Some things never change ... sigh
Just re-subbed to try out the game after reading positive things about it ... and guess what , the game is still infested with New player killers camping the starter areas .... sad .. very sad sigh 
I'm guessing there is nothing can be done about these asshats ruining what should be a great game .

What starting area are you in? I have seen two different ones and have never been pked yet. There are alot of people around but unless you provoke someone (shoot them, ect.) then there is generally no reasion for them to attack you. I have yet to be pked in the game out of the entire 24 hours of /played time I have played. Everyone I have met has been nice and even offered to help and give me items. *shrug* Maybe try a different starting area / race.
While there are definitely more people out and about since the patch, I have yet to be PKed. I'm in the Mahirim starting area though.

I think an Eve like system would be better, but either way somebody isn't going to like it.

I thought that laser towers protected the starter areas.
Up to a certain distance. If you venture even a little ways too far, you can get ambushed. And since most newbs like myself are pretty weak, a well-equipped PKer can take them down before they reach the safety zone.
It's not impossible to avoid getting killed beyond the towers. I was attacked by two PKers a while back, but zig-zagged all the way back to the tower safety zone. They got pissed about it, but I had a good laugh. They were spamming arrows and magic. If they would've tried melee or even worse, mounted melee, then I would've been a goner.

Not gonna lie, they exist, and will always exist to some extent in games like this. Some douchebag has been camping the bank in one of the starter towns on and off with his fully geared and nigh invulnerable to our little noob selves character the past few days and apparently ,that's all he seems to do in the game. But it's not so earth shatteringly bad that you should shun the game over it. If there were armies of people surrounding the towns and keeping noobs from doing anything, then I might say it was a considerable problem, but the usual idiot who gets his jollys by being a jackass is an annoyance and not much more. I might just be lucky though, I hear it's worse depending on what race you pick, just because certain races seem to attract a more of that "special kind of idiot" than others.
Besides, there's not much forcing you to stay in the noob towns anyway. The quests are nice to start out, but if the problem is bad enough, you can always find greener pastures.
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

Join the New Clan.
New own a city (on both servers) and you can stay in the guild for 30 days. They will help supply you with the most basic gear and will offer you all the help you need.
Yes you will still get PKed but most alliances have a no hostility pact with New.
New will make your first few weeks a much better experience.
Yeah there are a lot of scumbags who PK newbs. Especially at Mahirim. As there would be a skill to raise up "gank a noob" ....
Yeah NEW is nice and ok, but PKs go still inside the town and as the towers suck. They still can gank easy POST PATCH. Yesterday night one guy ganked us from "LOL BREAST CANCER" clan imao. He could take easy about 25 hits of the tower and had still 40% of life. The towers are such joke imao. Dont forget i speak about post Patch towers. At least you get warned if a noob Pk enters the town. You got time to bank all stuff.

Who cares sbout PK'ers who camp you. The game is poorly produced trash in almost every way possible.
Why would you even think of paying for something like this?
Spare me the 3rd grade, non-substantiated rant. I'm in my first week and though I've been PK'd several times now, it has has it's place in the game. It teaches you to play this game differently than the others, using stealth and a much higher level of awareness. There are good tips in earlier posts too. I've also heard that the graphics aren't that great which to me seems a bit naive as well. They are better than Wow, Warhammer...very close to LOTRO, and compared to MMOs with supreme graphics, the performance, lack of lag and just smooth operation make it one of the best games I've ever played. The things people say are wrong with this game make it realistic and unique, they've done a lot right (for example....being able to skill up any weapon type from day one, being able to harvest anything day one, being able to craft without all the silly mechanisms and prereqs) I think they put emphasis on the right stuff in this game for sure. That being said, it's not for everyone, especially the closed minded, and the goody - always safe players. This game will bring out the dark side in you, or you'll move on.

New player myself and havn't had those issues at all on EU-1. I'm in NEW on there also. Playing as Mirdain I believe it is.
Well guys after about 10 -12 hours continuous play , I have managed to gather a bit of Gold and and some good starting armour, I have gone with a Human Char ( tried them all ) I am playing in a place called Heart of somthing ? . Tbh I have still been Pk'd 3 or 4 times and it did piss me off again, but I am now starting to get a feel for the game so am becoming a little more confident and am using differing tactics to stay alive !.
I have honestly come back to Darkfall after a poor experience at launch, because I can see how great this game can be, I am sorry about creating a thread to rant about PK'ers but it really was pissing me off .
To be fair there have been alot of positive comments that have encouraged me to keep at it so thx !
All I need now is to get into a Clan and perhaps get some revenge !

Welcome to DarkFall. I don't know where amongst the positive posts you read "there are no more PKers in starter town" but that was a lie. And if you stopped playing DarkFall because of PKers.....well the game's just not for you.
To the original poster, save yourself the problems of logging into Darkfall. It seems your looking for a hybrid pvevp game that you can play relatively undisturbed, where the players dont have the role of being a mobs, and without players influencing your game-play unexpectedly. Perhaps WAR or AoC?

Yeah ive read aswell a lot of QQ about towers, but i dont see about which towers they are talking about -.- If a guy can walk and take easy going about 25 hits by towers they ARENT overpowered... at least he wasted 5 min chasing us (naked) around a tower

Ah yes ....him....he declared War on NEW so he can enter human starter town to kill NEW players without getting attacked by Guard Tower. Bin Laden from VietCong also did the same thing (declaring war) for the exact same reasons but applied to Mirdain starter cities.
I pity them more than I pity the new players. Being forced to attack new players in order to make gold...how pitiful.

I don't think he made much profit. One of my guys is playing a human and saw Darth Vadar get bum rushed in the center of town. My guy made off with his set of banded armor.

Oh this is ADORABLE. I just went through my mailbox, and what do you know. I have about 15 messages from GMny, arguing with me that Darkfall is vaporware. I posted press release information about the publishing deal between Aventurine and Audio Visual. He pointed out the release said "publish Online Games by Aventurine, doesn't say anything about Darkfall! Darkfall is just a scam." Pages upon pages of messages from this guy, bashing Darkfall in every way you can imagine, sitting in my inbox.
I decide to check out if he even posts anymore. Yup, he does. What do you know, look what he's doing here, 10 month after he lost the ability to call Darkfall vaporware, still bashing Darkfall.
These are the type of people Darkfall has had to deal with for almost 4 years now. THIS is why the community is so quick to snap. Please ban this guy.
