Since the release of the expansion and the addition of the two new classes, what are your favorite combinations? I ask because my guild is planning to try this game out starting this month as a means of keeping away from the P2P market for a while until some of the MMOs under development are released (about a year or so from now).
If you are here to knock RoM or suggest that it's a WoW clone, save it. We've been playing MMOs for up to 11 years now, so we're not some WoW fanatics who are looking to get away from that MMO. Unlike the WoW craze, we know what to look for in a MMO. Yes, we know that they have a die hard item shop implemented that would result in people losing real cash, but as I said before, we're looking to keep ourselves in the F2P market (though once we cap out we may purchase end-game gear if we can not handle the end-game content without it - but we doubt it).
We'd like to know whether the PVP system on Grimdal is worth the time to explore. Given that we have over 150 members in the guild, and we tend to run in very large groups, we're not worried about wannabe gankers that will be running around.
If not, what U.S. servers are newer/lower population?
Our biggest concern, though, is what are the best class combinations at this time? I already know what I'm going to be, but my guildies require reviews before making decisions on what they wish to be.
Please, if you would be so kind, tell us what you think the TOP choice is for each bulletpoint, and then give us two alternates that could maybe do as well. Thanks in advance!
If there is anything else you think would benefit us in our class decisions, please feel free to add those opinions as well. Any further INTEL (requires intelligence, so please don't flame) would be greatly appreciated.

Best to sign up for the game and head to the forums.
Very, very rarely does anyone call each other "noob" or a variation, so you're good to go. If you're one to always call everyone "noob", handle yourself well or don't even try to play the game. It's a very nice community.
Yeah, I went ahead and signed up and have been reading through the forums. And it's good to see that there aren't as many children toddling around on the forums as well. Whether that is consistent with the in-game activities remains to be seen.

There are WAY more juvenile attitudes in-game. Why? There are unpaid (suckers) moderators in the forums who delete hundreds of posts everyday, and ban several forum account everyday. The few paid in-game masters only get paid to work 25 (or less) hours per week, and they have to cover all that region's servers. The entire GM team (sometimes only 2 people, depending on region) just do not have time to track down the brats and ban them. Occasionally, after months of reports, they will conduct mass suspensions, but that generally only totals to about 50 accounts, and even then it includes some innocents along with the guilty.
It is kind of hard to give an honest opinion about the new classes until we get the elite skills out, right now I am rolling a Druid Mage and I like the combo but the Druid lacks defense, hopefully with new elite skills maybe some def skill is added into it.

Most people will tell you it's Knight/Warrior, but I disagree. I personally believe the Knight/Priest is the best tank combo because they can reduce the threat generation of everyone in the group, and use heals to help mitigate damage on very difficult fights. Heals also generate threat on all mobs so it's like having another AoE threat skill. The bonus to this combo is the Priest/Knight is also the best healer in the game (see below), whereas Warrior/Knight is meh.
I have to give this category to Scout/Rogue. Mages do have some nice CC abilities but they can't completely incapacitate one target indefinitely like a Scout/Rogue can. Plus many of the Mage CC abilities cause damage/threat to the target, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Despite the stigma of the class, Scouts have the highest single-target sustained DPS on long fights.
Hands down it's Priest/Knight. They have the biggest heals (thanks to Divine Intervention), the most mana efficient heals (again thanks to Divine Intervention), the best buffs (thanks to Enhanced Grace of Life), and the highest survivability of all Priest combos (thanks to Enhanced Armor and Resilience).
Have to agree with RoMd00d here. Mage/Priest gives you high damage, decent CC, and secondary healing power.
For AoE damage, it's Mage/Priest. For single-target burst damage, it's Rogue/Scout. For single-target sustained (long fight) damage it's Scout/Rogue (a close 2nd goes to Scout/Warrior).
My ideal party would be:
Knight/Priest, Priest/Knight, Scout/Rogue, Mage/Priest, Rogue/Scout, and whatever the instance calls for as the last spot (off tank, second healer, more DPS, etc).
Best buffs - not Priest/Knight speciality. Enhanced Grace of Life look very nice, but on higher levels those few hundreds additional MP is not that much, if mp is drained fast. Priest/Mage's elites Angels Blessing and Angels Carol are best buffs for knights (mages, druids and wardens will also like it), Priest/Scout has Embrace of the Water Spirit - great buff for mages and druids (plus Enhanced Wave Armor, if casted on knight is interesting, but not long lasting buff). So in terms of buffs, Priest/Knight is not the best of priests, but rather one of 3 best.
There are other skills than enhance healing power (Holy Power - greatly increasing healings and made them even more mana eficient, Last Prayer - used in macro allow very fast Group Healing when needed and Sacrifical Cure - additional healing skill, rarely usable, but if used can heal full hp of 20k+ tank), lack of other skills is bad side of P/K, with Divine Intervention on P/K except heals can not help much killing monsters (only Freeze and Shield of Atonement).
I'm planning on joning RoM very soon, and I'm far more interested in pve class combos becuase most CS orinented games involve no skill just biggest wallet so...:
Which dual class would be best/why? (Best damage:survivability ratio)
How party orineted is this game/ what classes(or dual classes) offer very little to no use to a party situation?
And any other basic info you can provide would be nice.
My favorite has always been Rogue/Priest, but im also a pretty big soloer and pvper. A lot of people seem to dislike it, but i think most of them are just the people who think their toon is badass in PVE only to turn around and get ganked nonstop by the very few R/Ps that are out there. Downside to it is that it is mainly a class to use purely for pvp purposes or for soloing through pve content, but is generally unwanted in groups since it is a combination of both high dps and some half decent heals, but does not excel as much in either of those things as other combinations do.
At lower and mid level range syou can easily solo most of the quest bosses and elites that everyone else tends to need to group up for, due to your combination of high burst dps, regen, and 5 second barrier (and yes, you will drop most bosses either before the barrier drops, or quickly enough after that you barely get scratched). Though at later levels it does get tougher to solo because the bosses start taking a hell of a lot longer to kill, and hit you harder, so without a bit of luck and a lot of skill you will get taken out pretty easily.
PvP-wise... i love them for the combination of being able to stealth up on people and easily drop most people in just a few seconds, while also having the regen and barrier for those that take slightly longer to kill. As i said, people tend to shy away from the class, but i cant recall ever losing a 1v1 battle on any of my R/Ps, and theres been several times where ive taken on 2-3 people with slightly higher levels than me with ease. Hell even took on a double team 3 and 5 levels higher than me, where they ran up and started hitting me (so didnt even get to stealth), i quickly dropped the weaker guy in like 3-4 hits (<3 crits), then while i was battling the other guy which took longer, just as i was finishing him off the 1st one i killed had respawned and ran back so i took him out again after dropping the higher level. i was lmao about it for awhile.
Anothe rpoint too with the R/P combo... as far as elite skills go, you get a fe wpretty nice ones to benefit you, like an additional dodge buff which is even better than the one that rogues get normally, a 30% crit boost to your Tear Wound, and on the priest side, Shadow Curse (pretty much spammable dot which is about 2x as stronger as the other dots, and uses rogue energy instead of MP so you can keep using it pretty much constantly for farming mobs and such)
* What's the most suitable tank combination?
knight/priest
* What combination can provide a hybridization of crowd control and high dps?
rogue/mage
* What's the best healing combo?
priest/knight
* What's the most utilitarian combo?
mage/priest
* What's the highest dmg combo in game?
mage/priest
What's the most 'fun' combination? :P
Mage and Priest have to be my favorite i mean the combo skills and the tactics and strategies involved can definitely give any player a run for their money
by the way most reply are obsolete since they added 2 class to the game
Not at all. The 2 new classes are, for all intents and purposes, utterly insignificant.
K/P is still the best tank in game
P/K is still the best healer in game
M/P is still the most utilitarian in game
M, R, S are still the best DPS is game
I guess you could argue that wardens are great at CC. However, even the beefy pet dies quickly. Also, without the possibility of knight secondary, off-tanking isn't recommended. So, you are down to skills with short durations, which can be very effective if used at the proper time. The sad part is, you get nearly as good a CC repertoire from a Mage and a much, MUCH, greater destructive capacity.
