You absolutely have no idea what you're talking about. Sony has never been going bankrupt, and Microsoft would certainly never get a FIRST PARTY title like God of War :P That game is literally made by sony just for sony.
sorry to tell you but yes they are getting god of war, metal gear solid, tekken was also part of the agreement. you'll see by the end of next year. sorry to crush you sony fans dreams haha
1. Computers that play games do not need to cost 6k, I tried to find the post but really couldn't find it again. Especially to equal an Xbox360 the graphics card in a 360 is a 500Mhz processor the thing was old when the system first came out. Now your talking about almost a decade old processor. If anyone has a hard time affording a computer to equal a Xbox360 it's because the parts would be hard to find even on ebay. Could easily put together a comp just barely over $300 that surpasses the Xbox360 and plays most PC games. 2. Everyone needs to stop responding to the Xbox360 guys trying to say Sony works for them all of a sudden. First off MS wants Sony games as much as Sony wants Xbox360 games, not at all.
Voloman,
That is an ignorant assumption. You can't do a 1 for 1 comparison between the Xbox 360 and traditional hardware it doesn't work that way. The Processor and video card may be traditional PC componenents but the bus and memory that the 360 uses is not traditional . That is why the 360 is able to do so much with so little. It still costs 4 or 5 hundred dollars to build a PC that can do what the 360 can do.
I dare you to build a 300 dollar computer that can play Gears of War at 16:8. It simply can't be done because the 360 does support features that todays hardware can't do.
im not sure why you hate players of a perticular system, i personaly own all 3 and mainly use 360. I know there is alot of ignorant idiots on XBL, but there is just as many good positive players. You just cant expect a system built on highly competitive games not to have asshats. Hell PS3 ive been in as many games where people crap talk, its just the online ways of ALL systems (includes PC) except Wii becuase theres no headset or anything.
To hate a console because of loyalty to another or having bad experiences doesnt warrent hate, it just makes you more ignorent. Just enjoy the games, play with friends and realize that the negative player dont tend to last more then a month or when they realize how much effort, time and money (noone being stupid wants to pay another monthly fee and put hundreds of hours into a game to piss others off) they wont be around long, so the more good people we can grab from Xbox/PS3/PC the better.
i am posting this to talk about this game comming to 360 are you against it or for it? do you know any inside information about it.
I'm probably going to end up getting it for PC... so the TV can be used for something else and so when the lady watches her 'lady' shows I can just get on the comp so I don't have to listen to it.
But yeah... if the visuals look better and theUI isn't so big like in FFXI and I can adjust it I might get it for one of the consoles aswell, haven't decided yet which console, I'll probably know when we get a bit more info released. .
I will play the PS3 version probably but I would like very much if this game were to be launched also on the 360. Preferably using the same multi-platform servers XI had.
I think the community in this game could only benefit from this, since it would bring alot more ppl to play together.
I hope SE announces a 360 version soon after the launch, and make some sort of agreement with Microsoft about the monthly fees, because paying 5,99 for Live + 12,99 for the game would be to much.

I think it has something to do with the limitations on XBL. Which Microsoft can't upgrade much more because of the limitation of XBL on the original console. Apperently a lot of people still play Halo 2 online (why would you with modern warfare 2 is beyond me). I dare you to build a 300 dollar computer that can play Gears of War at 16:8. It simply can't be done because the 360 does support features that todays hardware can't do.
No offense but I can tell you don't know much about PCs. 16:8 are you seriously bringing up screen ratios? (ROFL) Also the Xbox360 base is DirectX9. You might not be aware but we are approaching DirectX11 and they are all backwards compatable. Gears of Wars is also available for PCs, and runs higher than an Xbox360. Also the BUS for Xbox360 is old, very. The FSB can only handle up to the max of the CPU and the RAM both of these are old. The Xbox360 is a 3 core 3.2, the ram is standard DDR2 (and as far as I know PCs use this same DDR2, so I'm not sure what your talking about). You might not be aware of how computers work clearly, since you think the bus matters more than these base figures. The bus only allows the transmition of data to the maximum of the components. These days we have Quad Cores for PCs at Extreme speeds beyond 3.2, FSB at over 1022mhz. The speed of the Xbox360 ram is 500MHZ, there would be no reason to have a buss this fast on a system that doesn't move that fast. So by pure logic there is no way MS wasted money on a fast FSB and then put in components that can't use it. Also Xbox360 uses a dual FSB computer now have quad FSB systems. Also all FSB systems work similarly in almost any component even your phone, so again I have no idea what your talking about not being able to compare them.
Any technology that a console has is in PCs and beyond there's no secret trick, MS hired ATI/INTEL to work their console specs as you might or might not be aware ATI/INTEL do PC components. Which means there's not some sort of super secret hidden in your console. Seriously I wasn't kidding when I said getting an Xbox360 computer would be hard, because specs like these are old, I mean you'd have to check the garbage dump or ebay.
Another thing if the Xbox360 FSB was so fast it would have higher FLOPS, the PS3 can process double the FLOPS. So I mean you can't even begin to compare it to a PC, when it can't even out process consoles. Oh and the PS3 has GDDR3 which has a higher throughput than the DDR2 that Xbox360 uses, which means the PS3 actually has a higher FSB than a Xbox360.
I understand your blinded by love for your system, but yes they are comparable, a computer is merely a large calculator you can compare things like DirectX9 vs DirectX11, 500Mhz vs 1066Mhz Ram, compare dot draw rate, polygon performance, tons. It still uses computer parts it's not an aircraft and even if it was you can still freaking compare the avionics equipment. You can run Linux OS or Opera or many other OS's on the PS3 in fact, so it's easily comparable to a PC just like Xbox360 is. The PS3 just happens to use advanced IBM hardware that isn't widely available except for high priced science computers. Now if you said it's impossible to compare a PS3 to a PC you might be right since most people don't have this kind of high end tech in their pcs yet, and probably won't for years to come, if ever.
If you need any more technical knowledge or help let me know. I don't mind schooling you. Keep your head on the point though, the point was can you equal a Xbox360 for $300 that link shows you some examples, you can find more on your own by using GOOGLE. You might of heard of it.
Who cares, the more the merrier. And I have a feeling XIV will turn out to be a game where the little kiddies and 'tards will stray away from like they did XI.
This is year 2009 almost 2010. These days lots of kids have PCs and consoles. These days should not make any difference between who plays on consoles or PC, that was a couple of years ago when MMOs were a niche. And...considering the low populations issues from many MMOs, I would not mind to have console players joining PC gamers.
SE has worked on the port but they are experiencing difficulties with MIcrosoft in regards to Xbox Live. Of course FF11 is on the 360 so it is interesting that 14 is experiencing difficulties. MAYbeit is the amount of bandwidth SE is asking for in order to get the FPS they have as a goal. Also I have no idea but I am sure money is involved somewhere in regards to the Live Silver/Gold accounts etc, maybe SE thinks that if they allow Xbox to have the game the LIve subscription fee will hamper the likelihood of Xbots choosing to subscribe t FF14.
Good riddance in my opinion, I find there to be a difference in the playerbase of the two consoles. I liken the Xbots to trigger happy WoW players... so the later they get it the better... if ever.
The difficulties spring from Microsoft's LIVE policies, this has been stated many times in the past by various SE people. My guess is that this means two things;
1. MS wants subscriptions to be handled through LIVE for 360 users, the reasons being "convenience" and the fact that they would recieve a portion of the fees for handling the transactions (this is currently the deal they have for Phantasy Star Universe).
2. MS dosen't really want the game to be playable over Silver. This is a point of contention with FF14 & Champions Online. Hell, CO for 360 is done & has been done, they were ready to release it with the PC version. Why wouldn't they release a game that a ton of 360 owners were looking forward to? Ask Microsoft.
The bottom line is that MS can't seem to figure out what they want to do in regards to MMOs on the 360. I hope they figure it out before FF14 is released (or at least at some point soon after), because more people = bigger community. I know plenty of PS2 FFXI (top tier players, as good as any PC player) who bought 360's because they just prefer playing on a console. There will be idiots in the game whether it comes out on 360 or not.
Relly i kind of hate the idea i mean come on. now microsoft has snatched both tekken and final fantasy from ps3 users. I wouldnt mind if they GAVE SOMETHING BACK! I mean come on is it so hard to maybe port over fable? or gears of war? maybe mass effect 2?
microsoft didn't sntach anything from playstation. sony was goin bankrupt and microsoft bailed them out and gettin 6 of there top selling titles was part of that deal. microsoft is also getting metal gear and god of war along with a couple others.
This is the most retarded XBot post I have EVER seen.
1. MGS being on both systems was a business decision by Konami (3rd party dev). More than one system fanbase equals more profits to be made. It works both ways as well keep in mind. Just look at Eternal Sonata, Star Ocean, and the Ninja Gaiden series.
2. Sony was never on the verge of going bankrupt. Just because the PS3 had a bumpy start doesn't mean the company was going under.
3. God of War is a 1st party game. It will NEVER be released on XBox.
4. M$ would never bail out their competition. If anything they would try to buy the company and own both system rights.
Don't bother replying if you don't have anything constructive to say. Comming on the forums and posting utter nonsence like this only makes you look like a fool.
If you still want to continue with your lame fanboy rumors then tell me, what are your sources? Go on, post a link with official word of this. To say something like this you must have proof so SHOW ME!
...
Thats what I thought...you have no proof what so ever. Why don't you have proof? Because your post was total BS from the start. You fanboys need to stop posting lies just to make your system look better. They are both good systems so just enjoy the one you got and keep your mouth shut unless you have proof to back up your argument.
(Sorry if it seemed like I was raging everyone. Fanboys from both systems just get on my nerves when they go posting false info like this.)
EDIT
Almost forgot about the actual topic. I don't care either way. I'll be playing on the PS3 so it really doesn't affect me. However, more players joining the FFXIV universe can only lead to good things for the game itself.
see thats my point to me on any mmo i play its the more ppl on it the better i donno why serious computer game players frown on console owners so bad. thats what broke ppl own, consoles. i know i for one cant afford to go out and spend 6k on a computer to play games on thats gonna look just as good as my 360. i also dont see the point of us getting a late release for the game since that is gonna deture alot of people from wanting to even get it on 360 when it does come out. that just means we are gonna be way behind everyone else so whats the point. i wanna be able to be one of the top ppl not have to chase everyone elses tails.
Im sure others have said it but you can get, build or have built a vastly superior system (in comparision to any an all consoles) for far less than 6k for that matter under a k easy and arguably for around 500 you can have a solid gaming platform that will perform as well as your console does and with much more potental than any current console can even dream of.
Back to the subject I have nothing against it though I cant see why they would strees over the 360 in particualr; nothing against the console or its playerbase but I cant see the 360 holding out much longer hope MS brings there next gen soon as the 360 (to me any way) is no compatition to the PS3 much less the PC not that one should compare console to PC, apple to orange.
On the point of mixing console gamers with PC gamers im all for it and hope to see more of it dont really care what the gamers playing on.
see why they would strees over the 360 in particualr; nothing against the console or its playerbase but I cant see the 360 holding out much longer hope MS brings there next gen soon as the 360 (to me any way) is no compatition to the PS3 much less the PC not that one should compare console to PC, apple to orange.

What do you base your opinion on?
Back to the topic at hand first then more on my reasons;
I would like to see FF on all the platforms but if there are troubles getting it on xbox I just cant see them pushing at it as I dont think it has enough life in it to warent it but then again im not on the in with MS or Sony so what the hell do I know lol.
Having said that if they are going to go with xbox I would hope that they would try for as near a simo release as possible thogh I dont think this woudl kill it for console gamers if they couldn't it would help the realease its self out in terms of the population all be it a further tax for the first few months (o how I love the tital wave of a new MMO) at any rate the more the better I say.
On to my reasons to the above.
First let me say its been awhile since I reviewed the 360 but last I did my reasons where as follows.
1) limited media options, the 360 does (or did) not read blue-ray this limits its games to DVD which means larger titles will need multi disk it had HD-DVD but thats dead
2) Prossessing power; PS3 was way the hell over built as is the Sony way (unfortunetly) this makes ther hardware costly as hell at first but gives them a lot of room to grow i.e. long shelf life. The 360 has shown us the best it has and it is good dont get me wrong however I do belive it has shown "the best it has" unlike the PS3 which I dont think we have seen the full potental of yet
3) PSN and Live I am aware of both well enogh to know Live just doesn't come close
4) . . . well thouse are enough but we could go into a comparison of the 2 systems CPUs, GPUs and RAM or into comparisons to the 2 compaines reputation in the multimedia market or in general.
Really the only notable feature I have for the 360 that can not be countered by PS3 is the potental for XNA based titles I love indie games and MS has better support for it than Sony by far. As for Sony they have suppiror media, supperior processing potental and arguably supperior graphics potental the 360 can not hope to compeat with the PS3 for much longer not to say MS is out of the game I dont think they ever intended 360 to out live PS3 why would they? Being the first out the gate with the next gen cosole worked well for them with 360 and I personaly hope and expect that they will be the first out the gate with the next one as well (which unlike PS means the death of the previous generation) we will still be playing PS3 a year or so after what ever the hell MS calls the next xbox is out.
I'm very excited for this game and to be honest I have a semi-capable PC, PS3 and 360. I recall that the 360 had problems with logging in guests (they needed their Live account as well) and actually had worse graphics than the PC (everything was very fuzzy) so I can understand skepticim on SE's part about choosing PS3 instead.
Don't get my wrong, I love all of my systems and I'm not a fanboy (though I do prefer Sony) but I think people should calm down a little bit. This game would work on the 360 in theory, though I'm not sure where the compromises would have to be made. The PS3's hardware is hands-down the highest-quality of any gaming console (PC will always be the best, however) and it makes sense that Square Enix would have it be a non-360 game for similar reasons- the hardware on the 360 is a big reason for FFXIII being delayed.
'I'm not stupid, I just have an excess of useless information.'
I'll be honest and say I didn't read all the posts here, but I scrolled through and read what I could.
In terms of FFXIV being released for the 360, I say that it's a lovely idea. I am a proud PC, PS3 and Wii owner but why discriminate against others who really would enjoy an MMO such as FFXIV? I know there are console exclusives, but I don't think an open online universe that has aspirations of overthrowing World of Warcraft should be ONLY for a set group of people. FFXI benefited from the 360 version's release, and I think that SE sees this and will hop on board with Microsoft as soon as they can. There's too much animosity going around for a game that hasn't even come out yet. Let's enjoy the game, not bash each other for what console we own.

As far as a $300 computer, http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/f75/300-dollar-build-201101/ would easily run Gears of War. Oh btw this should be able to play crysis. You can actually run Crysis on max for $500 though.
The difficulties spring from Microsoft's LIVE policies, this has been stated many times in the past by various SE people. My guess is that this means two things;
There will be idiots in the game whether it comes out on 360 or not.
microsoft didn't sntach anything from playstation. sony was goin bankrupt and microsoft bailed them out and gettin 6 of there top selling titles was part of that deal. microsoft is also getting metal gear and god of war along with a couple others.
What do you base your opinion on?

Who cares? 360 or not I'll play it.
What do you base your opinion on?
Back to the topic at hand first then more on my reasons;
I wouldn't doubt it. FFXIII did it, this one very well could be as well.
I agree with those that say the more the merrier. I hope they have something in mind for voice communication through all platforms.
