If I like SWG will I like EQ2?

I really love the fundamental economy, player housing, player cities and lots of role playing and character features. Everything from lots of cloth, furniture to biography and stuff like that.

I just wondered if EQ2 really had some neat community aspects?:) How is the overall community?

I was very dissapointed in WoW. People just wanting to do solo quests and the hole game seemed very linear so im looking for a more laid back, open ended and fun and interacting(with the community) experience and not allot of mean battle.net racistis:(

not to wash wow besides that. Great game! Just hated that darn community!

No matter what game you play I believe, you get what you put into it.

I have played bad games that I have made the best of, as well as, games that were great overall, but lacked in something.

Everquest II is an overall great game. For the most part, it is very non-linear. You kind of make your own way and do what you want to do.

Personally, I think the crafting system is by far the best I have ever used and I love to craft in any game I play.

The economy is very player oriented, so each server has its own economy. Which brings up the community. Being an avid roleplayer, community plays a major role in sticking with a game for the "long-haul." This like the economy, is very server specific, so research servers before making characters. Personally I play on Everfrost, which I have found to be very awarding. Of course with any game there are immature jerks and children that scream out phrases such as "noob", "sklew u", etc. and you learn to just ignore them, I am lucky and have only come across 3 on the entire server which consequently 2 of them were banned due to seperate reasons.

My personal opinion about the community is it is very well developed, experienced players gladly helping the newer generations learn, true roleplayers, and you will almost always find a helping hand.

Just remember don't expect more than you are willing to put into it.

Welcome to our World. Good Luck! image

This is a tough question. I like SWG, and I love EQ2, but they are totally different games. SWG has A LOT more RP potential than EQ2. SWG was/is more about the community making thier own content, EQ2 has more content than you can shake a stick at, but it is more structured than SWG.

In EQ2 you can't really make up your own story as all the stories are already there, you just sort of role-play through it...If that makes any sense. It's sort of like in SWG you all you have is the binding of the book, you write the story and act out in it, in EQ2 the story is already written the only thing is how the characters react going though it.
