    they should seriously start UO over again..i'd settle with anything before AoS, and I'd be back in a heartbeat.

    You know, it's great to hear someone say that.  I quit playing when AoS came out, and I just picked up SE.  I have to say, I really miss the days of 6mil log cabins in tram, and frenzies being the most exotic mount.  Some of the things are nice, I'll admit, but the game I'm playing now is NOT Ultima Online.  With the weapon stats and all the changes, it's more like Diablo 3 with houses (everywhere).  I missed it, so I came back, but it won't take much (auto assault) to pull me away.

    i miss the old uo... i want my treasure chest login screen... it was awful when i needed AoS for some player run servers that didn't even use AoS... and having that laggy EA games intro... and i run a monster machine and the intro lags up lol.... i want UO pretrammel!

    what they need to do is just make a server that has all the old settings and rules, i would sign back up this second

    go into teh music folder...

    rename ealogo, intro, and osilogo all to .bak

    open uo, goes right to login screen, no more intro movies...

    UO is the best MMORPG I have ever played, sadly AOS made it go so bad that I can't play it anymore.
    They don't make games like this anymore :(

    Its one of EAs bad habits :)

    Nearly every games company brings the good ole nerf stick in :)  UO was nerfed when trammel was brought in, the land of goody two shoes, AOS was a final nail in the coffin, looking at sales charts UO aint doing to hot at the moment and the samurai expansion pack hasnt exactly gripped people enough to buy it.

    Really the only new people they draw to the game are people who have friends that already play.  There just isnt anything for anyone to do anymore with such great games like eq2 and wow out there.  And when stuff goes wrong instead of trying to fix it them just get rid of Origin and blame them for all the mistakes hehe

    EA has had its day as far as online gaming is concerned and listening to nostagic music is about all UO fans have left.  A once loved game, gone but not forgotten eh :)

    Listen Asmodeeus, seven years ago, Ultima Online didn't even have those pathetic "quests" that you refer to or those "professions" of ninja, samurai, necromancer, and paladin. Nor did it have any of the neon crap, or bug mounts. It didn't even have any "combat moves." You turned on attack and jousted with simplistic swings. It was a better game then. if you can't guess why then just uninstall the thing and move along. - Crabby

    I miss UO, Hell! I even miss beeing PKed and looted of all my belongings...man that was exiting! :)

    I miss classic UO badly as well.  I'm following www.trialsofascension.com because it seems to be a game where the devs are trying to take the freedom and simplicity of the classic and bring it into an updated format.  Alas, it may be some time before it gets to beta.  It is not a game for the squeemish, but it certainly is for the old school adventurous!  They have a character chat coming up (spin on the dev chats) in stratics.

    Permadeath and environmental challenges are the next great step in the evolution of MMORPGs. Only through true adversity will one feel accomplished. Only in truly knowing you can die will true adversity present itself.

    6 years here from final Beta. I often lament that no other MMO has come close. I have played everything thats been released since UO and I still kept going back. Easily the best MMO of all time and will still take some beating.

    O and Sygmas.... it wont be MxO
