Broken PVE and unbalance

Don't buy this game until they fix this shit. Imagine this. There is a long ladder to reach some mobs that you want to kill. On the bottom are some retardedly insane mobs that shoot 1 spell per 1.5 sec with inhuman precision. Each hit takes a chunk off of your HP. It takes about 15 seconds to get to the end of the ladder while the mobs are rapid shooting spells at you. AV doesn't deserve shit. Can't PVE = can't get what I need for everything else in the game. Plus those rapid shooting insane mobs have so much higher HP than before the patch. Even if you kill them, you spend more than the loot you get. Even if you make a profit it would be a waste of time and resources.

Players play darkfall for the pve aspect. As long that we can be competitive for from the 1st to a month or 2, its alright. I talk about players who play 3 to 5 houts a day.

Join a clan then group up?

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

I remember when Aventurine spoke about making PVE much more difficult then PVP. Maybe it is done now : )

Monsters HP have been decreased. Their resistance were increased though. Best exemple: Goblin Scout can be killed in 2 hits with Archery rank 50.

Goblin scouts die quicker for sure. Shamans on the other hand... good lord!

Wow people think I'm talking about goblins... I'm talking about lower end medium mobs that kill anyone in 10+ seconds. Then if you kill them - YOU SPEND MORE THAN YOU GET FROM THE LOOT. Do you guys understand?

But a lot of people are complaining about the difficulty of Goblins, at least in other threads, which I'd assume is why they're using them as examples.

If you want profitable PvE - forget about old strategies. You've got few options:

    1) Kill skeleton warriors (or goblins) naked with conscript weapons - you can only earn something.

    2) Kill trolls with melee. They've always been profitable. Each drop 10g + 6 sulfur and they die in 2 hits (assuming R40 2hander and melee mastery 40), or 5 hits, if you use R0 with low skills. There are troll spawns everywhere in Agon.

    3) Spend 3 hours at new "insanely difficult" mob spawn. Learn their new strategies and new weaknesses. If their weakness is not something that you're good at (slashing / bludgeoning / archery / fire / water / unholy / holy / arcane etc) - find new spawn. Even if you don't have elemental magic - you can use transmuted weapons to test weakness to particular element. Soon you'll find new PvE faster and more profitable. You can make more gold per hour than before patch.

I'm not saying that new PvE is not difficult. Mobs fight better than some players. But it's so much more fun than taking 500 arrows and walking back and forth at the edge of aggro range.

Some spawns are not meant to be soloed - take some friends with you.

I'm farming new nuke spamming mobs - using greatswords. It works exactly the same as PvP against bad player with macroed magic schools.

If you had asked me this morning you might have received a different answer, but as far as I'm concerned the PVE is not broken.

I woke up early this morning anxious to try out my new favorite spawn, and I was basically jumped and molested by the formerly manageable NPCs. I barely made it out alive and for some reason went back to town and logged. I actually wimped out. They surprised the hell out of me and to be honest kind of freaked me out. Lol?

A couple hours ago I started thinking about it and began to really laugh at myself. I remember the first time I encountered 3 goblins in Darkfall and actually died. I thought geez I've never died to the first mob I encountered before in a mmo...cool. It didn't take too long to figure them out though. The challenge of NPCs in Darkfall really kept me captivated in the beginning.

So I said screw it. I logged back in and made my way back to the insano mob. I tried some new tactics, and I actually killed one of them. After 10 more minutes I nailed down 7 more. It is NOT easy, I'm not saying that. But I'm having more fun, and for some reason my loot has increased noticeably. Maybe some of the mob loots were overlooked? Also I cannot comment on the magic bit as I use very little of it.

At first I hated it, but now I love it. For whatever it's worth.

I agree things are not as gloomy as they initially appeared. You have to keep at it with the new AI. That's apparent when you start getting your first kills. I think the patch needs some patching but I do not share the tone of most of the posters today. I keep hearing that song from the 70's by Chic called Le freak, as I'm going throught the threads.

    Awwwwwwwwwwwww...Freak out!
