Amazing vid! I've been on the fence about getting DFO because of all the arguments going both ways. But I do believe that after reading StrixMaxima's thread and then seeing that video, I will give DFO a shot (in a few days of course when I'll actually have time to play it. ^.^)

Started playing 2 days ago my self after being on the fence since launch and all I can say is I'm hooked lol. I really think a lot of MMO players will never know just what a gem DF is because they will never even try the game, sad really. This video is a great example of what DF is all about.

Picked it up myself a few days back after reading several threads about the game here and other places, and I'm really glad I did as I've finally got something a bit different from what I've played over the last few years.
It's actually nice to get that "shitting a brick" feeling when making a run back to town loaded with loot. Just getting the hang of things before I join a clan, but I'm sure the game will be even better once I find a good clan to play with.

On side note. You can't have awesome graphics and large battles with 100's of people in mmorpg with FPS settings. Current technology just don't allow that.

well, I know these are the darkfall forums, and i also know it all comes down to gameplay preferences i guess. battles with huge armies just arent my thing. wasnt trying to troll, people said it was amazing, i thought otherwise, just giving my opinion. just take it as that

I agree the video is nothing special too but for those that play darkfall it may be great dunno but to me class less games tend to make everyone play the same.
The video shows that apart of the visuals all people are spamming spells and such.
BUT the first part of the video was good the different type of boats with people on them is nice and would like to see it in other games but apart of that nothing out of the ordinary sorry.
I think if you've played DF that video is more amazing looking than if you haven't.
The reason is you understand what it takes to execute the attacks. In other games you get a lot of flash just by pushing one button and attacking a tab-targetted mob, or a series that unleashes an animation without any player control.

I've been on the fence about getting this game as well... with full loot how important is your Armor and weapons... Are they easily replaced for an average player, also what is the main way to optain weapon and armor, player made or looted from mobs?
Since this is an open world with no instances are there World Bosses then? If so how many people does it take to kill a World Boss and what is the reward for killing these bosses if they drop armor does this quote "Craft any item in the world and put your name on it." on the official website hold true?

If you think that all we do in Darkfall is spamming spells or whatever else...you would get your ass handed over faster then 20 seconds.
Armor and weapons are very important. Of course in the absence of player skill, they are less important, but I think you are asking it in the context of having it, since losing it will happen often. Note: Gaining it will happen often as well in fights you win.
In my opinion, finding and joining a good guild takes care of the vast majority of concerns people have around the open PvP and full loot nature of the game. Crafted armor and weapons are superior to what mobs drop, and while one is free to enjoy crafting, most established guilds have hghly ranked crafters that are more than happy to assist. Most guilds also have tons of extra armor and weapons sitting in its vault to help guildies, and show players the ropes on what mobs to fight for what drops they may desire. In addition, while I solo myself often due to time constraints, groups are the most fun, and increase your survival rate in PvE and PvP.
There are Boss Mobs. They drop critical components for high end crafting and large amounts of gold and such. Killing boss's is not required though, as not one mob in the game is limited to just one drop, or source of an item.
Crafted items carry the name of the maker, and many folks use the trade channel to become very successful merhants.
