I understand the world is huge, 10 kingdoms with lots of land to be taken over in each, but my main questions is reguarding who controls what? What I mean is this:
If you're of the Dark Allignment for example and you and your guild wants to control a certain area, but another Dark Alliignment guild has already taken it, how do you go about fighting for it? I mean does every guild in the Dark side equally share dark side controlled lands? How does each individual guild stake thier claim? The answers to these questions may severly influence me and my guilds decesion to come and play DnL. I really need to know if anyone can answer this for me. Please and Thank you. Oh and I read something about if the same side wants to wage war, they both have to agree to the war? How does that work? I mean I want to goto war, but they don't so the war doesn't happen? That's kinda care bear, let me know if this is true.

I believe that at the beginning fortresses will be NPC owned, then guilds and player can aquire them later. I think you can take them over through hostile means or if you have a high enough social level you can be appointed the leader. If you want to take over enemy fortresses I think you must siege the fortress. Once a certain alignment owns enough fortresses in that area it switches to that alginment.
Thanks for your reply, but I'm still a little unclear. I understand that if your on the Dark side and you take a fortress it's becomes Dark, or if you taken a fortress from the light side it becomes dark. What I don't really understand is how the guild thing works within Dark and Light sides. Say for example my guild is set up and we're all of the Dark allignment. Now we run over here and tak over this fortress. Now my question is, does my guild own this Fortress or does the entire Dark side own it? Now, if my guild does own it, here is another question. Say a different guild from the dark side owns something i want for my guild, how do I go about taking it from them?
My best guess from what I have read so far is that all dark owned property is equalled sharred, or at lest it seems that way. I'm just really curious how individual guilds will come into play. It seems as if there is no need for guilds if everything Dark or Light is sharred, land wise at least. I dunno, anyone who can break this down in some better detail for me would be great.
I know of two ways specifically mentioned by the devs, and possibly a third way that has been rumored around.
1) You can declare "war" on another guild of the same alignment, but both guilds have to be in agreement.
2) You can have a Light aligned guild come take out your Darkie neighbors in question and then have them hand it over to you. This may require a high level of trust as the Lights may betray you, or you them.
3) (unsure) You can cause political unrest in your opponents kingdom, causing the local inhabitants to uprise and thereby possibly forcing them to surrender their fortress, at which time you can move in.
Hope that helps. I'm a bit rusty on my knowledge in this regard, I'll have to go through the available materials and see if I can't find out for certain on these matters.
im pretty sure that if a Dark guild declares war on another Dark guild they both have to accept the fight, then they is no pentalyies or interferince from gods (in some war zones if i remember right )

Ok so what if they don't accept the fight? Nothing happens? I can see it now, one guild is all big an powerful, the other isn't and they never get to fight because the lesser guild surly doesn't want to lose. I don't know if I like that aspect at all.
So another question I can't seem to get an answer to is what role will guilds play in DnL? How will individual guilds within each the Dark and Light side stake thier individual claims? Is each Fortress that is taken over shared by all from that side? Or does the Guild alone who took it over own it and is responsible for it's care and benfits from all it offers?
Clans do not own land. Only player characters with enought nobility skills can own a fortress and then develop, tax, set MoB spawns, etc. in the surrounding land. Assuming your clan has some nobles then your clan can go settle a new territory and build new fortresses on it, or conquer some Light owned fortresses, or maybe, if the fortresses are Dark owned, declare the territory to be a war zone by paying some amount of money in which case everyone in the war zone is subject to PvP (the devs mentioned this recently in a dev chat but they did not describe the conditions for making the war zone declaration beyond spending money. So we don't know for sure if war zones are for everyone or just for the opposite alignment but it does not make sense to have it for the opposite alignment since they are PvP anyway).
