positive, because this game in my opinion is still a 4.5.  Nothing has changed it's still under developed, piece of crap game.  Only jail bait play it, which might be good that these idiots are spending all their time online instead of out on the streets.

you are saying 2 million people have tried Darkfall? Nothing against Darkfall but....epic fail. You need to divide big time.

There is quite a difference between 2 million people having watched the Darkfall page and 2 million people actually trying the game. That said, 2 million sounds like quite a lot, and I'm not going to completely dismiss the thought that some people have tried tampering with the statistics. However, there has been a lot of talk, good and bad, about Darkfall, hence a lot of people have probably checked out its page.

The posting says 'the visits to darkfall', nothing bout watching Darkfall. So fail. And no I'm not being a douche I just roll my eyes when people try to prove something when there is no evidence. The OP said nothing about watching it, only visiting. Visiting, as in, playing because you're visiting the world, not watching. If everyone 'visitied' an MMO, in your terminology, then no MMO would be cancelled.

It's really just a matter of me seeing that he probably means "unique hits" when he says visits, seeing as there has been around 2 million unique hits on the Darkfall page. You can see this by checking under "most popular". So really, I just think a little about what he means, rather than just stating that he's failed.

Not that I really care that much, but I assumed he meant vists to either the webpage, or hits via mmorpg.  I highly doubt he meant played the game.

I dont care to debate semantics with you, I just think it was pretty obvious what he was trying to say.

If you did not care to debate semantics then why reply? a visit means you went somewhere. I went to california so i experienced it. if you visit darkfall you went there. i would think 'visit' would mean playing then going to a website. have him say what he meant, i don't care. but you commented on what i said when a visit can, clearly, imply that 2 million people have played the game. going to a website seems like unlikey, to me. you wanted to object to it.

God. It was pretty damn obvious what he meant, really. Stop being an ass. Can we just get on from this? I don't really think "visit" was such an illplaced word really. Afterall, no "place" where you are at while sitting at a computer is really a physical place. You can visit a website just as well as you can visit a virtual world.

No... for those that arent dense, and have been following DF on MMORPG.com there has been a rather massive surge in "Hits" to the website, over 2 million in the past few months. Thats a rather large number of hits and since MMORPG does advertising thats a lot of impressions that advertisers are not going to want to pay for if its not legit traffic.

Regardless, you assumed the OP was talking about the game, which could be an easy assumption if you hadnt been keeping up on the recent debates about the game. However, once it was pointed out and you keep harping on it... you are either dense, or just being obstinate.

So hold on...I am being ass because I responded to this post, in a non-ass way, and you responded to my post in an ass way? and was it pretty obvious? i mean, umm..., we are the only 2 that responded to this ad so if you want to do the math and base it on 2 people then is it 50/50. His posting was ambiguous. You took it your way and I took it mine.i could care less if he/she/it responds and said i'm wrong. the word 'visited' was used. nothing was said about visiting the website and nothing was said about playing the game, so we are both wrong.

Looks like we've got the Darkfall fan rampage, again. Like we did pre-release in which they ALL started coming here and setting the hype on the game to full in order to get attention for it. As encouraged by Twatface.

Because WoW, Aion and WAR had no hype at all.

Fact is that a load of people who never played the game gave low reviews based on bad press. The bad press was caused by darkfall bringing new gameplay to the genre and reviewers not knowing how to handle a game without auto-targeting and cute pets.

No game yet was as overhyped as DFO was. It was going to be perfect, ground-breaking and amazing, from day one. It would be feature complete, RP-heavy and totally immersive. Zounds of amazing features were ready to be launched.

And yet, this was not delivered. People got pissed, angry mobs ensued. Is this really that strange or hard to understand?

Heh, again, the classic "DFO is hardc0r3!" kind of nonsense. Get your "facts" straight before writing something. Most of the people who post criticisms actually play/played and contribute to the discussion and improvement of the game.

Haven't you realized that anything but blind devotion to Darkfall and Aventurine gods will automatically brand you as a hater and a troll? It's the way of the Tasos.

Yes, see here is the problem "I would think", thats where we are having the problem, most seem to think the opposite of what you thought.  No visit does not "clearly" mean that people played darkfall.  I Dont know what you mean "going to a website seems like unlikey"  I dont know what that means, so im not sure how to respond to that.  What does "unlikey" mean?

That probably contributed, but it was more-so because the game really was pretty bad in a lot of ways at launch... and thats when it was most heavily rated. Apparently it has improved over the last year, and numbers are coming up.

Heh yeah it was hyped up but Like I always say the MMO in your head is always better than the real thing.

When you logged into DF and realized the game had no pve, was a grind and you got ganked the second you left a outpost area you no longer were on the hardcore pvp bandwagon.

DF sounds fantastic until you get owned and the realization hits that a game in almost 9 years of developement will look out of date compared to new mmos.

I watched thousands of fans turn on DF due to graphics, gankers, grind and lack of pve. Which would should have been expected.

Watching thousands of players scream for a Pve based sandbox a week after DFs release was pretty epic imo.

I just picked the game up a couple weeks ago and I love it.

Graphics never sold me on any game, but these aren't bad and don't detract from the game at all.  If anything I'd say with how dark it gets at night and how bloody my toon looks when I'm low on health, I'd say these are some the the most realist graphic's I've seen.

PvE = fun.  It'll be better (assuming they give us what they say in the next patch) but I love that when I'm kickin' a mobs ass it tries to run and get it's health back.  I've never played with my penis while playing a game, and the way this game works makes that impossible to do, so I can see why some people would have a problem here.

PvP = true point that has been lost in games.  Sure I'd like to be a spoiled brat and complain that I'm not getting my way.  But the truth is, there is a whole new level of excitement when I look in my backpack and see that I have 500 gold in there, and I just saw an arrow fired from another player wiz by my face.   It's scary, it's exhilarating , it's fun

Crafting = I have hated it in every game I have ever played.  And I've never done it.  However, in this game, I wouldn't say it's needed, but I do it because I want to.  I want to because I don't wanna be a steangthless wuss.  You actaully increase your own stats by crafting.  I do it because I don't wanna be ripped off by other players that have to craft my stuff.  All other games everyone know crafting is useless because better gear is always found on mobs.  There is gear on mobs but not better than what you can craft and enchant.

Fun = more fun when you have 5 or 6 orcs standing outside the city gate, chatting with other players on where they are, where to go to get a better shot, whats going on, the fast action pace of it, and then the joy of knowing you killed one, but also the fun that he doesn't just go away he gets revived and is looking to kill me even more now.  Man, thats a blast.

I hate being ganked by asses hunting in noob land as much as the next guy.  And I'm not going to lie, some jackass continually kept trying to kill me.  However the next day I was ready and pwned him when he came for me.  Another time I played the jackass and pk'd some afk reds multipule times until they came back from afk and treated me like they're redheaded stepchild.

This game is fun, prefect no, right for everyone, no.  Hate if you must, but for those that can understand they aren't the center of the universe, then this is a really good game.
