Patch to fix expansion issues

Tasos:

"Today scheduled maintenance will be postponed until later (to around 4PM GMT) so that we can also issue a small patch.

We've been following player feedback from the expansion, we've also been playing the game ourselves and we're working on understanding all the issues and addressing them. We can tell you right now that we're already working on fixing things and re-balancing others and we should be patching almost every day this week until everything is addressed.

This was a huge expansion with major changes to the game and there were bound to be issues. We're grateful for the feedback and all your efforts, we want to assure you that we'll keep monitoring the situation closely.

We'd like to also inform you that there have been issues with Canadian ISP SHAW making it impossible for their customers to access our servers. These issues are being resolved as we speak in cooperation with our iSP GNi.

We'll come back to you with more information on everything we'll be doing in the following days."

Darkfall is $OE free zone so i was kinda expecting hotfixes and reaction to playerbase concerns.

So this weekend Aventurine patch the new expansion for DFO, move office all in the middle of riots in Athens and still manage to get a patch out the next day to fix issues.

These guys are hardcore without a doubt!

I've been watching this game since release and have to say that my optimism for it has increased over time. I've been juggling the idea of giving it an honest shot and the new changes and efforts to fix the game may put me over the edge.

Thanks for posting. Time to go dig up as much info on DF as I can!

As a new player this patch really is making me rethink my sub.  I was happily making slow progress rasing PvP skills on PVE Mobs. Training, learning and experimenting.  Other than goblins, maybe kobolds that has been taken away.  Gobos now hit from multiple angles at unexplainable distances.  It makes no real sense, these Mobs have no value other than to train new players and I am not going to spend months attacking the same Mob.

On a side note, all this crap could hav been hashed out on a test server with real players, every serious MMO has one, high time DF gets one.

They're actually going to be releasing small patches continually throughout the week. I'm pretty happy about this.

Two days into the game myself, and while I died maybe 2-3 times before I actually managed my first goblin kill (the starter weaopn sucks ass) I've actually really enjoyed the PVE.  Granted, I spent the first few hours regretting having bought the game, but as I got some things figured out, it suddenly got fun.  Now I'm downright addicted.

That said, I love going into a goblin camp (that noone's killing in) and starting at a corner, picking off goblins from behind cover with my bow/staff, then moving in and making it my farm.  I'm even downing the "new and improved" shamans which at first were completely and utterly impossible, but now are exciting to see for their loot.  Clearly I can't speak for the rest of the game, but I'm loving having to actually fight the AI in this game, rather than just tab+1,2,3, loot and repeat.  Point is, I'm not even 48 hours into the game, and I already see my progress, and I seriously doubt I'll be killing goblins for "months".

Anyway, other than what seems like a bit of an extended maintenance (they said two hours; it's been over 3), I'm kinda with the other posters about their response to player reactions.  Fast response to mistakes and problems looks good to me.
