Good MMO that is LIGHTLY or NOT AFFECTED HEAVILY by Item Mall

Thread title says it all, sick of playing games that are run by Item call users. I know the game depends on their money but it is to my dislike when they are the ones that control the game economy and PvP.

Thanks.

But why wouldn't the people who pay for the game get all the advantages?  That's the "F2P" model, which is why many people prefer to stay with the P2P's.

On that note, lots of games are good out there, you'd have to give people an idea of what you enjoy. (though my first thought would be to give Aion a go)

All the mechanics of your typical F2P w/o the nasty item shop.

I'm looking to getting out of F2P games but w/ the economy...can't find a job right now...I'm 17, those jobs i could get 2 years ago are now impossible to find since even adults are scrambling for any type of job.

F2P games, like anything else in life, play right into the "You Get What You Pay For" way of life.

And besides, if you're 17, and worried about finding a job, you should be more concerned with going to college.  College degrees are the new high school diplomas, lots of places won't hire unless you got one.

Ultimately, I would recommend DDO.  Everything in the cash shop, you can get by grinding.  Its one hell of a grind, but it can be done.

I haven't played DDO, but I've heard its good so theres that.

I'm currently in the Allods beta and the game has the polish of a P2P game but is F2P, and so far it seems that anything that you can buy in the item mall can be earned in-game as well. Runes of Magic would be another MMO I'd recommend, though I haven't played it since they released the Elf patch (not because I hated the game, i just needed space on my computer, planning on starting to play it again though).

True, but college doesn't pay for it self anymore. Jobs are almost necessary now a day to be able to pay and stay in college, one of the reasons i'm looking for a job is to start saving early. I've looked over the DDO website, but never really went in-depth about the game, i'll take a look. THanks for the tip.

There's a few games I know of that aren't affected much or not at all by the cash shop. First of them is Maple Story. I'm sure you've heard of it. The cash shop only has cosmetic items. The second game I recomend is Mabinogi. The cash shop in that game isn't too important. You'll gain AP a bit faster if you do pay, and you won't have a mount or pet if you don't. I don't pay for Mabinogi, but it's still very fun and I'm not behind any of my friends that do pay.

    Thanks.

Florensia, DDO, Dragonica, and Combat Arms are some that come to mind.

Dekaron (EU version of 2moons) has an item mall that is not overpowering at all. Not sure how it is in 2moons but with acclaim publishing that i wouldnt get my hopes up

I agree with this.  Very sound F2P model currently that includes graphics, mechanics, RP (if you are into it), lore and boredom breakers.
