Originally posted by Ponzini Alright guys come on I played for a month solid with no issues and just because they have had problems recently all the sudden everyone has to complain. Not only did they give 2 days of free playing time but they are working hard to fix it I can guarentee it. First off its not like they enjoy torturing everyone with these issues there is alot of stuff they cannot discuss and we dont know about. I say give it a week and everything will be back to normal with absolutly no problems. Some of you guys act like they are picking on you and trying to make your lives worse. I suggest u go out for a bit and breathe the air leave ur character in an inn to get rested exp. If they keep having issues Blizzard will give us more free time because they are good to their customers. This game has still had a better release than most MMOs I played. There are close to no bugs in game. I think they have dont an amazing job so far and the new battlegrounds they are coming out with are even better then I thought they would be. Im sticking by WoW and give it my full support. If u wanna go back to another game go ahead less lag for us.
You are the type of customer that company suits love. I am glad people who don't find this service up to par, complain. Just because you love what they are saying, ie what's up in the future, makes up for all these major problems is good then you are a hopeless battlenet fanboi.
So big props to all the whiners
If you think WoW has had the best release of all game, then you need to get your head out of your ass. I dare say it's the worse release of all MMO and pretty disappointing for a company like Blizzard that has a great rep in the gaming industry.

Wow just 3 million?! Also heard that Blizzard Devs can shoot lightning bolts from thier arses.

It's one thing to whine about dumb stuff like a paladin is too strong in pvp, but its another thing when you can't EVEN play the game. If you think that is fine then you are complete moron.
The company has been fair plain and simple they gave free time for the issues they had. Which is even better for me because so far I have had no issues playing. Somehow im the only one not having any problems on one of the most populated servers.
600000 people buy the game and are loving it and you tell me its a bad release? Getting booted every once and awhile on SOME rare occasions does not make the game unplayable. I am able to play fine 100% of the time 24/7

You admit the server boots you, yet you say you play fine 24/7. I think I finally understand why we differ in opinions so much: You have a very warpped sense of what it means to "play fine"
I came to this game with a huge group of friends. Also, there were around half the servers that they have now at release, and I can't just "pick a low population server". On release day my server was "low/medium".
For those that say you aren't having issues...you have dodged your share of bullets. It is the morning of the 31st. Take a look at all of the BLIZZARD posted outages.
That list just goes back through Saturday, so that's over 48 hours. My server went down twice in all of that. And after today you will probably only see "recent" outages according to when you click on the link. When that time comes, there were 18 threads posted about servers coming down or back up.
Okay, some of you just aren't reading what is being said because the same arguments are being made over and over, and well in some cases, you are just making up numbers. First, nobody has sold 3,000,000 copies. Blizzard made 600,000+ copies for their first run.
You say that there is lag because of the population and you point to a high subscription rate and give them a pass. This is amazingly simple. A good company tests their product. They know when their servers are going to buckle. They avoid that number at all costs and create enough servers to hold the number of copies they product. For example, Blizzard at launch had around 44-45 servers. They made 600,000 copies. That means on average, 13,000+ people should sign up for each server. Given different play times, etc obviously all 13,000 won't be on each server at once. They upped it to 88 (basically doubling it) and the hope was to knock that number in half.
They still aren't done. They need to double the number of servers again and then allow a transfer for 2-3 days. As I have already told you in this thread, they are going to double the servers and they are going to put in a one-time transfer. This alone, when it is announced, is proof that they have messed up this game and have been a part of one of the worst launches in MMORPG history.
Again, this isn't a one strike and you are out business. They will ultimately get things right, but that doesn't change the fact that for the past two months this game has been unreliable at best, and just plain not working at other times.

When I cant play WoW with my main on one server, I play it on another. I know its not hte best way to solve the problem, but dont say you cant play it, say you WONT play it. I know it would be perfect if all servers had a ping of 30, your game would run with 80 FPS with thousand people on screen at the same time, and you never got disconnected, and you wouldnt have to work to earn money to pay for the game ... but life is not as perfect, servers lag, they go down, you lag in game and die, you have to work your ass off and boss hates you at work and then he fires you becuase all you can think is how you cant play becuase servers are down. Im not trying to attack you or insult you, but your comments are a bit ..angry. My point is, life is not perfect, this game is new and aint perfect either. If you cant play on your server and you dont want to move to a new one, then tough luck. I personaly have a main on Magtheridon, a level 44 gnome rogue. When yesterday my server went down, it was annoying, but that didnt stop me enjoying the game, I switched to my noob horde hunter and continued exploring/playing/hunting/enjoying the game. Peace

Soooooooooooooooooo many game journalistic entities have lost massive credibility in the amount and extent of puff pieces they did for Blizzards PR department and then driving the final nail in the coffin by giving it perfect reviews. If you guys are going to tote it like its Jesus' 2nd coming, and especialyl use reviews and #'s to gauge its success don't give this type of underdog like status to it when its faltering.

Ill pretend to be you and say this... Go back your crappy Matrix Online forum. That game is so crap and you hate it so much that you cant play it and just wonder around forums bashing all other games around. I dont know how Matrix Online is in beta, I never played it, but I dont need to play it to see a crappy game. its so bugged i wouldnt be able to play 10 mins without crashing to desktop and freezing my puter. And community? Wow, where did God go wrong with people like you? I hope you never have kids so that your DNA will never evolve into something intelligent, cuase if it does, wed have to show it at the zoo. You realize how that link came to pass right? The community felt that Blizzard had been ignoring the plight of the Warrior Class for too long. So last Friday Night the all got together and crashed the Argent Dawn server by creating level 1 Gnome Warriors and shouting out stuff in protest. Other players of the forum, before losing their server went to the event to yell at them.
The end result was people from the Community crashing a server and taking away the game enjoyment of other people in the Community so they could get a point across to a company they felt had been ignoring them. So how does Blizzard respond? They immediately respond and put a sticky thread in the forums. So now others are thinking that crashing a server is a behavior rewarded by Blizzard.
So what hasn't your link covered? We have a thread created because the Community is immature. So bad community. Check. The protest was because Blizzard had "ignored" the class. So bad company to customer communication. Check. The end result is that the company gives them priority. Bad company decision. Check. And lots not forget this was all made possible BECAUSE their servers were able to be crashed so easily. So bad lag/performace. Check.
That thread you link only proves what I have said time and time again in this thread. And I'll say this one more time. None of this means that Blizzard should be given a permanent label as a rotten company with a horrible game. The game, when it works, is very fun and exciting. They need some more content later on for the higher levels, a PvP Reward System, etc, but they have a GREAT game. My only point is there is enough of the extra ciriculars going on to take away from that somewhat, and those are problems that need to be addressed, soon.

I'm gonna have to add my voice to those who had not much problems since the release. I suffered some lag, extended maintenance and other traffic related problems, but nothing that would make me cancel my account.
I understand Blizzard made a lot of efforts to design a game that would lag significaly less than other current MMO. I think they did it by putting a lot of code on the client side. This leaves only access to loot, bank and Auction House a direct query to a database, where lag can happen. Having experienced different sort of lag with many games, I'd say it is less anoying than most of them. Of course, having no lag is best.
Even with its current server problems, WoW is still an awesome game. Fanboi or not, if you cannot believe reviews, customer ratings, sales figures, then nothing is gonna change your mind. But know that nit-picking at every problem WoW has won't change ours.

Well said and straight to the point. Like i said too many times, nothing is perfect in this world. Compared to all other games, WoW has best gameplay/stability. the only thing that I wouldnt rate as GREAT but OK is Customer Service. Other then that this game is pretty much flawless. Im going into 3rd month and dont feel like this game is draging me. I am enjoying every single moment. Even more, I want to play ALTs, but I cant because my main is still so much fun to play at higher levels, which ive NEVER felt with any game - the higher you get the more "grind" it feels. Not in WoW. They nailed it. Well done Bliz.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
Blizzard's stance on balance issues and bugs/glitches is "we're testing it, fixes coming soon" and they prefer to fix problems that arise because of bad servers rather than fix the servers. Worst of all is that none of this new, all of these problems have existed since closed beta. They should have fixed all this crap after open beta but nooooo, Blizzard wanted to launch as soon as possible.
Several people have said that WoW is better than other MMOs because they had bad lag, serious bugs and missing content at launch. Well, guess what? WoW has all that too.
I'm cancelling my account tomorrow and then waiting for Battlegrounds. I'm pretty sure Battlegrounds will suck the devil's ass but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt anyway.

U r wrong, WoW never had any major server problems in beta. not even in stress beta when they took up a lot more people to test their servers. I know because ive been there nad ive played it. Also, there are no serious bugs in WoW. All those bugs where people crash and get errors are their HARDWARE or DRIVER problems. There is no major client side bug (not that im aware of anyway). Client side bug is something like this - you click on a vase to complete your quest and you are trown off to desktop...Thats what i call major bug. If you are unable to finish quest (mob doesnt spawn or doesnt drop required loot item) then that is a minor bug, it doesnt interfere with gameplay.
Balance issues are delicate matter, In my opinion there are no balancing issues, but I havent tried every class yet so I cant say for sure. I only know that I see all classes very often, and I dont hear any major rant about how this class is too weak and how that class is too strong.
So, before flaming Blizzard, you should of checked your hardware/drivers. As an example ill tell you what I experienced once: I used to play Counterstrike alot and i kept getting Blue Screen of Death often. That game was the only game that I realy noticed Blue Screen of Death, no other game realy had those. Took me sometime but I found out that my memory pin was bad and that was causing the problem. Once i fixed it,no more BSDs.
After I installed latest NVidia drivers and tweaked some graphic settings, i noticed a HUGE increase in graphic quality and a moderate increase in FPS rate.

My only point is there is enough of the extra ciriculars going on to take away from that somewhat, and those are problems that need to be addressed, soon.
your right . heres a perfect example of how horrible the community is. try and find one immature post please ive been looking and i cant find one.

We can play this game all you want. You find one post where someone isn't acting stupid, and I'll find 5 where they are.
P.S Those were the first 5 random links I clicked on.

Face it people- WoW has serious problems.
