The hotly anticipated version 3.3 of World of Warcraft is now live! 3.3 is a major update to WoW and includes three new five man dungeons (The Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection) within the Icecrown Citadel, a cross realm dungeon finder, updates to the introductory experience for new players, and finally, quest tracking!

The usual class balances and tweaks are part of this patch as well, though Warriors may be feeling a bit left out, not much for you this patch! Sorry guys!

Mike B do you know what you have done? There is a certain unwritten rule on here, that no wow news is good news. Watch this turn into pure flaming.

There are many good features like mailing BOA items account-wide(and ignoring factions as well) and the new Icecrown instances/raid but the most important feature is the battleground-wide dungeons.
Oh and warriors should be happy for not getting a nerf(especially PvP wise)!

Meh. I can't get enthused about this patch. I'm sure there are a lot of players who will like it but it isn't enough to get me back into the game. And I'm seriously not trying to start a flame fest, but I would like to make the point that Cataclysm is still a very long way away and Blizzard should have some more and bigger bones to throw to its player base to keep them interested until it comes out. And so far all I'm seeing are a few more carrots on that stick.

That new dungeon matchmaking system is actually making me consider reactivating... I'm actually impressed.
I actually decided to quit with wow for a while..
But I guess I will login this week and try the new stuff out, my sub ends in 2 weeks I guess, maby blizz can make me stay again ^^

Looks like fun. This wraps up Wrath, and sets the stage for the transition to Cataclysm. Once the servers come back up, things are going to be hectic.

I am excited about the new dungeon matchmaking system.
I was gonna try to wait to roll another character till Cataclysm, but the chance of level appropriate groups for the early Dungeons sounds like to much fun to pass up.

Agreed 100%. I quit for a while, but this made me reinstall and reactivate my sub for another month. We'll see how it goes, maybe a fresh character on the other (horde) side of the fence will help me enjoy the game again.

i'm awefully tempted but i just can't. I wanted to raid back in pre-bc in the classic dungeons but no raiding is just...meh...dungeons and the people who raid are just far too different to the old stuff.
Still good work Blizz on that cross realm stuff...wish some other games would do that.

To clarify: these are NOT randomly generated dungeons. They are standard instances and the random part is which one you get to do with that group.
they may be rolling the servers back to 3.2.2 or whatever the last version was, the servers were up for like 15 minutes then they all crashed, massive lag spikes, it appears the new cross realm LFG feature is sucking up all bandwidth and processing power of the server clusters, even the wow forums are down. last i saw they may redo 3.3 as 3.3.1 minus the LFG feature
This is probably the best patch I have experienced in WoW.
The new LFG is just tops, you flag for a group and you are put in one within 2 minutes. It's especially nice when you just want to farm heroics and use the 'random dungeon' which makes wait times ever less.
I haven't tried this on my alt that I am leveling every now and then so im not sure how long waits may be, but I will definitely try it out on low levels later ^^
Ouch. Sorry to hear that, as the LFG revamp was a big part of the patch. Hope they get it fixed.
