Can't say worst of all time as i have not played every game out there. But from what i have played the freebies have a long list with tibia leading the way.
For pay to play hmm i would have to go with shadowbane.
I'm guessing that's Wyvern. In all reality, I'd take Wyvern over Furcadia any day.

Worst one of current time for me is Horizons. No player economy, complete grind, lags like a mofo, can edit terrain files in notepad to allow you to run underwater and move through mountains (been that way since release). CSR don't seem to give a monkeys and the bad politics of David Bowman creating a shell company to prevent debt just stinks. So many bugs and inconsistency its untrue. If Horizons 2 is released I won't buy and I know plenty of others who won't either.

Never knew that things could be edited to walk over water and through mountains. Another reason why I'm glad that I got out of this lamest of all lame games. As to Horizons 2, I doubt it'll even be considered since from what I heard last the game's slowly dwindling away.
Funny thing is about a couple months after I cancelled my account they started to send me a few emails asking me to renew my subscription. I resisted the urge to reply with flames and sarcastic taunting. Anyone else ever get emails like this?
That's a tough one. I mean, how do you call that? Worst game proportionate to the amount of effort put into the development? In that case, I'd have to say L2. Not that I've played it for more than 15 minutes, mind you. But I have some very close friends who "play" it, if you can call watching a bot program run 5 accounts for you "playing". Seriously, once he discovered botting, despite the fact that his account would be banned in a heartbeat if the GM's ever caught him, that's just about all he does. That and crafting items to sell. He even has a second computer than runs nothing but bots, all day long, while he pks people, or sieges castles, or whatever on his main computer. Or plays Counterstrike, which I think happens more often.
I mean, looking at the ads for L2, I've gotta say, it's a beautiful game. Absolutely stunning. The art is fantastic, the style is rich and vivid, everything about the environment is well crafted...
And then you see the dark elves running like Napolean Dynamite. 'Nuff said.
I won't even get into the grind, I think the rant about botting covers that pretty well.
But worst game overall? I might say Knight Online. Ugly, unoriginal garbage, ripped straight out of Diabo's tortured, over-played bowels and regurgitated onto my screen. Talk about grind! They don't even pretend it's anything but! The best part was a bug in beta, where if you were a tank, you could take almost any monster just by sprinting in circles around it while attacking.
Or Star Wars Galaxies. Hey, welcome to the game that made me hate everything Star Wars. You know what the final straw was? Having a "Jump" emote. BUT NO FRIGGIN JUMPING!@!@!$#!@!~!`1`1`1``111111111111oneoneopneoneone
----------------------------- Listen Asmodeeus, seven years ago, Ultima Online didn't even have those pathetic "quests" that you refer to or those "professions" of ninja, samurai, necromancer, and paladin. Nor did it have any of the neon crap, or bug mounts. It didn't even have any "combat moves." You turned on attack and jousted with simplistic swings. It was a better game then. if you can't guess why then just uninstall the thing and move along. - Crabby
He even has a second computer than runs nothing but bots, all day long
If you had a free-form combat system in a game, then botting would be done away with (hunting-wise) or else the bot programs would have to be a heck of a lot more sophisticated (not that I know how to program them). It would rule out the "select & click" way of fighting anyway.

prolly jumpgate episode 2: the attack of te corn puffs..
let me explain, our old squad(Talon's Fist or somethin like that) got tottaly screwed out of a fully stocked unregulated station. before ep2, we spend at least 2 and a half months making money and then stocking this unregulated station called "Evenings End" in a preperation for episode 2. and then when the full episode 2 patch came in, we all logged in to find out the station has been tottaly empty. not one commodite, nor an equipment was stocked at evenings end. talk about hundreds of millions of credits and effort wasted here. the worst part about this is we were all homed to the station so every time we died which I was included as well, we were stuck at the station as well. so i had to run to outpost station to get proper ship equipment. but wait, outpost station had no equipment for each ship as well. but i think the gms placing the emergancy equipment for ship fixed the problem.
now for the so called player owned station.. tottaly killed the balance here. player owned stations are supposed to be obtained by players who are in a squad. the amount of player owned stations(10 for 8 point, 5 for a 4 point, and so on) that can be obtained is divided by how many players you have in a squad. example: 24 / 10 = 2.4. take out the decimal and you get 2. so the squad can own up to 2 player owned stations with an 8 point module. BUUUUUUUUT.. they didn't go that way. any indivisual player who happen to have hundreds of millions or billions of credits, bought a player owned stations, hoarded the equipment that is needed for the ships, and either placed it in their own private pos, or charged it 3 times more for the regular cost for the ship equipment. and that is where i got extremely fed up to a point where i left the game for goods.
there were also lack of promises that netdevil had.. and those two were a squad warfare feature, and advanced fighters.
there were also excessive flamewars on the general chat message boards and in-game that got out of hand which netdevil and themis group did absolutly nothing about it back then. and noooow the general chat section got gutted and everyone was forced to post on the fan site.
what happend next?? netdevil now goes under ncsoft(one of the worst customer service i ever experienced)'s wing to work on autoassault. that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.
This is one hard call. Now, alot of MMOG's have come out recently, went into development, dropped outa the race(Horizons was canceled right?) and well, no matter how many "Good" MMO's come out, along come the flys, as I say in a analogical statement, in come the few dragon flies, and trailing come the flies and vermen.
Okay, maybe that's a little harsh but seriously, so many MMO wanna-be's develop and show up each day. Now, there are 3 I'd have to jump between. Furcadia, RuneScape, and Lineage 2.
Lineage 2, although the boring IMO was really boring and laggy on my comp(I'm sure that's a fun factor killer.), the graphics were nice. I found it wierd though, because I play the females(what man wants to stare at a man all day, and I do play men for the cool "I'd like to look like that" feature but moving on...) you can see up her skirt. I was like, JEEZ get some pants! What's this game rated anyway?!?
Now, Furcadia was...bullsh!t in my opinion. What was the point of this game anyway? I kinda got lost and ditched it.
Runescape. I played this game for a week or so, I was ready to shoot myself. The graphics are horrible, the fuctionality reminds me of playing with dolls or something, and the players are soooo unfriendly, atleast the server I got stuck on. It just wasn't worth it free or not.
Well, there's quite a bit more out there, my friend showed me one but I don't remember names soooo...those three stay on the list. I'd have to say in a fair ruling, Runescape was the worst.
Well that's my opinion, don't hate or love me for it , and don't be offended cause then your goin too far. Thanks for hearin me out
This is where I put some wierd trademark for myself, well my trademark is a picture of me owning you.

I've seen that coming, and I think it was meant as a joke. Haha, if you find the actual comic you can click it to see the forum, they'll tell ya if he was jokin or not. I somehow doubt it's true existence tho.

Lineage 2 beta tested it for a short while. Nice eye candy but yawn fest. It prob gets better past 20 which i got to 21 but it was like running up hill.
Closely followed by AC2. Original AC was excellent how they messed this up i dunno but just my 2ps worth.

I trained and trained to get to a high level then they had their BetaPhase II thing and I didn't have time to go on for a week. You HAD to confirm your account in a 5 day period or they deleted it!!!!!!!!!! MY LEVEL 37 MAGE!!!!!!!! GONE!!!!!!!! I deleted the stupid game and tried to ruin the poll on their site by voting the most negative choice a million times. Was pretty fun and felt like sweet sweet revenge for what they did to me!
EDIT: WOO HOO! I've become an apprentice member!!! YAAAY for me!!!!!
