LF MMO with housing and PvE

I'm looking for a new MMO as i'm tired of the ones i have played, i've played SWG since...well pretty much since launch, i've also given LotR a good try as well but its too quest based and story driven. I really like vanguard but SoE just want to leave this potential gold mine to rot while they concentrate on their own product EQ2 which i'm going to give a try with the free trial. WoW is a big no no and i've just recently tried Aion, which isn't a bad game but lacks the depth i like in a game although the future of aion video on youtube does look very interesting, but the crafting side of it is too easy and a little boring. I guess i'm looking for a game very similar to Vanguard as like i say it has everything i want but it doesn't have the population and has a lack of updates.

I like a game to have housing and an rp community as well, I also like games where you don't have to follow the main quest line and can wander off doing other things in between. I'm not a big fan of PvP although i do dabble in it from time to time otherwise i would have to try darkfall as that sounds interesting but its just PvP pretty much all the way.

Any advice on games would be much appreciated.

    Darkfall Online.  Although it is mainly a PvP game, the devs are actively working to improve the PvE aspect.  And there is player housing.  Check it out:

    I found EQ2 housing to be a lot of fun. My main was a carpenter and I enjoyed making items to furnish my house. LOTRO also has housing but ive yet to buy one.

    FFXI sounds like your cup of tea BUT its quite an undertaking to start that game right now and chances are youll never see anything, and if you like it you might just quit when ffxiv comes out as it is shaping up to be way better.

    Like somebody else said Darkfall is shaping up to have good PVE. Its got awesome uninstanced player housing.

    EQ2 is a solid game but becoming dated and is very top heavy.

    Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.
