Looking for a new mmo.
Hi to all you folks behind the screens.
I'm looking for a new mmo to play and what I'm looking for is:
Crafting! Crafting is an important feature in mmo's from my point of view. A nice and wide crafting system is, what I would want to see.
Player housing/Player created shops. I've always wanted to see an mmo with player created shops. Player housing is also a wanted feature in my book.
Nice and relaxed PVE.. I don't like all the grinding or the endless raids for purples.
A friendly community!
P2P because of quality.
Fantasy is mostly wanted, but I won't say no to a sci-fi mmo without looking at it first.
Good looking character customization!
A big and open world ready to be explored!
Games played:
WoW - Got boring after a few years.
AoC - The world is too instanced and I feel I need to play with a friend else it's quite boring.
Lotro - It's quite good all-round, but I get the same feeling about this as I get with AoC, I need to play with a friend.

It looks like you have to try out Darkfall!
90% of in game items are crafted by players.
There is housing in darkfall (clans can even own entire city's!)
It's P2P and the world is huge! I can run around for hours just exploring and having fun!
Get into a clan and you will get A LOT of help, and you will never feel alone when your clan mates are online! : )
I cant describe how epic this game is, just try it!
I've been taking a look at Darkfall. Is Darkfall not more of a PvP game?
It's only pvp actually there's almost nothing to pve on.
It is definitely a pvp game. If you die it's full loot. So you can craft to your hearts content in cities protected by guard towers. There is danger of losing your goods if your not careful. It is crafting with an edge.
If you can't handle that I don't recommend it. I personally love the game to death and it is getting better and better.

Apart of killing some mobs for maybe some money best gear comes from crafting, quests are only to get money to buy gear.
I'm not the huge PvP'er, but it sounds quite fun so I'll give it a try. Is there a trial available somewhere?
I hear that Fallen Earth is the new crafter's game out there now. Can make up to 80% of the items in the the game and some items can only be crafted by players. Give that a try should be right up you alley.
Nope no trial either buy it or wait MAYBE there will be one in the future.
No there isn't a trial. The expansion is planned for tomorrow (thursday) and their could be a 24 hour downtime. It is an exciting time for Darkfall that is to be sure.

I'm not going to tell you to try EVE, otherwise a half a dozen folks will chime in with what a boring spreadsheet, screensaver, POS game it is.
You certainly wouldn't enjoy the complicated crafting system that directly supports the economy and the overall games PVP model.
Forget about the many PVE options, they all suck and lack any sort of challenge and who really wants a career trading, mining, exploring, running missions, ratting Sleeper ships in wormholes, rolling npc pirates in 0.0 complexes or even scamming the unaware from their hard earned ISK.
Can't help you with player housing, all EVE has is the ability for players to set up their own personal station that can be used to refine ore, build ships up to Capital size, be armed with all sorts of swell defences like ECM jammers, shiled hardners and guns. But no sofas, pictures or sconses I'm afraid. And for the really ambitious, you can actually organize the effort to create a full size space station in 0.0 space that can never be destroyed, only captured and controlled by whomever has won the space at that time. But no carpets, sorry.
We don't have characters to customize, unless of course you consider being to outfit your avatar in about 200 different ships types customization. And for some reason, CCP seems to think we need actual player Avatars that can walk around in stations and wear clothes, play cards or interact in corporate offiecs, so they are working on bringing it into the game to satisfy some group of whiners who seem to think its necessary. (no date has been set)
Large open worlds.... again, no one ever sets foot on a world in EVE, but there are several hundred star systems, several hunderd wormhole systems which no player could ever visit them all. Of course, there will be a companion FPS game for consoles called Dust514 that will interface in some manner with EVE and actually have players fighting on worlds in the EVE universe which will be contracted by players of the parent game.
Yeah, pretty much EVE is a garbage game and coudn't possibly be what you are looking for, do not play it for any reaason.
edit: And of course, I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in the 14 or 21 day free trials that can be run as many times as you like until you get a feel for the game.

A trial would be nice but hard to implement with FFA full loot pvp. I could farm with numerous trial accounts and kill them and take the mats.
There are hundreds of different types of mobs and they are placed in the world in realistic places. If you see some ruins, well your likely to find some sort of zombie or skeleton.

Well ideas come out of nowere sometimes they can maybe figure something to do about that but anyways this is getting offtopic
OP I think Ryzom would be good for you but I don't think it has player housing and maybe the graphics would not be amazing but not crap too.

Why ?
1.Crafting is good and challenging.
2.IMOP it has the best Char customazison ever, plus it has the most goodlooking char of all ive played.
3. Grafics are good, and will be eaven better.
4.Negative maby is the griding, but that doesnt realy bather me.
Well its a new game, and all games never realy are as inteded at the bigining,

When NCSoft's "Vision" of Aion is forfilled, you know with the player housing, seasonal changes and so on, I might start playing Aion.
