Running out of options, need some new suggestions.

Its that time again....

I'm looking for a new MMO to call home, and I'm running out of options. I've played through many games and have gotten burnt out because of lack of community, or just because the game didn't fit my playstyle. I'll list out the games I have played and which ones I liked best, and if you have any suggestions or new revelations about the games I have played, feel free to let me know.

WoW -- Enjoyed this for a while with friends and a great guild, but really got burnt out on leveling after my guild crumbled when WoTL and I was left by myself, can't really see myself getting back into it after such a downer.

EvE -- Played this at release, left when RL demanded it. Tried coming back since but I can't get over the hump of being "perpetually bored" or perpetually playing "spinning ships"

SWG -- Loved this game with a passion before the NGE, great combat system, great community. SOE changed the game and now I'll never return.

EQ2 -- Played this, levled up quickly, enjoyed the community....not sure why I quit, but I have fond memories of this game. Not sure if its too outdated now, however. Or if it still has that fun factor.

AoC -- Played this game in Beta and release, first 20 levels were amazing and then everything else was eyecandy.

PotBS -- Great game, cool graphics and fun ship combat. I've heard recently that the servers are all low populations and such. Not sure if its a good idea to return.

DDO -- Free to play, somewhat fun, enjoyed it but can't see it being my main game.

Fallen Earth -- Beta tested, couldn't stand it. To each their own, I assume

LotRO -- Great PvE, but not quite the PvP I'm looking for....

Vanguard -- I've heard this game is on a downhill slide, and I'm not sure whether or not it would be a good idea to join in now. I've also head good things though. This game is really in a grey area.

Warhammer-- Played this with a few RL friends, I quit when they did. I heard it now has a Mac client, which is interesting because I could play it on the go as well. But....once again, can't really see myself getting back into it without my guild and friends.

I know I've played a ton of MMOs, but hopefully this list will help you folk suggest something new, or help me get a new idea down on paper so that I can find a new home. Thank all of you for your help!

wow, seems like you hit what everybody else hit. . . the wall

there are servers out there that offer SWG with the pre NGE gameset. .  . but i believe they are illegal, dunno

Vanguards main fall is lack of population and it being bought by SOE

Go back to EQ2 until something else comes along.  I would be there if they made the AA conversion exp bar 100% for PvP server.

    Goodluck in your search

u might try Ryzom.  but it's mainly Pve and crafting in the early levels and does have PvP but that's kinda end game content.

u may wanna go back to WoW and play on a high population server.  mayby

u might take a look at some of the wow clones out there. new world international and runes of magic i believe

    Goodluck in yo' struggles m8

For PVP.. I suggest EQ2. If your not dead set on having PVP... I didn't see FFXI on your list. Its a much different game than most of the ones you have listed. If you havent tried it I suggest you give it a whirl.

    Vendetta maybe?

    Dawntide?

EQ2 is still going strong, with a very stable population. If you enjoyed it when you last played, maybe you should give it another chance.

If you enjoyed EQ2, then you will probably enjoy Vanguard as well. It is a very good game that happens to suffer from low population due to a poor launch.

Im in the same boat as OP....

Currently in EQ2, about to leave it, as there is no player hubs, small zones, unpopulated.  Feel no connection to the community, as I almost never see anyone...

Hmm you might like Aion, but if you looking for more of a sandbox experience maybe check out mortal online or darkfall?

Also i would agree with the other poster who said you've hit the wall, you've experienced quite a bit of good games and now only the future has any good stuff coming out.

I'd really like to try out Aion or Darkfall--as both of those seem like something I'd be interested in. However, the fact that there isn't a 7-day or 14-day trial really pushes me away. I'd at least like to have a little assurance of what I'm going to be playing before I drop 40-50 USD on a game (that I could potentially play once or twice).

Yeah sadly both games don't have a trial, but mortal online should be having a open beta soon so you can atleast check that out then. One warning before you buy darkfall is that beware this is a pvp games and you will be ganked and grouped on.

I would suggest Darkfall aswell, When you first get yourself a clan you will NEVER feel by yourself.

A  great game for teamworking and PvP, The new expansion will balance out PvE and PvP, and add some new features.

    It's atleast worth a try!

Well, you can try Spellborn. It's f2p now so you'll lose nothing. The game itself is nice and people are nice too. There is just not too much people, but I think the community is growing.

I personally would suggest waiting till the relaunch happens, no point playing if all your stuff is gone.
