None out there at the moment. Really. Darkfall is as close as it comes, but that is hardcore PvP.

There is no other sandbox on the market apart from EVE, sorry.

It's not fantasy but have a look at 'Fallen Earth'.

It's one of the last released sandboxgames out there.

    Looks a bit like half-life 2.

Wurmonline.   Micro-Indy.   Crafting survival based,  the PvP side will only have a raid or two a week if you're lucky.    Very little to no "gank PvP".

Haven and Hearth.    College-Project-Indy.   2D has PvP though people rarely use it because the community activly punishes it.   Has by far one of the best crafting trees I've seen.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

actually Ryzom is the closest to what this guys looking for. Darkfall is more of a fps with rpg elements.

Ryzom is the only real sandbox on the market.

Ryzom is not much different from let's say Vanguard, just offer some interesting customizeability but that's all.

    Far from sandbox.

    Sandbox definition is not linear.

If you want a good fantasy game with strong PVE, my advice goes to Lotro. You have instances but the world isn't instanced.

With Mirkwood expansion this game is one of the best out there.

And don't trust the trial, because this game starts to get interesting after level 35.

    Pretty much.

    To the OP:

Fallen Earth - Half Sandbox Working Towards Full Sandbox and nothing to do in the meantime.

Darkfall - Half Sandbox Working Towards Full Sandbox with lots of PVP fun to have in the meantime.

EVE - Full Sandbox. Slow play and real time skill training.

Mortal Online - Alpha testing they are calling "Beta". Betas are fully operational clients/games that are just filled with bugs. Maybe a couple features short. Alpha is the base of a client/game that doesn't really work and has hardly any features. Did I mention that you have to pay to be an Alpha tester? Yup, you gotta pre-order. The word today, kids, is SCAM. Say it with me now. SCAAAAMMM. That's right you did it!

Well, that's about it. You can go super-indy and play some junk or you can play some outdated nerfed crap fests that used to be sanbox kings. I love games and don't mind indy, but super indy doesn't belong in this Genre.

    Honestly?

EQ1 / Ryzom / Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Excellent PvE fantasy sandboxy games (EQ1 may fit more into the realm of "Super-Hyper-Mega-Themepark, but after 15 or so expansions it has so much content and so many things to do that it may as well be called a sandbox)

LotRO was mentioned, and has various sandboxy elements, but is still very linear in its gameplay.

I would suggest trying Ultima.  It has pretty much everything you asked about except the 3d part isnt all that "3d.'  But it does do quite well with the 2d environment and I have always had a really good time in that game.  Just a thought.

     Ryzom is a decent one

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

Keep your eye on Mortal Online.

It's playing well, and looking good.

I'd definately check out something Like Dawntide too.

I've tried Wurm Online, but it didn't quite catch me.

since MO is fully open pvp, I would bet money the focus will be pvp (or there will be enough asshat gankers it will feel like a pvp only mmo)

Every asshole in the world will want to join and grief, it is just the way it is.  Maybe after a few months the newness will calm down and things will be a bit easier for non-pvp freaks, but at first it will be pretty horrid for a person who is not looking for hardcore pvp.

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

Okay, here's what they seemed to miss:

    *Dawntide

    *Haven and Hearth

*Craft of Gods (looking to be sorta Ryzom-esque with a little more freedom)

*LOVE (essentially a sandbox MMOFPS...just...a severely different take on it in every sense)

LOL, how on earth do you find all these games, John? We can always count on you to find the ones we've never heard of...
