X3: Terran Conflict or Reunion?

So i've decided i want to try this game out, but am stuck trying to figure out which version I should get.
X3 Reunion to my knowledge so far, is a bit harder/complicated compared to TC, but apparently TC has more content or something?
I haven't tried either game obiously, and was just wondering which version should I start off with?
Does either game have things that aren't in the other or anything?
Which is generally more fun to play?

Ive not had near as much time in Terran conflict as I have had in Reunion, but there are a lot more ship types and configuration options in Terran Conflict. lots of UI changes as well. Probably most notable I liked was not having to land at stations to pick up missions. Right now X3 reunion I have seen selling for 9-19 dollars, so maybe buy it (its at version 2 the most current I am aware of) and then grab terran conflict later if you like.
Personally I love both games.
Playing: Not much actively.
Games played: to many to list, been playing MMO's since 2001

Well I went ahead and got the gold edition just so i get both storylines
Any tips/sites that might be helpful in getting started? I'm still not entirely sure what my plan is once im ingame, but i figured trading would be a good start just to get some starting cash.
