I hate elite gamers and there a lot in WoW and on my server.
Just to let you all know that when asked for achievements before being invited to a PUG then you can use this curse add on that fakes achievements so that it can appear like you have actually done what you have not ;-)

Fantasic. I never ask for acheievements when Im filling a few spots in my raid with PUGS I do ask about gear though and have carried many through Naxx and such.
The acheivement system was a great addition sadly a percentage of players use it as a filter.. too many times I see "need 1DPS for Ulduar 10 - link achieve or dont bother to whisper". Idiots the lot of em.

Or they won't let you in because you still have one blue or my favorite you can't go to naxx you are only wearing conquest and heroic gear. At the time unbuffed my def was 549 and my hp was 33k
I play on one of the biggest elitist servers in europe I think. We also have Method on our server , and there is alot of competition. On sylvanas its all about achievments and gear. Funny thing is I have a paladin on another server that was about lvl 60 for about a year or so, so decided to lvl him up, hit lvl 80 a few months ago, and at lvl 80 its like a totally different atmosphere. There is virtually no asking for achievments or checking gear, it is a more relaxed approach, but more recently even on this server achievment asking is starting to appear.
Hey im not saying its a bad thing asking for achievments as there are alot of noobs, but overall I think the linking of certain chievments has really gotten out of control. Imo Blizzard really need to disable the linking or even checking achievements while in game imo.

some player are surprised when they read this .you ll see how it is with the new lfg system but since player pool is higher
pug will be pug a lot more then now ,now regular joe going for h togc 25 just cant go in they just cant
My my server(Lothar) there is a good bit of gearscore and achievement checks for PUG raids on the Alliance side.
On the Horde side there is none.
Also, gearscore, achievement checks, talent builds are all meaningless. Ive seen people with good gear, cookie cutter talent build and the achievement do horrible. Ive seen people with bad gear, non standard talent build and no achievement do great.
But most often Ive seen people that are forming the raid and demanding gearscore and achievement checks have bad gear themselves. Not to mention "LF6M DPS, full on plate DPS" and the person forming the raid is the only plate DPS.
Im glad I have a good guild so I dont have to put with this raid PUG nonsense.
Let's be fair here. Heroic ToC 25 is not pushover content. You need a high level of coordination and DPS and asking for the non-heroic achievement is just good sense.
Now if you are asking for the achievement for the raid you are doing then you really trying for a farm group and should advertise it as such.
Luckily on my server people still seem sensible and only ask for gearscore and achievements for the really tough content. People asking for high gearscore and/or achievements for regular content are eitehr laughed off or sit in LFG for hours.

Fair assessment.
There are pugs that ask for gearcheck in middle dalaran for naxx. There are pugs that simply said, "going FL25, anybody comes". There are pugs in between. That is the same as in real life, nice people and the less nice (to me). What do I do? I play with those I like. Let those who like each other and team up for their own instance.
Good thing in WoW, once I zone in, those who upset you in dalaran no longer show up anywhere.
If someone have a hard time finding 4 more, 9 more or 24 more. Well, that is another problem, more likely a bad timing, off peak hours, or a bad reputation/personality or some other reasons.
Anyone can spam here all day long telling horror stories of some elitist spamming "link or ignore". I can talk all day long about the horrors of school kids shooting their own classmates. Suddenly schools in USA becomes a deathbed for terrorist attacks.
No, lets all put it in the right perspective. Their are rude people in WoW, as in life. With 5m or more playing there has to be a larger number of rude people, even if the same percentage.
