Seems that MO is having a Christmas sale getting ready for the launch of the game. Game normally sells for around $55 USD but now its only $50. Buy before that crazy tax kills the deal again!

Sorry for my noobinosity, but I haven't had time to comb through this forum for the details, but could someone clarify if preordering will actually get me into the beta? The website was a little cryptic and seemed to indicate limited spots etc.
Pay the money and they let you into beta. The full amount, not like the betas you can get into at Gamestop for a $5 preorder.

Seriously though, someone could go get the battle chest from blizzard for 40$ right now. So they're charging 10$ more than the behemoth and it's first expansion. I doubt alot of people who have never played wow are goign to honestly get this game. Also 50$ for a game that other's have said is not even 50% complete. It's not going to happen. Enjoy wasting your money if you're foolish enough to pay for this.
I think theonly reason why they're even getting sales right now is b/c of the full nudity. Alot of horny nerd boys wnat to stare at naked females running around...

People are paying because they beleive the company will make something great, one day, with this game. Sure it will not be "complete" now but at some point in the future, it *could* become a great sandbox game which is something we haven't had in a very, very long time.
They are putting the boxed versions on sale that havent sold yet and lowering the price of the digital download. They are so expensive because they had a bunch of metal embossed boxes made up and the price includes shipping.
Also new press release came out today, they are adding 1 more month to beta.

This game is heaping pile of crap. I have never felt like I have wasted money on a game until I bought this one. It is terrible, on so many levels. The "beta" is more akin to a very early alpha. Very very very bad in its current state.
Darkfall, sad to say, is FAR superior to this game. If you refuse to play Darkfall, then play any of the other MMOs out there, they are all exponentially better than this turd.

Im not a hater of the game... but I gotta say taking 5 bucks off and calling it a sale on a beta product... seems a bit humorous to me.
As a gamer though I do hope they get the funding they need to make a great game. I want to see more out of the box thinking than what we have gotten over the past few years.

If there is any game that I'm a "fanboy" of, it would be FFXI near and around the US release. FFXI was my first fantasy based MMO. And it will always be my favorite, because it was my first.
Now Darkfall is an ok game. I can't get into it because it requires a great investment of time, and you simply cannot survive in the game world alone. If you're alone, you're screwed. You can barely gather or harvest unless you're close to a city, or have friends gathering with you. Darkfall, on the up side, provides at least a small tutorial when you first login. MO has no such convenience.
Mortal Online simply drops you into a completely foreign world. If you choose a male character, you can see his dong. You're completely naked when you start the game. No starter weapons or armor. Nothing. There is also no indications as to how to obtain any weapons or armor. I started a character and tried to run into a city. But whenever I got close to the city entrance, NPCs suddenly started attacking me, and killed me very quickly (considering I was naked with no weapons or armor) and the reason why I was killed was never made apparent. Was I in enemy territory? If so, why would I start at an enemy city? Or is the AI so terrible that the NPCs of your own faction will kill you?
No tutorial. All of your beginning spells require components. Which you have no clue how to obtain.
If the game had a good tutorial, and I wasn't forced to stare at my avatars butt crack, then I might have gotten further than 30 minutes of game time. I looked up the guides provided on the MO website, and these were vague and confusing, even more so than the game itself. And weren't really guides, just Word documents that someone jotted down quick.
The graphics are not impressive at all. Nowhere near what you see in the teasers and trailers. If you want a game where you are born as a naked avatar with absolutely no clue as to how to progress in the game, then MO is for you. Otherwise, if you want a polished experience, ANY other game will have this, even F2P. It's a shame I spent 80 dollars on this POS. But that's my own fault for not knowing what I was getting into.
If you really feel compelled to try this game, then buy it and try it. There's nothing stopping you. But as soon as you realize you wasted your money, you can't say someone didn't warn you (because no one warned me). Wait for a free trial, seriously. I really can't stress this enough. WAIT FOR A FREE TRIAL.

How were you staring at your avatar's butt crack?
The game has promise, and i've enjoyed the time i've spent with guildmates.
I recommend this game to people who are patient and looking to try something different.
All sounds well and good for an alpha build of the game, but what the heck are they doing try to sell it to people for?
