Just starting.... Few tips? Starting character?

in Final Fantasy XI

Thanks for any help you could send my way i was jus wonderin what a good job to start out as would be. Im familiar with the online games and stuff played ac and ac2 for many years got bored with it wanted to try something new. I dont mind playin by myself or in parties and im jus doin this to have fun. So any started tips and jobs and such would be greatly appreciated... i've looked up a little bit and right now i was thinking... theive/ninja but i dunno you guys tell me what you think.

    Well alot of  partys dont want thieves in there clan till there a high level. But thief/ninja is a good mix. But if you wanna be in someones party be a white mage/paladin. Hope i have helped if not i tried lol

    Thfs start off really slow but once they get both sneak attack trick attack (SATA) parties will want them in every party they get. If u want too play a really active role in a party, u would want to consider a mage or pld.

    of course these are just wat i think is good, u can play the game however u want too.

    lol i lvled up all my jobs cept RDM, its my scape goat for wen i wanna death warp lol

    Personally : I think RDM's are a little too strong... I mean they get phalanx, refresh, convert, stoneskin, blink and enspells. Also they can wear pretty much any fighter armor as well, not limited to like cloth like most mages. Even though rdm/nin is a very powerful combo, you will, and I saw you WILL get a /slap if you try to find a party like that :P. Its a good combo but just for soloing, nothing else, bvery powerful though, gotta love them Utsesemi:ichi :D

    A combo like this is good for the Balista if you want to take part in it with a good party.

    I would suggest one of three classes

    1. Warrior | Usually tanks that take the most damage and pull the most.  If you have a good party this should not be a problem.
    2. White Mage | White Mages or always looked for in a party and always need MP because they are always helaing or casting Protect and Shell.
    3. Red Mages | Read Mages or a mix of Warrior, White Mages, and Blck Mages even thought they can not use Protectora, Shellra, Bar-(any element)-ra, and they can not learn element spell as fast as Black mages.

    Those are my suggestions from what i seen at a higher level, but you can pick what evere you want.
