Its funny because no one will ever be happy.

I went around reading the forums and just realized how stupid some people are. It seems like no matter what NC Soft does, some people will never be happy.

Before the ban hammer = "OMG SO MANY BOTTERS, THIS GAME SUXORZ, how can this game be out for almost 2 months and they still havne't banned any bots." or "I have the best solution to this, give me GM and i will do it right now.."

After the ban hammer = "NC Soft does not know what they are doing, there is no way they can ban this many accounts in such short time without investigations" or "Their ban system sucks, they ban innocent players without investigating."

Ok people, stfu. NC Soft GM's and Devs have posted in the past stating they needed time to investigate before they can ban, because it is a difficult process. But all you flamers did were complain and complain. And saying how they can be done quick. Now that they have banned all these botters and losers you guys think they did it in a rush...

I think you have missed the point. Most of the people complaining about Aion aren't actually playing Aion so their opinion is based on a combination of what they believe and what they want to believe. This thread will do nothing to change their minds as they really don't have any interest in being anything other than negative. This will be just another flame war with people on both sides spouting off nonsense.

You must be new to NcSoft games... They use the bannings are a PR tool when they need to appease the crowds. People are frustrated because NcSoft has still not got the fact their games are always plagued by botters and RMT spam, more so than any other game company.  They ignore the fact that it is an active job fighting RMT and it takes a ton of work.

Consider this, why don't Asian servers have the same problems?

They do have the same problem, and they complain about it as much as we do.

Not especially new to NCSoft but if this is simply a PR stunt then it has been quite effective at least on the servers. Today when I logged on I didn't see a single gold seller spam in any chat channel nor did I see any gold sellers running personal stores. I did see one or two bots but in places where there had been a number of bots before those areas were pretty much clear of them.

People said NCSoft wouldn't do anything about the bots. But they have cleared them out. Some people though not necessarily you are saying it will just a one time thing and these people might be right but so far they have been wrong so I'm going to continue to give NCSoft the benefit of a doubt. I'm sure some bots and gold sellers will creep back into the game and if NCSoft chooses to ignore them they are likely to become a flood again. I expect that having done it once and having created a game survellience unit that they will continue to monitor the game and get rid of them.

Who knows maybe NCSoft will become a shining light of the industry. Odder things have happened.

My point is simple, it really does not matter what NC Soft does. It will never be good enough to some of the population.

And I base this belief on the fact that before the ban people were unhappy and after the ban people are still unhappy. They have this negative vibe about the company hence doesn't matter what they do, it will always be bad.

Its almost like a witch hunt.

The problem isn't really NC Soft. True its their game and they have their responsibility to take care of it, but it is unfair to blame them because people are trying to make money off their game, they didn't ask them to sell gold.

I feel bad for them too because I am sure they would use the extra human resources in developing the game instead of maintaining the game by banning bots. Because we all know the players are going to be demanding new contents, and if it doesn't come as expected then NCSoft is again, the worst company ever.

Remember guys, we are living in a time of global economic crisis. The fact that you have the means to read what I am posting is a blessing. Stop the fighting and arguing, play the game and relax. If you really don't like it, just leave. No one is stopping you.

it seems to me the ppl who are making these complaints tend to be ppl who might have botted and are whining about it i dont know for sure but from what i have read across the board most of em are i didnt do it and yadda yadda yadaa but i think its very true about the pr they have done a similar thing when i was playing guild wars so its not all shocking and having played aion i can almost see why ppl would be turning to buying kinah not agreeing with it but seeing how tough it was to acquire kinah myself ...

I hate to release this type of information because it tends to piss people off all the more....every so often NcSoft changes its protocol number. This means the user needs to change the protocol which if you have an outfit that is more time. This is partially why you see a massive return in bots a day or two later in areas they couldn't have leveld to yet with a new account.

Well this is true with just about everything in life.

Given the history of NC Soft games they should have expected this and should have tried to do something to minimize it when they launched Aion in NA. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Maybe someday these devs and publishers will learn this lesson. Now it just looks like the only reason they are addressing this issue is due to falling subs.

People just used the botting as an excuse because they really didn't like Aion. Honestly I played the game till 40 and quit, botting never affected me other than being jealous that people were leveling at the same rate as I was but weren't actually bored to death in doing so.

Saying there are bots in everygame sure i guess. Definitely not the same magnitude as it was in Aion. Ask yourself why that is? My personal opinion was its a grinder game that is extremely boring to level in.

While i am not a particular fan of Aion, i do applaud NCSofts actions, RMT's are a problem in lots of games (no matter where they are based) and any action that aims to tackle this problem can only help the players, the legitimate ones anyway. Its also entirely possible that their actions will revive the game - any MMO only really survives if it constantly evolves, WOW and Eve are both examples of games that have evolved over time, and both are successful, admittedly, Eve is not on the same scale as WOW, but its not so easy a game and fantasy does seem to be the dominant factor in the MMO domain.  Aion has enough of a 'unique' flavour, that it could be successful, providing NCSoft keeps working on the 'continuing' botter issues, and also of course, just as importantly, keeps adding more content, i think a lot of WOW's success is due to the fact that (besides ridiculously easy gameplay) it has more quests /content etc than you can shake a wobbly stick at.

It is simple. Aion has success in the eastern world while it has very mild success in the western world so it isn't suprising to see people from the NA/EU regions not to like it or even cancel their subs.
