ram is most important thing, if u want to save some system reqs, try turning off the partical effects....most likely thats your lag problem, i know its the only thing that really lags my system down

im not sure if its accually considered lag, but my instead of me seeing my character move his leg whuile he is running, i see it then it freezes for a sec and its in a totally diff place.

And also if i bought a graphics card would it simply improve only the graphics?

And would i be worth it to buy another 512 of ram, and a 200$ graphics card????

sounds like stuttering, what card do you have. also, it could be video lag which would mean you may need a video card upgrade, and the gig of ram wouldnt hurt either.

Well upgrading a system helps in future too.

But its like this. You need more then 512RAM and a 9600  or better if you plan to enjoy the game. Some zones like nek castle are simply littered with detail it eats up the RAM fast.

If you have a fairly ok g card then spend the money on RAM.If not then a g card first.

In your case get a vid card, because you have an intergrated video card, you may not have a agp slot. Check and see if you do, if not you need to find an old school pci card, not the new pci versions.

Another 512megs ram couldn't hurt either, but for you right now, get a new Video cardimage

wow that sounds a lot like integrated gfx card. how your even playing games on that is beyond me, but if you dont have a agp slot, dont even bother the old pci cards are worthless and you will be disappointed, it would be easier just to buy a new computer.

no its brand new i just 4got to upgrade the card but i got one and it helped a ton, just didnt get the right kind of ram, so need to take that back and get 2 512 ddr2 ram.  What will i notice different with this extra 500 mb of ram?

Yep seen it happen many times people buy the top line processors(seen a guy with a fx55) jam some RAM and rely on a intergraded or sub par Graphics card.

As a gamer its a no no.You can escape play the best new game out there with a 3 year old processor but never with a graphics card.

Even after 3 years a athlon 1600+ is powerful enough to run all games i know of but a 3 year old card has fallen well behind.

Here is the problem an intergraded card is weak so weak its below par then a cheap bottom of line seperate graphics card. And oh it also eats RAM as it has none of its own.So if you see a say 128mb RAM intergraded card its actually eating from your main RAM.And in your case you are using the bare minimum RAM-512mb that EQ2 needs as it is.

It is better to get a mid range processor and a top line G card then a top range processor and mid range G card.

Anyhow you gonna need a seperate graphics card. The one commonly mentioned is the R9600 as it offers great budget price and plays well.If you can afford better then do it.

Avoid cards like the FX5200 like the plague though. And yes 1gb will also help but you do need a new card.
