Can someone please make me a sig. I would like it to have something to do with an eagle(the bird) Somewhere near the eagle can you put the words "Global Defense Initiative". Could you also have the line "If you can't buff up, don't step up!". Thanks!

A cancellation?
Thats about it
Ill be one of the first to admit I liekd Wish tohugh, I really hope Dark and Light pulls through.
You need to ask
What did DnL have that Wish didnt, because of cancellation.
Better? Who knows? Has anyone actually beta-tested DnL yet? Can they chat about it?
All of the features in the world don't matter for shit if they are only on the website.
And actually, one thing I really miss about Wish: pathfinding. I'm playing SoR, and it irritates me when my character runs into an obstacle that's between me and my prey, and just jogs in place against it.
And personally, I loved PnC. Annoying in the small buildings, yes. However, it really simplified the game, and freed up a hand for running the keyboard, instead of navigating. Wasd-style is great for counter-strike, but I don't need that kind of precision for an MMo. I guess I'm just a little more open-minded than the majority.

Listen Asmodeeus, seven years ago, Ultima Online didn't even have those pathetic "quests" that you refer to or those "professions" of ninja, samurai, necromancer, and paladin. Nor did it have any of the neon crap, or bug mounts. It didn't even have any "combat moves." You turned on attack and jousted with simplistic swings. It was a better game then. if you can't guess why then just uninstall the thing and move along. - Crabby
DnL have a very strict NDA over it so eveen if someone playing/played beta i doubt they could actually say anything about it tbh...
And damn them for not letting me in there...

I never break NDAs and will not do it this time either. But my reply to the question would be:
Beats me
"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly.
It should be thrown with great force"
Amen man. I have been saying this for a while now. No one but they few who test it know jack about the gameplay for this game. At this point it may be as bad as Wish for all we know. Go to the DnL site you have a bunch of blind people following like cattle and no one is pushing for more info and now no open beta? I hope this game is great but I am sorry this has the making to be a disaster.
And what does Wish had that DnL didn't? It had an open beta and let people realize it was not a great game (for most) without pissing away $ unlike what DnL is going to do.
Ahh Z if that's the case I have to eat my words, I can respect that kinda move. I still think it's a blind cattle move that everyone is following but if they give a offer a free trial well then at least people can judge. Thanks for the info.
When I actually managed to get into Wish beta (not very often), I personally found the movement poor and all the menus over complicated. I found the pathfinding a pain in the arse (as it is in UO when I forget to turn it off).
In this day and age I don't understand why we can't define our movement keys. Practically every ZX Spectrum game had the option to define keys (QAOPM ) and that was 20 years ago.
Personally, I liked the races offered in Wish. The cyclops and imp were really interesting to me. I also liked what I read about their crafting system.
But, having said that, I don't think they were necessarily better than Dark and Light...just different. The only thing I can honestly say I thought was "better" was something we can in fact determine without having played the game - the quality of writing on the website, in the histories, backstory, and other articles and faqs. I find a lot of typos in the DnL stuff, and it doesn't have the same level of "spark" that the Wish writing did. (Perhaps I am being overly critical, but since we don't have a lot of concrete info on DnL to go on right now, I am focusing on what I can see.) But that says nothing about the games themselves, and I know DnL is in the middle of revamping their site, so that may change.
The difference with UO is that the pathfinding in UO blew. Wish's pathfinding was perfect. Or, if not perfect (still sucked inside small buildings) it was still extremely good. Personally, I don't understand how/why people had such difficulty with the GUI. I agree that the design of it wasn't as aesthetically pleasing as it could have been, but the functionality was fine. Note that I didn't do any crafting, I've heard that Wish's crafting menus were over-complicated and frustrating.
I suppose the main difference between Wish and DnL at this point, is that Wish was very open with information about their game. They had two open and two closed betas, and were planning another of each. They had tons of lore, screenshots, FAQs and were interactive and open to suggestions in the forums (except on the PnC topic, which was a technical issue, and to my mind, completely understandable. People who aren't network techs or programmers shouldn't give their esteemed opinions on what "should be really easy to put in, omg this game will suck with PnC and because of PnC and my stubborn refusal to adapt to a new interface that isn't counterstrike, I'm going to bash this game forever" ). DnL doesn't seem like they have a similiar attitude towards their fans, as far as giving out information, at all. That's my impressions, from the few times I've visited their site.
